Just bumped into Grobogan - https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/grobogan-900939

"Is it better to save money or invest it?"

Saving is putting money aside bit by bit, to make a lump sum. You need to save for a particular goal, like having money for a holiday, a depoist on house, or any emergencies that might crop up. Often saving is taken to mean putting your money into cash products, like bank and building society accounts, and thats how define savings.

Good job, Rizz.

I happened upon some jerk who copied part of one of my posts earlier this year, and I must say I was at first flattered.   And then I quickly reported his stupid bug-eating ass.

So much more entertaining than pressing the report button!  Cheesy

just looking at PieCrafted. I was sure he was on my farmed list, cant find him there though, maybe i've yet to post him!
https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/piecrafted-552962
followed his posts to "Do you use a bot for trading?"  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1638032.msg16688871.

Jeez, the whole thread is teaming with famed accounts, and PieCrafted copy pasting.

Thank you very much for sharing your experience. It must be really a great help to this community. I really appreciate it.

Bots are working as per predetermined parameters. So, expecting them to perform well for all type of market conditions is completely meaningless. If we are having some knowledge on setting up those parameters, we will be get chances to make them work according to market conditions but it is not for beginners, only advanced traders could do this.

ok, i see other examples of copy paste now. Clearly different writing to his not copy paste posts.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/will-the-us-dollar-dominate-bitcoin-trading-1502044

If I am correct the US dollar is already dominating the Bitcoin trading because most people are selling there Bitcoins against the US dollar.
I think that this is going to be the same for a long time I do not see any reason why people would trade in for a other currency.

Oh, he's been busy today,

Nobody should neither impose hard fork nor soft fork without consensus IMHO, not even on core.

Although I believe that with a soft fork, everything keeps working for everyone and with a hard fork there are users who can't see some transactions, and think they haven't gotten paid when they have.
But with soft forks, the protocol in 10 or 20 years is going to be a horrible and confusing mess.

TL;DR soft forks are grotesque. Hard forks are violent.

ok, 1 more from today, i'll have a quick look if this is a new habit for him, or not.

I think storing is not against the bitcoin alrotugh its not pretty good for the economy a lot of people are doing this because if the fact that the bitcoin is gonna rise in its price.
This price increase is because of the halving and people are waiting on it because of that.

Im guessing the OP thought he had busted a Staff Member breaking rules.

Yeah, i think i did.
Did i think anything would happen? nah.

I did slate you once for no real reason, always meant to apologise, never did. I chilled, as you suggested. (apologies now)

Blimey, thank you sir.

Do you search snippets of a quote or do you search the whole thing?

Could be either, i think google only uses the first 30ish words. Depends what mood googles in also.

Sometimes if looking at someones post history, you may notice they suddenly speak, or write differently, maybe they suddenly speak prefect English, before suddenly loosing that ability again.

It is pot luck, and you will not find many. I don't look much.
It is quite unbelievable that someone would copy paste such spam trash posts as above, (manyute)
It must be just as quick to type a near as copy, like the shitposters he copied off, and not risk a ban!

Added

snip... They tend to do it in the big threads with 40+ pages but not exclusively.

I think that was the case here.
Maybe the threads that manyute posted in need looking at as part of the close a useless thread thing you got going.
At least in discussion.
There is even "Would you like to receive your salary in Bitcoin?" in discussion, and "Will you accept Bitcoin as your salary?" in off topic.
Which manyute replied to both!

I wish there was a script for this because copy and pasting is rife and quite difficult to spot especially if you're not looking out for it and it's extremely time-consuming to do so. The only real way to catch them is to copy a few fairly unique words or a typo that stands out and put them in the search but even they can bring up pages of results along with all the posts that have quoted it. They tend to do it in the big threads with 40+ pages but not exclusively.

Do you search snippets of a quote or do you search the whole thing? I don't know much about coding but this seems like something someone could make a script for that if they see say 20 words the same in a row they get notification somehow.
If you want, you can automate anything. You don't have to search snippts, depends on the posts actually.Copy pasting in google search links to the actual bitcointalk comment, multiples if any.The problem is you don't know out of the million posts which one's are copy pasted, you gotta pick your targets manually.

TL;DR how do you find copy/pasted posts, manually or with software?

Manually for me. Google search, not forum search.

Is there a software you or anyone else uses to find these copy and pasted posts? I tried basic things like searching parts of posts on the forum search and google but even when I know it's copy and pasted (because someone has reported it like on this thread) I can't find the posts at all.

I think for now gold is better than bitcoin because gold has already established a track record and people know what is gold and that it can protect them or its like an insurance for them if they have money problems, they can always sell the gold  in exchange for fiat and it has higher value than bitcoin. But when bitcoin will be of higher value than gold and it would be more popular then  it would be better than gold because you can carry it wherever you want and no one knows that you have a lot of money since its anonymous.

the question is why would you not accept Bitcoin as your salary?  It is the same ass taking cash in your local currency, it is just in another form.  It would be like taking gold or silver instead of receiving USD for me.

Of course, I would love to receive my salary in BTC. Actually I am already receive some of my salary in BTC as I have an online work or job that pays BTC while in my day job I am paid in my countries currency automatically credited into my bank account during payday.

And a few from his last session,
I guess that stealing Bitcoin is illegal because if they do not belong to you then it is still considered stealing even if people think that Bitcoin is illegal as well.
So yes stealing Bitcoin is still not legal but there is not much that can be done if it happens.

in our area still there is not a single department who have accepted bitcoin, therefore bitcoin need some more effort to become popular, but it is also a fact that the number of bitcoin users is increasing day by day.

I think holding the bitcoin for a long time is good although its depending on what you of course consider as a long time.
Most of the times a long time can be good its just a matter of time these days to make profit with the bitcoin.

Thank you.

I forgot where I got them from. Edited post to reference original. I was not staff back then. I tend to copy paste good ideas from where ever I read them, just keep notes in notepad or paste into some random text file in my tablet or laptop.

Feel free to let me know of any other posts (of mine particularly) as I've done a few thousand of them over the past couple of years.

I am not going to justify anything, I just believe that the message is more important than the messenger. It doesn't matter who says it. Also, unlike others, I have no motive or incentive to do random copy pastes, I don't join sig campaigns or make money that way.
