Facts that are very interesting. Let's me give my thought and opinion also here.

  • People have been gambling since early times. The first recorded taxation and regulation of gambling was made up in the 4th century BC. Source
Well yeah, gambling has been around us, whether traditional and online, legal and illegal. Gambling is something as a habit at first and going up to the professional gamblers. Everybody knows about gambling, in my country, gambling is forbidden, but there is always gambling  Grin Grin

  • Las Vegas is well-known all around as world’s gambling centre. However, today the world’s biggest gambling city is Macau, which earned in $45.3 billion in 2013. It takes one day for Macau players to wager the same amount that is wagered in a week in Las Vegas. Source
It is new for me, LV is the one that is said as the heaven of gambling and betting place, and all of pleasure. But well yeah, if it is Maccau, it may be somewhere other again that will be next place with hthe highest gambling city. But, is it about only the amount or other factors?

  • A wife bought a scratch-off lottery ticket to prove a point to her husband that it was a waste of money, but it ended up winning her $1 million. Source
And then the wife is supposed to be a much better gambler than her husband? I hope that she thinks that it is only about luck, if the wife is interested and also become a gambler, well, I can't think what happen tot eh family  Grin

The World’s Smallest Casino is Run from the Back of a London Cab
I searched on google with the keyword of the bold part. It showed the Santa Ysabel but it has shut its doors years ago.

And for the Grosvenor casino, I've found this video for others to have an idea how does it look inside and out.

Grosvenor Casinos World's Smallest Travelling Casino

It's really fancy. Actually I become interested to search this facts because I saw some video on the Facebook regarding this legit card game inside a taxi cab. Luckily I come up to the website which write this fact. I believe the author means on this fact as the smallest travelling casino since the previous is not operating anymore.

It's really cool to play on this cab especially when it comes out from nowhere. I will try to research about there bet size and max/min on bets.
Cool as it is.  Cool

Never thought of this idea. But it's an interesting innovation which is catchy to the gamblers that will pass-by through the street where they are located.

We got almost everything of mobile. Mobile restaurant and now, I've just seen this mobile casino not the smartphone thingy.

Number 49 is one of the reasons why people don't get so excited at gamblers. Having all hopes up in a bet and being too certain it's a win when betting is rather a 50:50 chance. It's so much of a don't and I won't try it nor advice anyone to try it. That gambler has got way too much gusts to make that stake. Assuming he/she lost, he could have been swigging in loans or turn out to be a refugee in his/her country... Very unlikely.
I'm surprised that catholic church at, some point did support gambling. Let's not put it on catholic churches alone though as I believe they seem to be the spear head given that, they were and still remain the first of all churches but then, it's amazing what religion would support if it funds it's Church. Definitely, the church would have been getting something out of it to incorporate it into their doctrine.

This is indeed an interesting list and one enjoyable to read. There are a couple of facts that I wasn't aware of and I suppose most of them prove the point that gambling has been established quite early on in our society.

And only recently has become more or less popular, the answer to that I think depends on who you ask. In any case, a nice addition to the general knowledge about gambling. Your efforts are much appreciated  Smiley thanks for sharing this with us on here

Thanks for sharing this link and I went and checked it. I got an idea that you know in all countries where it is legal there could be a taxi service which they can operate like it can be less numbers of cab where those who have to travel some distance can book this cabs and till the time they reach their destination they can play it. I am not sure if such services already exist in any countries specifically during the customer booking for travelling from one place to another with this feature in the car. Cab service will charge some premium for this service and in the meantime the passenger can enjoy the ride playing the games.
Sounds even cooler if these taxi casino's will station under the building of each establishments like mine.so even in break time we can make a bet also short time lol.
Does in some countries in asia has this kind of gambling place?
Definitely none. Asian is very conservative unlike EU and US which are liberated. In my country if you was caught by someone know you that gambling in public places, they will gossip about you among your coworkers and will ruin your reputation. Doing something like that is a big here. Even wearing a clothes that reveal too much skin will gain a lot of attention so what more gambling in public places.

All those Asian joke about parents being so strict to there child is REAL. And it reflects how serious Asians are on this kind of things that related to family reputation.

Every country do have its own behavior when it comes on the way of clothing and it is indeed differs if they are that too liberated or not which it isnt surprising and i do agree that in Asian countries then we wont really
like to see these things because of being too conservative so we shouldnt really expect that much that we do find out these things.

44. A male gambler called Brian Zembic is known for doing anything to win a bet and agreed to have breast implants and keep them for one year in return for $100,000. He won the bet and 20 years later still has 38C breasts.Source

Im pretty much aware on this one ^  where people do all things for the sake of money. Having 38c size breast for the entire year?  Cheesy People are indeed crazy.

I will add another interesting fact to your collection:
Las Vegas gained additional popularity due to the fact that nuclear bomb tests were conducted 65 miles from the city in the 1950s. At the same time, no one was afraid, and the city began to organize events dedicated to the tests.

I'm amazed I visited this thread ATM and after watching all the interesting information which I didn't knew before. I never knew Roulette was called a Devil's game, so I'm one of those devils who ambitiously play this game of numbers with those reds and blacks as extras to make money on colors too, awesome combination. BTW, is there any chance we might get the secrets of that Russian Engineer-cum-Genius who's got the idea of looting casinos through their slot machines? I'm no good at slots and I believe this might be life-changing for anyone who will know about this. Wink

These are really mind blowing facts. It is funny that in all my years as a gambler, I have across only a small number of the whole article.
It is nice to know these things. Many of them duly illustrated the fact that luck and chance have helped quite a lot of people in the past and it is still possible for one to the jackpot even with very little amount of money.
I do think however that a gambler should always gamble only what he can afford to lose. Not everyone will have the stroke of luck these guys had. Many have lost their all savings and ended up broke and dejected.

24. Monkeys can learn to use the money. Capuchins that were taught to exchange silver discs for treats began budgeting for foods they liked, buying more of something when the price dropped and started gambling. Eventually, rich monkeys even figured out they could pay each other for sex.
I had to check the source! It's crazy what happened there, and how some little monkeys evolved (of course with little help from humans). Interesting study and some interesting conclusions: "How did the capuchins react? They far preferred to take a gamble on the potential gain than the potential loss.", "it turns out that humans tend to make the same type of irrational decision at a nearly identical rate." I continued my reading at freakonomics, some interesting stuff can be found there.

35. A gambler named Archie Karas went to Las Vegas with $50, gambled it up to $40 million over the next two years, only to lose it all in three weeks. This is crazy! I understand that one million wasn't enough to make him stop! Somehow I can understand 10 millions, but to make 40 millions and to lose all in 3 weeks is literary crazy!

That is interesting, where I live as long as you do not have a gambling problem people do not care that you gamble even those that you could think they will be opposed to it because of their religious beliefs, but that is probably because were I live people are very relaxed and they do not really get into the issues of other people.

Some of those gambling facts were known by me however the one that surprised me the most is the 4th one, I have never heard roulette to be described as the Devil’s game but now that I know that the numbers add to 666 then I can understand why that may be so.

Gambling is all about mind either you lose or you win. Every gambling you bet, there will be always a surprise in it,either  you are a good gambling or not. Gambling is not good for children at the age of 4 to 10 because most of them are still a child in the system.

Catholic and Judaic Priests supporting gambling is something interesting, because in a thread conversation about gambling saw Quran stating gambling is sin. Same as that some made a conversation about Bible verse relating to gambling. The fifth fact is really mind blowing and is controversial. Probably people who are much into religious beliefs will consider it a supporting fact and get into gambling.
If that person is not too "close" with religion, he will not think about the sin or not because he wants to play gambling without thinking much about religion. Maybe on one side, he will realize that it breaks the religion, but on the other side, he wants to feel what inside gambling, although he can lose his money playing gambling. But most religions stating that gambling is a sin, and that will depend on every person itself. And we can not force people to stay away from gambling because that will make each person's decisions.

I would like to add to the Lootbox Fact. There was a scandal that involved two Youtubers playing this lootbox and gaining rare CS:GO cosmetics thus encouraging their viewers who are mostly children to play on the site and gamble their money to loot boxes. It turns out that the owner of the website is the Youtuber which caused backlash and lawsuit.

Fact 31 is by far the funniest one I have known in regards to gambling, we all know that courtroom is not something to get goofy and have fun and games but then it happened. A pinball game in a courtroom is legendary and should be a milestone in gambling history.
