Okay  I think this link is bullshit

hxxps://microbtmining.com/product/microbt-whatsminer-m30s/

they offer the m30s at only 1150 with 1 week delivery time.

don't buy from them.

https://whois.net/

look up has them at only  around since last year.

microbt.com is around since 2016

https://www.microbt.com/   they are the actual builder of the gear.

Pangolin has a m31s  to ship late may

https://pangolinminer.com/product/whatsminer-m31s-with-psu/

who cares it is 42 watts a th  a 76 th unit.  pulls 3300 watts.

they have a m30s  to ship ing five days for 2430

https://pangolinminer.com/product/whatsminer-m30s-with-psu/

claims it can do 38 watts a th

pulls 3268 watts does 86th

if they really shipped it in five days.  you could get maybe 50 days pre ½ ing.

I saw Vincent VP whatsminer posted this price list and avalability in social media

Very competitive pricing for the m30 and m31 ranges.

Yeah, 2 red-flags - half the price of some other sites, and faster delivery...  greed is, however, a powerful if often foolish, motivator.

Just have 150+ S9s that haven't been profitable to run for some time.  Were at $10,200, but are not now.  Am looking to re-bootstrap my shop - but likely going to wait post-halving now and see what reality is.

The price they are asking seems way too high for a miner that will only see a month of pre-halving operation (if they ship on time). The only way this price makes sense to me is if you expect BTC price to double or diff to halve before or very close after the halving. If that happens, then ROI with 5c/kWh power is about 250 days. If price and diff remain the same, then ROI with 5c/kWh power is 435 days, 500 days if they are late and you miss all pre-halving mining. Judging by how Bitmain has priced their miners in the past, I'm guessing they'll crush this price when they release their 5nm miners.

funny you should mention this.  I was on pangolin website looking at  the m21  a 60 watt machine which ships to usa in 5 days.

cost of 600 bucks does 27 th

so buy 3  send one to your brother and one to your house and one to you mother.  legally avoids trump tax

cost of 3 x 600 = 1800 for 81 th  the three pieces are in stock and should show in 10 days or less.

but 1 m30 = 2700 for 81th   the unit will show in 30 days if lucky    you may pay 650 trump tax  cost of 3300

so same hash  for  900 to 1500 more usd.   and at  least a 20 day delay  to get the 38 watt single m30  vs the 60 watt 3 m21

for 20 days 80th = 250

so I am 1150 to 1750 in the hole  buying the new gear assuming they show on time. (hmm how often is that)

38 x 80 = 3100 watts
60 x 80 = 4800 watts

a 1700 watt difference  lets make it 2000  that is 2 kwatts x 24 = 48 kwatts a day   lets make it 50 kwatts a day

at 5 cents that is 2.50 a day in power savings.   so 1150/2.50 = 460 days    and 1750/2.50 = 700 days

so buying 1 m30s will  take 460 to 700 days  to make up the price difference

over buying 3 m21 pieces of gear.

So as much as you may want the  m30s  it simply makes close to zero $$ sense at 5 cent power.

you can argue it makes sense at 10 cent power  but  it still means 230 to 350 days  to make up for the  extra cost of the m30

and we all know mining at 10 cent power = loser for the last few years.

I did factor with and without trump tax.
I did not factor what if the psu breaks

on the m30s you have zero hash
on the m21  you have 3 pieces so 1 dead one means you have 53 or 54 th left.

So for those that want the best gear  they are paying a high premium for it.

I am still running 2 m20s and 1 m21s

all pull over 3200 watts.

I used these cables

https://www.ebay.com/itm/L6-30P-to-C19-Molded-Power-Cord-10ft-220V-250V-30A-Ships-Free/202904653534?

I would consider buying one of these just because it does have most hash rate of any unit out there.

But the risk factors are high.

Due march 20-30

very easy for that to come on May 5  a 35-40 day delay

The ½ ing comes on May 1 to May 10

You could lose  30 plus pre ½ ing days of mining.

Not sure I want to risk this.  Pangolin was very good to me from August 2018 up to August 2019.  They then had a lot off late shipping issues.  I am not sure I want to lay out 2400 and not be sure of delivery.

Just for the record, max rating on the C19/C20 depends on which is used - International or North America rating - and of course the wire size the cord has.
per Interpower (who makes them)
Quote
C19 connectors offered by Interpower are rated at 16A/250VAC international and 20A/125 or 250VAC North America with a temperature rating of up to 70°C/158°F.

C20 inlets are also rated at 16A/250VAC international and 20A/250VAC North America. The temperature rating is 60°C/140°F to 70°C/158°F, depending on the approval agency.

While personally I'd use the 16A rating, the N.A. rating of 20A does make me feel better about pushing it.

Wow, another big power boy, and the efficiency just keeps getting better. The current load is indeed quite close to the nominal max. current (16 Amps) for the C19 connector. But the power consumption is quite the same as with the M20S. I did not notice any alarming heat in the C19 connector with my M20S.

So far Inno is the only manufacture that has not fucked me with shit gear.

After my nightmare with the M20 NFW will I ever buy gear from them again.

For 2019  Whatsminer was okay for me..   But I have not ordered much from them after my July delivery.

The prices rose and the preorder time went far out.

No 2019 builder was  truly perfect for me.

Bitmain was almost.   about 23 good and 3 so so .

next would be cannan  3 good 1 so so 1 bad

then whatsminer   7 with no issues 4  with issues.

inno was the worst for me.  1 good    1  so so  it was late and pulled lots of power.

Have you tried other manufacturers such as?

  • Bitmain
  • Canaan / Avalon
  • Innosilcon

Those are the three well known companies beside pangolinminers/MicroBt ,firstly try to get the gears from their website directly as it's usually cheaper, if not then try to source trusted rellers, it's really not a rocket science, it's pretty simple.

The market place is full of resellers, most are probably scammers so make sure you use escrow.
