Myetherwallet is the one of the best option available for now, it is very easy to use and user-friendly. You can use it with hardware wallet, if you have got one, or use it with metamask on chrome.

Yes you are right with that MyEtherWallet is the best wallet for ERC20 tokens that's where I store my tokens and make sure you will use your MetaMask whenever you want to login your MEW, do not enter your private key just to make sure avoid phishing site to giving out your information. My etherwallet is the easiest and convenient wallet for all token and ethereum. It is good and secure if you keep you token and ethereum.... But there are a lots of electronic wallet that keeps our coin secure but we must always be aware of it... There are a lots of hardware wallet that secure our coins but is is much safer if we use Mew... It is widely trusted by almost all crypto user.... But you should always secure your private key...
I store some of my coins on myetherwallet purse. But it is dangerous to store large sums there. If someone grabs your private key, you can lose all your money.

The security of our wallet is coming from us on how we handled it but hacking could be lessen or can be avoided if we cautiously check sites before doing anything.

Despite being free there's a risk if you keep on depending with free wallet. . I'm a beginner and MEW suits me. I distribute my tokens between exchanges and the mew wallet. Yes, it is not safe to keep on the stock exchanges, but if I need to quickly sell I can do it.

So, I suggest you move to another wallet such as Mycrypto or Blue wallet.
Myetherwallet was one of the best wallets for holding tokens until it was compromised lately. Apparently hackers had compromised myetherwallet and this is the reason why it is not safe anymore as it once used to be. It doesn't mean we should stop using it. Although it was compromised, it still is a better wallet than most other wallets. The benefit of using MEW is that it can hold almost all the ERC20 tokens that are created. If you don't want to use MEW then there are many other wallets which you can use and my personal favorite amongst them is Eidoo wallet which supports many tokens.

Since I am the only ERC-20 wallet service I use, I can not compare it with other services, but I can often say that I am satisfied with it. I have many positive reasons such as not experiencing any problems, not having any problems. Nevertheless, it is imperative to use other services for comparison. At least those who have used other services should also value their comments.
MEW is not the best place to store ERC20 token but I think it's still good to use although there are so many hackers are trying to hack your MEW wallet out there . If you wanna improve secure of your MEW wallet, you can use Meta Mask, it'll make your MEW much safer and it'll make hackers hard to access to your wallet

Myetherwallet is just the user interface that we use to access the ethereum blockchain. All erc20 tokens are saved on the chain and not on the myetherwallet website. So you can use any of the services to access the ehreum blockchain. Just keep your keys safe, or better, use a hardware wallet.
