Nobody pointed this out, but an U3 might not be the best choice...

I was looking in to buying one of those, but it seems they go zombie quite often, slashing your profit... I'd rather go for an S3 or something...

The only devices capable of mining SHA256 coins like Bitcoin or Scrypt coins like Litecoin at a profit, or even close to being able to do so, are ASIC - and there are some older ASIC devices that can no longer mine profitably. This has been true of Scrypt for almost 2 years now, and quite a bit longer for SHA256.

FORGET trying to mine Bitcoin with any GPU, much less any CPU, unless you like giving your money away for no reason to your electric company.

Laptops have ALWAYS been a bad idea for any sort of 24/7 usage in any case, they tend to be too marginal on cooling to survive long-term when used heavily.

Forget trying to mine ANY coin profitably with Intel graphics. VERY low performance, VERY low efficiency, compared to Nvidea or AMD/ATI graphic offerings.
Even the AMD/ATI and Nvidea graphic cards need to be current-generation or at most one-gen old to be profitable - Nvidea Maxwell or AMD 2xx/3xx offerings depending on the specific coin, though most coins seem to like the Maxwell cards the best right now.

Forget trying to mine ANY coin profitably with ANY CPU, unless the coin is very very new and doesn't have a GPU miner available yet.

Hey everyone. I want to mine some bitcoins..
the thing is that Idk if I can do that and you said its not worth it..
my pc is: Asus ROG Gl551JW-Ds71
CPU: i7- 4720HQ 2.6 up to 3.6GhZ
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 960M 2GB.
I wanted to know if this computer could earn something for me or not
+ I wanna know how much it can earn for me/lose- less or more how much per day ( if you might guess or know by knowledge )

Second thing:
I have another pc and I will tell you the GPu and the CPu/

CPU: i7 - 5500u 2.4GHZ up  to 3Ghz
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GT ( or gtx ) 840M 2GB

Same questions about that laptop. thanks everyone who help Smiley

that specs may be high in laptop or desktop ends but it will not earn you bitcoins mining on that   ....i myself had 4gb amd radeon fixed on my desktop....but it doesnt earns me so much....you have to buy ASIC miner ,see it like an investment which will give u returns....You invest on ASIC miner...You work daily with it and can earn bitcoins more than the bitcoins that your laptop mines......there are also some guys who sells ASIC miners here...get one and hit mining now...Smiley

Mining with your PC/laptop is = burning your PC/laptop
Laptops, or desktops actually, will not earn any bitcoins anymore.  You need an ASIC to earn any amount of bitcoins.  Try looking up Bitmain...they are the only company shipping new units at the moment.

I wouldn't even recommend trying it out on your laptop.  The pool will probably not recognize such a low hashrate and you will just burn your computer out pretty fast.
And i think, ASIC's are also not enough. If you want, you'll need bunch of ASIC's.

It's not worth it.  They only thing you may achieve is burning up your graphics processor on your notebook if you don't have good ventilation.

If you are thinking about using the CPU or GPU on your laptop to do the mining of any coin, it's a bad fit. Generally mininh is considered a 24/7 operation running flat out. Laptops are not designed for that kinf usage. Their cooling system won't handle it long term, nor will the other components. Laptops work great for 5-10 second bursts of speed, and then lots of idle time.

Do the work for me? I couldn't find some of the parameters like hardware power + cost of maintain and delivery ( which I don't know if exist )
With the U3 @63Ghs You should see around 8-10 Cent a day. Now keep in mind that with difficulty increases that figure will go down fast.

I think they are good for lotto mining.  Or learning mining possibly.

These are not something you plan to ROI on.  Its in the fun category.
Oh yes my Gridseed Orb was bought for the same reason as a toy to learn with. Now its hashing away on Slush's pool hoping to hit a block lol.

This is from Bitmains website.  It says 1 watt/GH.  The unit does 63 GH/s, so 63 *1 = 63 watts of power.  No maintenance costs, and you need to add it to your cart and go to the checkout to figure out your delivery costs.

Wrong place of purchase.  MOQ: 20. total 1.739 BTC
 ( 400 USD )

I can;t calculate cuz I don;t know all of the parameters can u pls last thing check for me how much profir per day / week I can make from :

ANTMINER U3 BATCH 2
and also : APW3-12-1600-B2
before bills and payments for power and stuff?
Ty very much..

What parameters don't you know?  Everything you need is listed on Bitmains website.  Just type it into the calculator.  I was more than willing to help when you had questions but I won't do the work for you.  Thats why I said play around with it, you won't learn anything if I do it all for you.

With the above configuration, test with quark, x11, x13 algo's (ccminer) etc. Though you may not get big rewards, you will get to know the hash rate vs difficulty. So, identify coins with less difficulty and start testing.

Laptops in general are bad idea for ASIC mining as high temperatures often degrade the hardware overtime. Laptops hardware have a low TDP and performance, they are never designed for 24 hours usage.

you said I have to connect it to my computer. but last time you said PC isn't good enough for that. so the connection just make the ASIC work, but doesn't take anything from my pc's power/?
+ can you recommend me for any ASiC. telling me less or more it's profit?

Your PC basically acts as a host to feed information into the ASIC and the ASIC would output the solution to send to the pool. Unless it is a USB miner without a power cord, it would not take much power from the USB itself. The profit would vary in a number of factors, namely, difficulty, bitcoin price, electrical fees and space fees (if applicable).Look through bitmain website and start to input numbers into here https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/calculator. It would give you a vague estimation of the profit. I would be more generous with the difficulty increase though.

ye I looked for some of these things.
I want to know how much will be my profit incase I buy this one ''ANTMINER U3 BATCH 2''
just wanna know the profit if it works 24/7 .. ( per day or something )..

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/calculator

Go to that website and play with the calculator, it will tell you everything you need to know about profit and loss on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

An ASIC is a completely separate device from your computer.  It is basically a computer itself, but only does 1 function.  Sometimes, you need to use your computer to relay the data to the pool you are mining at, most of the time, you plug it straight into the router.

Go look up Bitmain and maybe you will get a better idea of what it is.
