The sounds legit as it was posted in different online news channel like cointelegraph and news.bitcoin. Looks like Unicef Australia wants to follow the foot steps of Showtime and Pirate Bay but instead of keeping the money, they would rather donate the proceeds to charitable works. The only difference is Unicef Australia announced that they are using Coinhive to monetize their site, unlike Showtime and Pirate Bay, users are unaware.

While this is without a doubt good news, I don't think it's going to even be a small percentage of the amount of funding that this group receives -- I doubt it will be ANYTHING or even used at all. You have to think about it, people aren't going to be tossing their machines into utter madness (mining, pretty much taxing their PC's) for charity. I'd rather not do that, and donate my FIAT money to the cause -- maybe that's just me, but that is my view on this topic.

I'd love to see a contradiction.

Ladies & Gentlemen.
I saw UNICEF Australia’s tweet https://twitter.com/unicefaustralia/status/990511573553725441 by chance and so i would like to share this information to BTT community. I think that it’s a good news for UNICEF Australia and btt members who would like to support UNICEF Australia to get funded. Btt member can mine cryptocurrencies from home with our home's power. I do think that there are many btt members willing to support UNICEF Australia for funding life-saving aid for children in crisis

Thank you

are you sure that is really true ? if yes it is a good news indeed. and if it is unicef, that must be not fraud.
there are many children and peoples suffering and we need to help them. using cryptocurrency is a good choice.

thanks for the information. this is good news. and I am very supportive. not just UNICEF. but we and all bitcoin users have an important task to help them. especially people who can not afford and poor.

this is a noble deed, we do not forget them, because they are a part of life. and bitcoin can give them a good life

Need to re-validate the news related because of the rise of fraud yan in the name of various charities to help the various crises that exist in this world. Caring for others is important but do not make it just for the benefit of using only ways that are not allowed.

That's pretty cool. After the latest Craig Write article I read about him defrauding government grants to buy Bitcoin mining machines and things like that years ago, under the guise of charity or scientific research, I wonder if actual grants can now be given to Australians who will build massive computer systems to support that UNICEF project, if it is officially recognized. Something to consider for people living there!

Yes, that's a great news and I have already started participating in this noble cause. This will not only help the charities out there for crowdfunding but also it will help cryptocurrencies to build goodwill across the globe by making aware more and more people. The most important factor is that it will change the mind of people who think crypto is just a scam and that is the biggest achievement for us by supporting such efforts.

UNICEF using coinhive for this LOL
Have to appreciate this innovation but they can easily make their own platform to mine with few hundred bucks investment and get 100% of the mined coins.

Around 6000 people mining at a time is pretty significant which might drop in future when this news will drop from media.

Looks like We are not only donating to poor children through this, coinhive is also sucking good bucks from our computing power  Grin Grin

Well this is a good news. If many cryptocurrency miners will support this kind of activity then this could change the way people will look at cryptocurrency and bitcoin. Bitcoin has suffered too much from bad publicity such as scams and hoax news, maybe this time through this activity bitcoin can claim its reputation by helping the children in need.
