Well it's nice to know they didn't try and steal your money. Or someone at the Bank. Just a form error. Sometimes they don't make it easy to know exactly what info they need in the forms.

Bitstamp replied yesterday. My $64000 has been recovered and currently exchanging back to bitcoin as I write.

I had made a terrible mistake when I filled out the withdrawal request. I put the "example" account number (as provided by my bank) in the bank account number form line and the real account number I put in the "beneficiary account address" where in fact I should have put my POSTAL address here. This caused the funds to be transferred as the account was actually valid although my name is not on that account.

Even though it was my mistake perhaps some data checking was in order. If there seems to be a bad postal address and instead there is what appears to be an account number, maybe some clarification is in order.

Regardless of this positive outcome, I wished Bitstamp would have been more prompt in their support tickets. It took 7 weeks to get the issue resolved whet it should have been 2 at the most.

Bitstamp just replied: Their bank has still no results from the wire trace. They will update me as soon as they hear news from their bank. Oh well, communication is still alive.

I regret to inform that Bitstamp has yet again fallen completely silent on my issue. They were going to do a trace on the wire transfer and even charged me 25 euros for it but...

NADA.

After 6 weeks Still missing $64000 USD

Bitstamp -should- have no issue handling 100K+ withdraws.

It doesn't. It must have to do something with it being an international transfer or something.

Withdrawing $USD 100K+ went smoothly for you?

Yes, but sepa not international transfer. Apart from waiting for 2 weeks to get verified and having to answer a shitton of aml/kyc questions everything went very smoothly.

Bitstamp is the familiar bitcoin wallet, how it could be like that? It's look like difficult to find any one to be trust! ... I hope you'll solve your problem. GBU

Hope you get it resolved.  To everyone else thinking about making a big $ withdrawl, I recommend converting large blocks of BTC into gold.

I requested a transfer trace Monday. Bitstamp replied yesterday that they have asked their bank to do the transfer trace and will get back to me when they have a result from their bank.

I hope it doesn't take too long.

I requested the details of the wire they sent so I can check with my bank. And thats what they replied.

So , at least they told you that they've already sent the wire payment , didn't they?

So , you updated the post , and said that you got an update and a response from bitstamp.
What  did they say , your transaction as never processed , they already sent the money , they don't have a clue about your issue?

I asked Bitstamp before requesting the withdrawal. if they could foresee any problems sending this amount to Mexico. They confirmed that there would be none. I also asked my bank if there are any restrictions or limits in international wire transfers and they told me there would be none. At the most I might have to fill out a form declaring the source of the money for AML requirements.

it could be a problem of international transfer. These suck because some banks just take your money.

Also i would send in 1/10-amounts, not all together.

There could be a second source of the problem. In a lot of countries amounts over 10000 USD/€ or whatever
are seen as suspicious and potential drug money. So Banks are allowed to hold and call the police...
You can google it if this applies to the country where Bitstamps is, i guess it will be so.

It's smtms problematic going over 45k... Payza has such limitations as well on bankwires. If they limit it's for a reason...
