Do not risk what you cannot afford to lose.' Believe me, this simple advice can transform your overall perspective toward gambling, and you will enjoy it much more.

Believe me, all the redundant advice that you gave are already being discussed and commented many times on bunch of gambling discussion related gambling advice.

All the point that you mention is correct but the only problem is execution in actual gambling game since it’s very hard to control your emotions when you are in the presence of gambling. You can’t stop yourself to do careless move when you are gambling so it’s better to have a limitation set before you gamble at all.

Right, we agree with that.

We often discuss it on several occasions in various threads. however, the real problem is not a matter of taking it lightly and forgetting the concepts and ideas that we often discuss as stated by OP. in fact what OP said or suggested is a good idea so that we do not gamble excessively, especially the idea that we can enjoy every game session. but the real problem lies with us gamblers ourselves, where emotions often play a role that makes us careless and difficult to control ourselves when playing. whatever type of game, if we are careless, we have the potential to experience a defeat that costs a lot of money even though it should have been avoided if we were aware of our limits. but this is the type of entertainment that involves the risk of losing money in it, after all, if luck is on our side, the money we get from winning can be worth the risk. if not, maybe not many people like gambling. although, many say it is difficult to beat the house. but this is gambling, if more gamblers win, it means that many houses will not last long in this business.

We have often heard the words "Don't bet what you can't afford to lose" and almost all gamblers know that this is true but it's up to each of them because we can only give advice no more than that.

After all, gambling is for fun, I'm not looking for excessive profits when there are multipliers that are won then this is a bonus from a game that is won if you lose then we must be prepared.

The advice is so simple that almost everyone takes it carelessly and forgets. Gambling is fun and entertaining, but since most of us forget this simple advice, it becomes a source of stress (financial, physical, and mental) and guilt. I am going to reiterate the golden rule: 'Do not risk what you cannot afford to lose.' Believe me, this simple advice can transform your overall perspective toward gambling, and you will enjoy it much more.
This simple advice needs some training and conditioning. Just use it sincerely in your next couple of gambling sessions, and you will never be the same miserable, guilt-ridden person again.
Though there will be an instant urge to deposit double after you lose your intended money, perhaps you can remember this post and go for a walk, exercise, watch a movie, prepare food, etc. You will definitely feel much better.

Edit: This topic is oriented towards amateur gamblers (not for professionals gambling for living).
This is an advice that applies to almost everything and not only to gambling, after all I have seen a lot of people that take risks and then they are mad that things did not go as they wanted, but what were they expecting? There is nothing on this world that is a sure thing, so thinking that a bunch of games that were made with the sole intention of providing entertainment in exchange of money can be predictably beaten is a huge mistake.

Assuming people can be able to take gambling warnings and self-control lessons seriously, there could have been fewer addiction cases around on the internet, and there could have also been a lot of casinos that could have run out of business a long time ago because there would be no careless gamblers out there to feed them with hefty amounts of money that would keep them in business.
Nothing aside from me the truth, not everyone around the world can be successfully cleared from addiction or doing more than supposed. Just that we in the forum is exposed with a lot knowledge which helps us to limit the course of being addicted, now we know anyone active in the gambling discussion board and is still yet addicted has no circumstances to blame rather it happend because he/she wanted it that way. A lot of topics has been raised concerning unhealthy gambling and all should be taking seriously, thanks to OP who aswell raised back the consciousness to be more visible to those who recently joined this space and a reminder to those who have been.

'Do not risk what you cannot afford to lose.'
...or better put it this way, "do not bother gambling if you cannot afford to lose your money".

Many people do not wish to lose money no matter how little the money may be, but these same people will go ahead to gamble and even invest in high risk investments just because they stand a chance to win big. Greed has pushed many to a corner where they have to live with regrets for a very long time or even a lifetime.

Gambling is not for the weak. Everyone understands how they feel about taking risks, anyone who is not comfortable with risks should not be tempted to gamble. There are lots of other risk free opportunities they can enjoy and earn from, they should go for them and save themselves the stress of mourning over their loss.

Yeah! But the problem is, it's easier said than done. Gambling can be mighty addicting.  Folks think it'll be no big deal to set a limit or walk away, but when that bell dings signaling a win, common sense flies out the window! The euphoria of beating the odds...  and it all clouds judgment something fierce.  Next thing you know, the wallet's empty and youre begging the dealer for one more pull of the lever to try and get it all back.  Which is exactly what the bigwig casino owners want - keep them playing come hell or high water.  They make it so dang easy to keep plunking coin after coin into those rigged bandits, knowing full well the house always wins in the end.  So, sticking to limits with gambling? Easier said than done, friend.  Easier said than done.

Well, I think it is different when you are talking about enjoying and being able to risk something. Having the right mindset will give you the best results in the long run. I agree that the golden rule should be followed, and simple self-control should also be necessary.

The critical Part of this Is to Have a different outlook on gambling and not treat it as an income generator.
The last word of your sentence is a very important word in my opinion, as long as gambling is not made a place to earn money, a source of income or earn a living is a thing that will bring us closer to the pleasure of gambling.

The rule will work very effectively and there will be no excessive emotions in gambling, such as chasing defeat and so on that trigger the kit to spend far more money on irresponsible gambling.

I am going to reiterate the golden rule: 'Do not risk what you cannot afford to lose.'
I believe we should attach another piece of advice to this because some gamblers are unaware that they do not need to gamble always.

When you cannot afford to lose anything, do not risk anything by gambling. Gambling should not be done always and at all times; gambling must be done from a comfortable position, not a position of pressure.

Even though this statement is not new, it is important we keep laying emphasis on it because it is the golden rule like you said. It helps the gambler in monitoring his financial commitment to gambling to see if the limit is being exceeded or not. When we put this in practice, things like gambling addiction will naturally disappear because we will gamble within our means.

Edit: This topic is oriented towards amateur gamblers (not for professionals gambling for living).
Even experienced gamblers do forget this rules once in a while especially when they experience winning regularly at which point the confidence level will be so high that they might ignore this golden rule. It happens to me sometimes that is how I know that even experience gamblers need to always be reminded of this rule.

No doubts this point of yours is very true and correct, the golden yet very simple rule and advice is one that majority gamblers know off and are very aware of but the challenge has always been in them keeping and adhering to it over the years, if only a good percentage of gamblers are going to keep to this rule and advise them I'm sure we are going to have lesser cases of gambling issues and that which makes people see gambling in a bad light meanwhile it's actually not but the gamblers who have approached it wrongly.

Gambling with that which you can easily be able to afford to loose and still not get moved have to be a very important advice if anyone must enjoy gambling as a form of entertainment actually as it should be, because that way you become very likely to enjoy gambling completely without any tension in you, your emotions too wouldn't be carried along because you know it's an anonymous you can easily let go and still be very fine with, another have to be that gambling shouldn't be done all the time but when the need for entertainment arise and should be done in moderation even at that point.

The golden rule is crucial for all amateur players. Op made some recurring points, which already exist on this board. I'd tag his thread as a reminder for viewers who have yet to embrace the need to wager bit by bit. Gambling is enjoyable when we don't regret our actions. And nobody will ever regret losing out some units in dollars. The pain follows when greed creeps in; losing thousands of dollars in gambling guarantees pain. Indeed, when gamblers are not greedy, they'll be entertained by gambling.

I know, this advise is for new gamblers, because many old gamblers understood it very well not to gamble with what they cannot afford to lose, and they know some games to Play that will make them not to lose so much which is the experience  professional gamblers have to be different from new gamblers. I have some daily budget on gambling  which there is nothing will make me to gamble above my budget because I don't want to experience some challenges that will make me not to control my emotion on gambling which is the major challenge of some new gamblers in the society today.

If you take it as an investment, it will be very hard for you to enjoy gambling like the way other people that take it as entertainment are enjoying it.

Don’t make it over complicated. The easiest way to enjoy gambling is play the games you will enjoy the most. All the advice about “play what you can afford” and other tips are just way to avoid addiction problem when lose but you will not really enjoy doing it because the game itself is the responsible for your enjoyment.

For me, I just keep playing games that interest me such as specific slot games from Play’n Go and other provider, playing live games and casual bet on sports that I watch is already enough to secure enjoyment regardless of the result.

To be honest, these pieces of advice should also been given to the professional and experienced gamblers as well and not only to the new ones. Since emotions are too much involved in gambling, even experienced gamblers need refreshers about the do's and don't in gambling so that they remain on track and do not make emotional mistakes.

It would be even better if gambling sites make such golden rules of gambling and remind gamblers to read them every now and then, so that the gamblers do not use excessive money or do not take gambling results too seriously. However, most gambling sites would not care much about the gambler's habit and do not care whether a he or she is a responsible gambler.

This advice is timeless and probably the best advice gamblers can give to new gamblers, seasoned gamblers are fully aware of this and casinos have it in their terms to give warnings to their players to play safe and only play with money that they can afford to lose.

If all gamblers will just practice this, we will have fewer chronic gamblers who bet everything as if there's no more tomorrow.

Yes, it's obvious that is is one of the most important adage in gambling, and for sure we have this in our mind when we play and gamble. But most of the time we totally forget about this philosophy and we are carried to deposit for more and continue to play. Our emotions played with us so it's very difficult to control it.

With that, maybe you have developed it through years or experienced on how to fight it. Last night I have this urge, I have deposited twice already and lost, and so I was battling with my inner self to deposit for the third time and try to recoup my losses. However, difficult as it may sound, I just used to pass the time and walk around and watch youtube to calm me down until I fall asleep.

Yes, gambling is a type of gaming and it's mostly for the sake of entertainment only. I know that some people do make make in gambling but those are the lucky ones.

I suggest everyone to consider gambling as a type of entertainment and never consider it as a source of income. It's going to give you some profits here and there but it can't replace other income sources at all.

We talk about this a lot, and the phrase "don't gamble more than you can afford to lose" is a phrase that every gambling head has, because it is the norm for people who gamble to find pleasure in gambling (supposedly).

I am an amateur gambler, but I always stick to the principles that make me much safer in gambling, and your last sentence which is not directed at a breadwinner in gambling is someone who is more amateur in my opinion.
