My first post... I came out of lurking because I was researching this one and wanted to share.

I was immediately leery of this coin throwing around the VISA(R) trademark with all the indicators of a scam coin until I looked their members' LinkedIn pages and particularly this bitcoin podcast where (allegedly) Kris Marszalek is speaking at quite length about Monaco:

http://thebitcoinpodcast.com/announcements-episode1/

And unfortunately, I live in the U.S. so I can throw in on this.  Good luck to everyone else.  From my standpoint this seems to be legitimate-- just poorly orchestrated.

I do not believe all that, how do you know that the monaco project is a scam? I think it's just nonsense that is not necessarily true, because all this is not clear enough to know the evidence of fraud.
Agreed, I remain optimistic and positive thinking is just an issue and has not been proven. If there is a violation there is sure to act.

Maybe I guess they just hear what people say, do not prove it and see it for themselves, if you want to say it like that you have to give proof so everyone knows and believe what you say is true.

I was about to buy some till i saw this thread  Cheesy

So if a bunch of random people tell you the earth is flat, then it's suddenly flat?

Basically everything people find suspicious has been explained in their slack channel ( search for it ) https://monaco-card.slack.com/.

Too many suspicious things in this project and the important reason if the community does not really need this project, And why? because there is Tokencard to prove his result to the public of crypto.  My thought if that was caused by money and money. There is no a reason can be determined as a positive reason to support this one, Another said if the code has cloned from another project.
Which means to prove his credibility.

Tokencard sold their ICO under the guise of a partnership with VISA (see web.archive.org early May version of the tokencard website)

In reality they don't have any partnership with a major payment network. (note all references to VISA are now gone, along with logos on cards)

They are selling a prepaid card, of many already on the market, by bigger players.

Monaco also.

There is nothing special about these card projects, they are not like Sia or Storj or iEx.ec or Maidsafe or IPFS, they do not have technical hurdles to cross. They are as clonable as Bitcoin to Litecoin to Dogecoin to Shitcoin. They make a fancy wordpress site, pay a company to manage the ICO, and cash out.

Hello everyone, we have been contacted by Virginia Lam who is part of Monaco ICO team. They were interested in listing Monaco ICO at http://icoindex.com/.

We never heard about the project before so we told them they will first need to go through our verification process before being listed at ICOindex.

Their response was negative and they offered us "$0.05 for listing".

We quickly found out why they refused to get verified after reading through this Bitcointalk thread and watching this video from Boxmining youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUBC8_orpXc&list=TLGGU2IOFOgSTPYyNTA1MjAxNw

First of all, I would like to thank all of you in this thread for taking your time to gather all suspicious information about this project. I also want to thank Boxmining for making a video about the controversy of Monaco ICO and for warning many people.

ICOindex is NOT another ICO site that lists all ICOs regardless of their quality. We want to bring added value for people that are interested in ICOs but want to avoid scam and suspicious projects. That is why we verify the projects before being listed.

ICOindex is a community-based project for ICO enthusiasts and investors who want to find reliable information about ICOs at one place. We need people like you who are able to bust scams and suspicious ICO projects before they raise money from naive people.

I would like to invite all of you to join our slack chat. (https://icoindex-official.herokuapp.com/) Subscribe to our newsletter on our website http://icoindex.com/. We also have a facebook group where you can discuss Initial Coin Offerings https://www.facebook.com/groups/InitialCoinOffering/
Kindly show that messge here ,i am bounty participant,it will help me a lot .
By the way if i remember correctly you have listed respectomy as well which was a complete scam.

Today you just can't be scammer without full bag of BTC and ETH. To clarify this, money invested in marketing, signature and twitter campaign is fantastic. You just feel comfortable when you see everyone talks about it, conclusion: This must be good opportunity, right?  Huh

But what i'm talking about?!  Smiley  ETH is centralized system, was very successful ICO, and people now creating business base on it..I will wait to see what is going to be. Maybe blame can go at PR management.. Wink

Problem with crowdfunding is nobody likes it but majority join at the end..Every ICO lately was sell out and almost every created new record..Who buys them?
We are all aware of risk, but still this rising more and more every day, you almost cannot find "no premine" coins any more.
        Why?
If we find answer for this maybe we wont need this kind of threads any more.

That is a very good point.  You can see my thread:

Everyone should approach an ICO as a scam until proven otherwise and I'm sorry Monaco has not yet proven otherwise, too many questions and inconsistencies remain.

Monaco team has a proven track record and is much more professional and business oriented than the TKN team. TKN team is just a bunch of young 20 year old pc gamers by the look of things.

Hi Everyone. I saw my video was already posted, but here was my quick research. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUBC8_orpXc

I saw a registered company called Fortis Limited in HK and I will do a bit more research on it.

The irony is that some viewers reported this is a monaco visa card ad that plays before my video, the irony.

I must say that I ejoyed the video and you raised wome real concerns.  I interviewed the CEO addressing many of the issues.  Here is the link:

https://urbancrypto.com/interview-monaco-visa-ceo/

Let me know what you think.

That's a very cool interview. and it's cool that you got to interview them.
I can say nothing is conclusive at this point. The thing is when investing it's important to do the homework and remain skeptical. I'm glad you did the interview

It's just an unproven issue, stay calm and I believe the project and its goals will end well.
