What kind of post gives good merit? Huh

My advice is to make quality posts and the output can help friends who previously didn't understand to understand.
To make quality posts, of course, you must have knowledge besides that it also needs to be organized and adjusted to the Forum Rules,
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/newbies-read-before-posting-1689727

The first thing you need to do is read more, avoid spam, shitpost, and low-quality posts.
Spam and shitpost will most likely be removed by moderators. Apart from these 2 things, out-of-topic posts will also be deleted.
If you have done the things above, you will most likely get merit from a merited member.

What kind of post gives good merit? Huh
Some posts that at least:
- Not spam
- No plagiarism
- Informative
- On topic
- Clear explanation (with short or long words)
- No bounty reports

But sometimes, some members will give it with different criteria and unpredictable.  Cheesy

I don't think this question is of any importance to you. Because if any new member asked the question then maybe it would be accepted. Your joining date is 2018, as well as post 1000+. Suddenly you should not have this question in your mind now. Did you just join here to bounty. The forum was created to discuss all the information about Bitcoin.
I also checked these.
And wow, with his 1612 posts since 2018, most of his posts are only:
- Bounty reports
- Bounty POA
And those are almost 98%, I checked it until page 10 and the posts are the same.
And for OP, I expect that you really read these answers, not  only making thread and leave these because many members here help you to give answers of what you must do to get merit.
Although actually, you  can read the information very easily on this board, moreover if seeing that you were here since 2018.
Good luck for you, hopefully you will do something better, not only posting bounty report and POA..

Bitcointalk forum is a very nice and friendly interactive group, where merit is awarded according to contributions one give out in the forum, by providing a very vital information, answering questions to help others out and solve their problems. Such contributions to the forum results to very high rank due to your contribution.

What kind of post gives good merit? of course the one that deserves it. It gives you enlightenment, new information based on valid sources, good logical thinking that can bring a new perspective, a thread that can be helpful and give advantages for many people, and so on. It's actually very subjective cause it depends on people who want to give it. Sometimes, because it's favorable for them, they can give it to you. However, I think some of the causes above can present some of the reasons.

I went through your post history and i noticed that you are a Bounty Hunter, so it's very obvious that bounty hunters do not like to learn, and they are eager to earn amount of bitcoin or USD, if your ready to earn merit as well, just devote out time to learn, make some research and take a precaution of observation thoroughly in the board's of the forum and follow anyone that's suitable for you to comprehend. Because earning merit requires hard working through your post quality, because low quality post's doesn't fetch merit.

That depends on the one who gives the merit, you can make a post that you think good which are helpful, but don't do it for merit purposes only, make it your normal posting habit as merit will eventually be given to you in due time. Don't forget that we also have the merit sources which has tons of merit, they are just looking for a good post to spread their merit and if you are one of them, you'll likely receive it and that would help you to rank up.

If you contribute positively to the forum I believe you will be rewarded with merit, make sure you make positive post which will benefit the forum members and the forum itself I believe you will be rewarded with merit and make sure whenever you are making post don't go against the forum rules like plagiarizing, make sure you make the post yourself and if you are getting your post from another place make sure you put the source of your post, you don't have to copy other people's post and be claiming it's yours.

The OP, whom by his posting history seems to be little concerned in practice with the formulated question (see his posting history since then), is probably wondering why he’s getting incoming messages on this thread after it being inactive since March 2021, only to be bumped yesterday by an account (@farmland), which has since been banned (not nuked).

The truth of it is that neither the OP, nor the bumper are interesting in the topic really …

Merit is subjective thing that you get it for quality posting. Some people have more merits then there activity that's because whatever they post is of high quality. I checked your account you are active over 1000 times here but still have only 1 merit thats because you are not involved in anything that has helped other or increase other knowledge. Try to browse forum, you will see what posts get merits.

Im new in the forum as you mays ee from the left under my profile name but still i can give you answer. In my opinion "merit" is like a gift that someone gives you when he finds the information you provided useful for himself! So if you want to accuire merits make sure you put quality information in the forum and you wont notice when they start hetting higher and higher.
thank you for your attention .
See i know you are new on the forum but first of all be familiar with all the rules and regulations of the forum in case to avoid any violation of the rules:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/unofficial-list-of-official-bitcointalkorg-rules-guidelines-faq-703657

You have bumped the thread which is some months old and it's not a good practice at all.

Second work on your English and posting styles as there are lot of improvements needed if you are not native English speaker but this board requires posting in proper format on our end

Third you said merit is a gift but in actually I don't think so of it as gift but it is a reward for your effective posting and healthy contributions to the forum which includes Sharing and exchanging of knowledge and promoting good conversations whether technical or not on whichever board you want.No member is giving away merits gift to shitposter if you understand what i mean so take this into consideration.Merits are given based on your posts and what you deserve not merely as gift.

Rest keep learning and make the posts with following rules.

What kind of post gives good merit? Huh

Informative post
Relevant to the topic
Helpful post
Sometimes humorous post.

Mostly those kind of post are meritable so maybe contribute good here and you get the merits from the user who like your post. Also don't focus on altcoin section since that section mostly avoided by merit giver due to the spams happening on that section.
If only OP was paying attention to this thread, then I could have said, its a pained soul, trying to turn a new live but as it is, I think OP is just trolling. It doesn't matter what you say in this thread because, OP's attention is just focused on the altcoins and bounty sub-boards. Judging by the lots of post that came just after this thread creation, mainly proof of authentication and how OP could get this or become that... and the count has been registered on the forum far too long not to know what a merit deserving post should look like.

For as many beginners that look towards building there account and pay attention to this thread, I think the above quoted reply is a way to start. Put in work and yourself in whatever you present. Be creative, precise and on point. Remember, the forum values originality and should you get information from any resource material(s), site or credit the source.

For OP, stop trolling and try genuine learning, you could help the forum in ways not seen yet. I used to be like you once but, I changed and you could too. Just try!

A good post that passes vital information.  Let it make sense to anyone that comes across it, then it will be merited by anyone who feels like. If you make post to get merit you may miss it.
In all you have to be good in your discussion pattern, don't force your self to make a post when you don't have anything reasonable to say.

Do not focus on achieving merits, that'll discourage you from posting regularly, I can say that from experience. They was a time when I was particular about hitting a certain amount of merit and so I tried everything possible to see that I got there, it gradually affected my posts because I was selective about the kind of post I made.

Just focus on making post that'll educate people, post that can engage people in bringing our their own opinions.

You're there already buddy. One of the legendary rank user had provided you with one merit and you ranked up already to jr. member. You can celebrate it now.

I would say unfortunately for the reason that the OP made this thread just for the reason that he gets that 1 merit, which in the end he succeeded. From all the posts that followed, the OP showed no intention of changing anything in its way of communicating on this forum - he's back to bounty campaigns, with only one difference, no longer as a Newbie but as a Jr. Member.

Congratulations, mission accomplished.

What kind of post gives good merit? Huh
For me something that will simplify explanation about Cryptocurrency and blockchain and similar topics, depends on the giver I usually give merit to newbies for coming up with a good post that adds value to the discussion, I even have two thread inviting newbies to post their best post for merits, I notice that you already have merit coming from OgNasty I will not contest it, he has a reason why he gives to you, maybe he wants to see how the discussion will go on.

Simplification will make newbie confuse so I think this will not end up receiving a merit to someone and giving all of the information is required so that newbie will be knowledgeable and well equip once they want to earn for theirselves thats why mostly those long post with good explanation gets a.high merit percentgage since they post a good informative information.

I was kinda surprised that you have over 1000 posts and you are asking this question now Grin but checked you post mostly on bounty section,
LOL, it's not something that surprise me anymore now. Next time you come across a newbie who has a history of over 1000 post then I hope you won't be surprised any more as I believe they are bounty hunter who have been involved in social media bounty.

participate in contests held here like the art contests to celebrate 10 years!
No, it's too long for him. But I think the OP only need to change his current direction and mindset if he cares about his merit and rank. Engaging in lot of interesting discussion is one way to gain insight and knowledge. That's a great way to build our character here. Knowledge, insight, and experience are 3 things that really help users to achieve quality in every post.

I was kinda surprised that you have over 1000 posts and you are asking this question now Grin but checked you post mostly on bounty section, so that's alright Smiley just engage more in the community outside the bounty section, post in your local language threads, participate in contests held here like the art contests to celebrate 10 years! Make good posts and you will get merits easily, as easy as it's said Cheesy

For that many would think that he is spammer and no one will bother to read his post history since it was full of bounty reports. But if he can correct that and as you said he can go engage with community to have a good discussion maybe from that he can get the merit he want. Also better he shouldn't think about merit since it will follow once he enjoy the discussions opened here.
