This was just a spam, all this was already mentioned in the first post of the thread.
for a change lol,all of them chooses 1917(in which i also love)but there must be another choices and also i love the concept of once upon a time though Brat Pitt seems to be a truly extra(sorry for the word but that is what i find him in movie)while Leo is showing Great acting Brad does nothing.i am a Big fan of Brad from Troy,mr and mrs Smith and in ocean movies and other movies he comes as Main character but in this one?nah
I personally don't think that 1917 is the best film of 2019, but i think it's the one that will most likely win an Oscar. When i made predictions, i went with what i think Academy will choose, rather than who i would like to win. For me
Marriage Story was the best one, but i doubt it will win an Oscar for best film. Since i mentioned which one is the best for me in 2019, i might as well mention 9 more that make my top 10 of 2019:
2.
Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood-this was the tough call, to decide whether i liked this one or Marriage Story the most. For me this is one of the best Tarantino movies so far, i really enjoyed the film, it was a bit different than usual Tarantino style, and i liked the change.
3.
Uncut Gems-i expected a good film, knowing that Safdie brothers are capable directors, but this was even better than i expected. Extremely fast paced and anxious film, that gets us right into the world of a hardcore gambler. It will not be a everyones cup of tea as it is kinda "attack on senses", but it's worth checking it out.
4.
Parasite- another very good movie from Bong Joon Ho, and interesting mix of genres. And one more with strong message, like in his previous work.
5.
1917-beautiful film to watch in cinema, i really enjoyed this one. Tehnically perfect, and one of the best war movies i saw since 2001 and Black Hawk Dawn.
6.
Joker- I am not a fan of comic based movies, so i liked a bit different take on known villian, with great performance by Phoenix.
7.
The Lighthouse-second film by Eggers, guy who made an excellent horror The VVitch few years before. This one is definitely not for everyone, as film is made in style of 1920 German cinema and great F.W Murnau, with a bit of Greek mithology. Dafoe and Pattinson did great job there.
8.
JoJo Rabbit- serious theme made in a different way, reminds a bit of Life is Beautiful. Taika Waititi is simply not capable of making a bad film.
9.
The Two Popes-i am not really a religious guy, but that didn't stop me from enjoying in this one. Pleasant surprise, and very good Hopkins and Price in leading roles.
10.
Doctor Sleep- sequel to Shining, made by the Stephen King book of the same name. We all know that Shining is one of the best horrors ever made, Kubrick's masterpiece, so i must admit that i was really skeptical about this one, but it turned out to be good film, thanks to Flanagan who is an experienced horror movies director(he made few good movies and an excellent series, The Hunting of the Hill House). As long as you don't expect the same style of movie like Shining, you will be good.
Few honorable mentions: One Cut of the Dead, Dolemite Is My Name, Togo, The Art of self-defense, Arctic, Dragged Across Concrete, The Kindergarten Teacher, Dogman, Shazam!, Dark Waters, Ford vs Ferrari, The Wild Pear Tree, The Mustang, Birds Of Passage, Pain and Glory..
Anyone else interested to share their top 5/10/whatever while we are waiting for Oscars? I am always on the lookout for new films!
