Corruption become a culture in the Philippines. It started by the Spaniards. The Spaniards descendants control most of the land of the Philippines and Chinese descendants control most of the Trade. The real Filipino is on the lowest on the society or working abroad as slaves. The only way to stop the corruption is to distribute the land and stop monopolies of the spaniards/american/chinese descendants.
Those corruption were already there before duterte became president. The only thing right now is that itcis being revailed and unlike before where everything is being hidden because of the political support. Worsen? DRUGS are just a vehicle for people's distress. The real problem with pinoy land is the rampant poverty which fuels the corruption and drug taking. He's nothing more than a murderer and a stupid leader. If he focused on poverty things would get better. Without addressing that glaring issue things will stay the same. If the former, good luck building a wall on the sea. It's more likely that China would have the Philippines block entry into Asia to stop Americans meddling with them. Go get a map and look at it.

Why is this such a big news? Such incidents are very frequent in almost all the third world countries. It is not something which is unique to the Philippines. Go to any third world nation such as Cambodia, India, Nigeria, or Kenya. You will find hundreds of similar incidents every day.

The sad thing is, this is kinda how it works with leaders who are going to try radical ideas like this. No one has really tried it before so we really don't know what's going to end up happening. I think if Durante increased the wage of the police officers and other public servants then tried to do full raids against the drug monopolies and such he'd do it with more success.
Because as we know now, the police and other officials are probably just simply paid off by the drug cartels and theres nothing Durante can do without the support of the underlyings under him. That's what tough about trying to reform and rule over a corruption riden government.
I do wish him luck though, he's trying to fight the good fight and save his country.

there is nothing new to all these but we're pretty much trying to improve our ways. i think there is the need to loss value to all these fiat so these billionaire will soon be poor like what happen to zimbabwe. and we can then start with crypto for less corruption.
This is an example of the fact that no cause can justify the violation of the law. Duterte now will use illegal tactics against the opposition, and the reward for loyalty is to allow the police to break the law and Rob people.
That is right, I cannot understand why so many people say that the end justifies the means.This phrase is very stupid, it does not look like that. We cannot lose our moral laws just because we are having some desires, to become rich, powerful or anything else.
My perspective is that in every case we can do anything we want, unless it is not harmful in anyway for society. But corruption is something illegal and bad, because you may avoid the punishment just because you can afford that: which is not right with other people, who has got sentenced for the same thing.
About corruption, I have heard that also Russia has this problem. Im afraid that it is a common issue in a less developed countries.
