Hi,

I can't choose my own pool. When I set it, it seems to work for a few seconds and then defaults back to the developer's donation pool. Also, one of my miners is not reporting a hash rate. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The slide freq bar is frustrating as it only does 5 mhz increments.  Not good when blades sweet spot is 838.  --freq=838 does not override the slide bar on save.  You have to:
nano /var/www/minera/conf/miner_conf.json
and fix by hand.

I am not a big fan of the slide bar either. Much preferred the input box to enter frequencies. But it is no real big deal for me. I found my sweet spot for the Blades so I doubt I will be making any further adjustments. The Minis I am still tweaking so the input box would be of value as opposed to the slider bar .

Happy Minera Mining!!!

I would like to know what could be the reason for this behavior on Blades. I get enourmous ammounts of invalids, which leads to me being banned from Nicehash. Although i also saw this ridiculous high HR numbers on waffle pool (few GH on 26Mh miner).

Diff got too high?

I run 5 blades on 1pi with minera.  I run so much better on fixed difficulty of 512 or 1024 with 0 invalids/rejects
I've set fixed diff as suggested. Problem remains Sad Getting rejects in intervals and consequently pool changing. Ending up on last, donation pool...

Another option is to save frequencies on dashboard @800. Then go to Settings, copy whole set of frequencies (starting with --gc3355-freq=48FB50683831:800:0,48FB50683831:800:1,48FB50683831:800:2...) and paste it to notepad. Use Replace all ":800" with ":838" and copy+paste it back to Extra command line.

Whew!!!! 43 pages but I finally reached the end!!! I was directed to this forum by @michelem from another forum where I was posting regarding Minera. I wanted to see what other Blade users were discussing. I have now been working with Minera for nearly a week and I think I have found a sweet spot which gives me better results than I have ever had before. My equipment: 10 Gridseed Minis on one RasPi and 3 Gridseed Blades on another RasPi. I got the 10 Minis stable at 3.6Mhs poolside average at Clevermining using 850mhz and auto tuning but I am still getting more hw/rj than I would like. I am working to correct this but everytime I make a change, it takes nearly a full day to get accurate readings to measure performance .

I had a dickens of a time getting the Blades to run stable because at 850mhz and no auto tuning I was throwing hardware errors and rejects like they were going out of style. I also could not get higher than 13.2Mhs poolside average, which was terrible. I am now getting over 15Mhs poolside average with less than 3% hw/rj combined. All I did was lower the frequency to 800mhz!!!! Yeah, who would have thought? Now the Blades are running cooler, using less electricity, and my hashrate has gone up.  Grin

Prior to using the Gridseeds, I was using 4 Sapphire R9280x GPUs but the cost of electricity was killing me. The rig sucked up over 1,400 watts to run a hashrate of a little over 3Mhs total. With the Minis and Blades, I am getting nearly 19Mhs using only 400 watts!!! I actually reduced the power usage by 25 watts when I reduced the Blades down to 800mhz from 850mhz.

I'll report more as time passes to see if things remain stable. For now, I am one happy Minera miner.

What does this mean? Is this a ban or something else?

Code:
[2014-06-18 19:08:18] Checking main pool: stratum+tcp://stratum.nicehash.com:3333
[2014-06-18 19:08:18] stratum_recv_line failed

Michelem, there is problem with failover switching. I have seen these few times now already. When pool0 is dead Minera switches to pool1 it will NEVER check again if pool 0 is alive and move back. Even after pool 1 is dead too it will switch only to pool2... So this thing happens a lot - I end up mining for Donation. Don't get me wrong, I'm quite fond of donations but only when i choose them when. If auto-moving back to pool0 is not possible then Minera needs an option to autorestart miners every x hours, so this thing stopss happening.

Same here. I donated (by bitcoin) directly after downloading the first release so I was hoping to keep my hashes to myself for now Wink

Am away half of the time from the hardware so I wouldn't like such a switchover after I've left for 2 weeks Wink

So I'd like to actually remove the donation pool if this is what happens after a while.

Minera is great stuff!

The main problem I face with G-Blade is that one or both miners die but the self healing does not kick-in 10 minutes after last share time.

Would it be possible to setup some simple SMTP notification in such cases before the full SMTP feature is implemented?

btw Version is not visible following update from today:

Is there a way or command that I can use to check if all the chips on a G-Blade are working in the logger?  Huh I have two G-Blades and one seems to be under performing and i'm getting way to many HW errors:

I think two or more chips are not working  Undecided

Support for CG/BFGMiner and so for Fury, Blizzard, etc is expected for August 2014 less or more.

I am guessing for the timeline this is gonna be a very difficult task? I've got an inside source that other RPI image developers & testers got this working on two miner processes on the rpi. Gridseeds along with the fury.

Please read this: https://github.com/michelem09/minera/issues/46#issuecomment-46159596
That's the plan, will see what I can do.

not sure if this bug was pointed out already but the "Device Tree" and "System load" graphs don`t work on mobile version of the page (android/chrome)

btw... change that damn pool you are using for donations, right now all my hashrate is yours for 30min a day... but i really hate to mine there (ghash.io)

Can you explain "don't work" or send a screenshot? Thanks! (I'm thinking about changing the donation pool)

EDIT: probably I found the problem: https://github.com/aterrien/jQuery-Knob/issues/56. Please can you open a specific issue on Github page? https://github.com/michelem09/minera (include the link I pasted here) Thanks!

that's the Jquery Knob library having problems. Please can you try with another browser on same device? (Like firefox) just to see if it's a problem related only to chrome.
Thanks!

Support for CG/BFGMiner and so for Fury, Blizzard, etc is expected for August 2014 less or more.

LOVE Minera...

Using it exclusively for my small GRIDSEED farm. Any plans for Minera to support either the Fury or Blizzard miners?

@subseaguru can you explain "went offline"? Network problem? Shutdown? Miner up but not hashing or what? If you cannot ssh into it when this happens I strongly suggest to connect a monitor and keyboard you could find the problem at the console login (perhaps space left? Segfault? Kernel Panic? you can see the latest messages from the system if you attach a monitor to it). Or you can reboot and look at system logs like /var/log/syslog.

@Kenta what timer did you speak about? System date/time? Minera should have ntpd installed to keep date/time synced.

For the RPI LCD if someone has one and can do something cool with it I will be glad to insert it into Minera but I wouldn't install all the X server and desktop interface to do that, you should get the JSON from http:///minera/index.php/app/stats and display it into the LCD in a pretty view (The JSON contains all you need to build every "counters" you want).
the miner program on my iphone showed it was offline this morning. i couldnt SSH into it. i couldnt even find it on the network. i wired it directly to my router and found it but it took a few reboots before it came online. after reading Fivejonnyfive's post, i suspect it might be this sd card. its one the i got from GAWminers with a zenminer. i replaced that with a proper c10 and i suspect that is what i need to do now. i cant believe that it just went down without a reason. especially with everyone or nearly everyone having good luck with the software.

Yes, system time doesn't update as ntpd doesn't update. Edit: Changed to UK-time-servers and it appears to be working after a restart.

Regarding the other question, is this something I can use without damaging something else? : http://blog.ricardoarturocabral.com/2013/01/auto-reboot-hung-raspberry-pi-using-on.html

Edit: I have tried this now, and hopefully it will improve. I'll know in a few days.
