What happens to those who already have higher ranks and still don't post quality post? IMO, I think some people will be content on that level if they can still participate in signature bounties. It would be nice to see bounty managers use a system on par with the merit system in order to achieve more efficient results.

For example, if a person does not meet up to a required amount of merit within a stipulated time, especially after joining the signature bounty, they could be removed from the bounty.

you get a merit...

campaign managers "should" start using merit as the metrics for joining campaigns.. then the bar will over time be set higher and higher.

this will then improve all membership levels posts..

I think it would be nice if we got a little bit of merit for activity. Just cap it off low to avoid spam. Like you can get 1 merit per day. Or if you want it to be harder, one smerit per day.

I could really use some merit and my posts are usually short like this one...
One merit / day is useless as it's the same as activity (14 activity / 2 weeks). The merit system right now is really great as it "forced" spammer to contribute to the discussion if they want to rank up and join some bounty. You don't need to write a long post, if you write something useful then people that are grateful for that information can give you some merit points.

If I send merit points to someone I will loose mine ? Or it's just a like in social networks ?
No, you never lose your merit points, it is yours, and it wont change when you send sMerits to someone in the forum. Please remember that what you send is sendable Merits (sMerits), not Merits. Instead, when you receive some Merits from others, your sMerits also increase. That's the way merit system work.

However, personally the current approach of merit system has several setbacks and it really need to be adjusted a little bit in order to both keep the forum clean and as fair as possible for all ranks of members in the forum. If it helps and useful, please consider give me merits if you want ^^

If I send merit points to someone I will loose mine ? Or it's just a like in social networks ?

Your total Merit score won't be affected. You'll lose your spendable Merit points (sMerits)

How do you get your spendable Merit points (sMerits)? and how many?.

You get half of the spendable merits for every merit your receive. If you get 10 merits for a post, you will get additional 5 Smerits.

You get them once depending on your rank on the forum
After you send them, the person who received them, can send half of the received amount.
Half of the received Merit is converted into a sMerit available to be sended other person.
The amount of the received Merit does not decrease.

Alright, I actually think good of the new ‘rule’. Up to Jr Member nothing really changes, but to become a higher Member you have to post high quality posts. Nothing wrong with that imo!
Are there regulations for being flagged? Like if I put: ‘Merits are appreciated’ in my info right underneath the avatar, is that acceptable? Or is asking for merits a no go and you just have to keep dropping informative and supportive contributions to the BTT forums? Thanks in advance!

then it will no longer be Jr. Member who will meet the thread of a Jr. because it is considered useless just doing activities that waste time and will not increase their Merit because they think not necessarily the source of merit roam the thread and will choose to frequently reply to the thread member indicated as a source merit with difficulty seeking their attention to be given 1 merit worth it. So in the end this forum is not just looking for money and partition to defend the world of crypto but also the arena to hunt merit. Cry Cry

I think that you can just find the bitcoin and/or crypto topics that are interesting to you, and provide thoughtful participation in those forum areas, and it is likely that your participatory contributions will become noticed by others who thereafter send you merit.

Well, I will not think too much about how to get merit. What is clear is this forum has given me a lot of information about crypto. this may be a good policy from theymos for this forum and can limit multi-account which isnt much contribution to this forum but garbage post.

Friends, faced a global problem - yesterday began to delve into the innovation, just to test these merits, well, I sent 50 to one person (random) in the morning wake up I was painted. For what?? I just tested - the novelty is on the forum, I want to touch my hands. I've been building my account since I was 15, and in one move they killed it all! It is right? You can not immediately execute
I guess you should write it to that person who gave you red, he was obviously too triggerhappy.
I wrote, but he is silent  Embarrassed

actmyname is a busy bloke, he is DT and tags lots of people - give him a few days to respond before you hound him

thanks for support! :-)

I checked him out and he looks like a Legendary member doing an excellent job for the community.
But for your case, he explicitly states that you need to wait at least 72 hours after negative trust was given or pm will be ignored no matter what.
Yes, I saw this message. but I was excited and wrote right away. and in the beginning he answered. I think if he did not immediately withdraw then after 36 hours, too, there will be nothing

OK. So now I’m on the right track!  Grin

You'll be on the right track when you start reading before posting. Most of those questions are covered in the OP and the rest have all been covered extensively.

But I will check out the whole thread now too!

You're doing it the wrong way round.

You’re absolutely right! Think (read in this case) before you speak..  Lips sealed
Like I said, I’m new and will take this feedback for future reference. I’m now just at page 8 of the thread and yes, a lot of my queries are covered! But ‘thankfully’ I’m not the only one who is posting without reading though. Smiley

If nothing else, seeing people have gotten hundreds of merits in the first few hours of this rollout should make it pretty clear who is abusing multiple accounts on this forum. Smiley
Its actually good for catching alts of someone.
Stupid people will always indulge in sending merits to their alt accounts

That's true. First of all the new system will finally increase the quality of posts (hopefully) and second benefit is that we'll be able to point out people who were abusing the forum..
