They are trying to prove if you are the real owner of the account. Imagine a stranger claims that they lost a phone and therefore 2FA should be disabled, and then he starts claiming to be the owner of your account. If mexc's security check is weak, they may end up handing over the account to the wrong person thereby, leading to loss of funds?

What would you do in this case. I am pretty sure you would be made as hell and would still call them scammers.

This is not justified for a scam accusation, but a normal security practice to protect your account. It is not their fault that you were unable to protect your personal data and belongings. All that is left for you now is to cooperate with their customer support and give them all the information they ask you to recover your account.

Why did you create this scam accusation thread since it is you who asked them to secure your account / freeze it in first place?
They are doing what you asked them to do and you can't blame them for that.
You asked them to lock your account and they did it. Now, you are trying to gain access to your account so you need to provide enough evidence to prove you are the real owner.

Sounds like typical security checks to me.

About listing all cryptocurrencies in your account, can you try to negotiate if naming most of them would be enough? IIRC, mexc isn't the first one to ask for a similar thing during account recovery but from the ones i've seen, a rough estimation is typically enough. I'm guessing you have a lot of different cryptos?

I used Mexc before I didn't have any bad experiences using them but the problem is most of the assets listed there are shitcoins.
And honestly, I don't trust this exchange but you don't have any other option but to wait for their response if they are going to unfreeze your account. Since you already sent your personal information for KYC maybe it takes time before they verify that you are the real owner of that account.

You need to know your login details and also have your 2FA secret code. This would have helped you not to go through this inconvenience time.

Know that they are protecting your account. Give them all necessary details they need.
