Inspiration for this thread:
Of course this initiative is not new on the forum: I draw inspiration from a few threads around:

[Merit] Share your best topics with Merit Source
[self-moderated] Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source

Good luck to everyone.

that's very helpful sir, I also have a thread like that in local especially Indonesian the work of other contributors in Indonesia HERE

but now that there is your thread, I think it will spur faster growth with a fairly tolerant time frame. And it's global because you accept all languages.
you are right, considering that users who have difficulty and space to spur their potential from the distributed merit will make users motivated. It's not hypocritical indeed all users need useful and helpful threads like this, if there is a writing format, please include it, bro. but if you free all applicants to express themselves with the loyal application, that person is also okay. Thank you for your concern and hopefully many users will be helped and synergized with this thread.

By the way, I don't see in the rules that describe the application limits. For example, 1 member may only apply 1 every 2 weeks or every 1 month. It is better to set a limit of application for every member who already applied their posts here. It can minimize the chance of abuse. IMO

This thread is very new, but I was already wondering to implement something like that.
I guess 5 posts every two weeks is a good balance.

So, I edited the rules accordingly. A maximum entry of 5 post is allowed every two weeks.

In general, for lower ranking members can be difficult getting enough merits, so I think “newbies” should be taken care of.
Agree.  Smiley

Here read newbies not in a technical way. So everyone with less than 1,000 merits can apply.
Okay. It means Newbies - Hero is allowed to apply their posts here as long as it meets the rules.
It is very clear now, I see you have pointed this on the rules.

Funny typo of mine btw.
You have changed it before people realize it, don't worry  Wink

Hmm, would a lesson learned topic qualify? Used to be a proponent of CeFi until I recently lost some Bitcoin due to them "unbanking" their users. :p

Below was a question posed by me on any potential risks of re-using an old Ledger's seed phrases which I've sold, and after receiving advice from some senior members, I went with a new one and my Bitcoins have been staying in there ever since and now my goal is to attain 1 BTC in the near future:

It's clear to me that I'll never get a chance to participate in your thread as long as there's no thread I create, but is it possible to get some of the best posts you can see from the comments we wrote on other thread?
You did not read the op bruh, it is written there that you can report threads created by yourself, or comments in the threads created by other members, the two of it is acceptable in this topic, so you can go ahead and report your comments on other members' threads, let me quote the OP for you:
  • I consider both original topics, and individual posts that you leave in various forum topics.

fillippone, I know you are a well-intentioned merit source to help many users earn merit and rank up. Your idea serves the same purpose as what Ratimov, LoyceV, and The Pharmacist have been doing so far, but I'm not very talented at making thread and so far I haven't been very motivated to do so. It's clear to me that I'll never get a chance to participate in your thread as long as there's no thread I create, but is it possible to get some of the best posts you can see from the comments we wrote on other thread?

This is just a friendly question, but feel free to delete or ignore it if this violates your thread's local rules. Thanks.  Wink

One of the rules that I had was that you couldn't submit posts that were written after I started my tread. The deadlines were then moved several times as time passed. Since everything that is good eventually gets taken advantage of, cheaters might see this initiative of yours as a great way to create some new accounts, make a few decent/good posts, and submit those in your thread. The accounts could then be sold or used for other purposes.

Thanks for your insight. And for sure I will look into your rules and implement some additional requirement if needed.

Regarding your concerns about this thread facilitating farming/selling of accounts, I will check on it and actively look for abuse. But I tend to think people approach in good faith so that I won’t make life harder for the good users because of potential bad users. In this case, potential bad users would be motivated enough to circumvent the rules anyway, while good users would be simply left behind and discouraged.
