I would be shocked if they made any substantive comment, which raises the interesting question of why they pre-announced the announcement in the first place.  My guess is that this was just a reflexive response to buy some time.  They figured, probably correctly, that most people would be perfectly willing to give them the weekend to work it out.

Did they not even think through what would happen when they had nothing to say for themselves on Monday?  Or were they perhaps delusional enough to believe that they could fix a major technical problem that quickly?

I just hope someone was there making sure they didn't sell all their bitcoin and run!

Manual BTC transfers.

Due to the volume they will take 3+ weeks to process.

This. Just like they did with wires. Now it is "manual" and that will take 3-12 weeks to clear the back log.  Grin

That sounds reasonable lol.  Cheesy

The strange thing about this story was how it could take him 16 hours to go from Australia to Japan.

Trust me, if you're flying from a city with no direct flights to Tokyo (like Melbourne) it can easily take that long once you transfer in a place like Sydney, Gold Coast or Cairns. He probably didn't have a wide selection of flights at short notice, either.

Too early, Mark has to arrive at work late in the morning with his fancy dessert coffee as per that hilarious Reddit article where some Australian guy went to go protest them to get his coins back (and never got them back).

And the "good news" was they put his coins that were stuck in withdrawal back into his account.

I think most everyone is hoping they will say everything is working smoothly now. However, from their track record I doubt that will be the case. I am curious, if they have not fixed it, if that will cause an even bigger panic.

Another excuse as to why these problems always seem to happen with gox.  Probably some sort of fix that coding wise is only a temporary fix and in the future we will hear another excuse as to why problems happen again.

If they announce any sort of fix I would take it with a huge grain of salt , many people in the know have stated that the coding gox does is very bad and they keep applying "band-aids" to try to fix something that needs to be scratched and re-done completely.

They need more time, or some generic 2-liner excuse, basically nothing that matters.

1. They need more time.

2. They are not enabling withdrawals
