I am going to reiterate the golden rule: 'Do not risk what you cannot afford to lose.' Believe me, this simple advice can transform your overall perspective toward gambling, and you will enjoy it much more.
This simple advice needs some training and conditioning. Just use it sincerely in your next couple of gambling sessions, and you will never be the same miserable, guilt-ridden person again.

Yes, it's still and will always be the best advice, but for you to follow it with your heart, you have to go through a lot of trials. I received this advice when I was starting out, but I was so stubborn in believing that I could win the challenge that I lost a lot, and many of those losses were money that I should not have lost.

But control in gambling is best learned through experience; you have to go through tough times to learn the real lesson, and so far, I'm doing good with how I allocate funds for gambling.

That's actually true... You see, the problem is usually about who's involved... It's an decision based on individual difference -- especially since every gambler has an orientation, which is determined by how much they're worth, or how much is they earn monthly or annually.

Though there will be an instant urge to deposit double after you lose your intended money, perhaps you can remember this post and go for a walk, exercise, watch a movie, prepare food, etc.
"Desperation" can kill any memory and alter any strategy, no matter how formidable it may have been... I've paid several debts to cover up the company's daily voucher as a cashier, on behalf of some of my loyal customers that may push too hard sometimes and are left with nothing but huge debt to balance up .. They always made a refund afterwards though.

The advice is so simple that almost everyone takes it carelessly and forgets. Gambling is fun and entertaining, but since most of us forget this simple advice, it becomes a source of stress (financial, physical, and mental) and guilt. I am going to reiterate the golden rule: 'Do not risk what you cannot afford to lose.' Believe me, this simple advice can transform your overall perspective toward gambling, and you will enjoy it much more.

As it has always been said several times in so many different threads here, that risk what you can afford to lose ,sounds simple right? but very difficult for majority of people in the gambling world to keep, this simple rule would determine how profitable or broke you would become in this industry on the long run. History has it that majority of the times, those that think they can risk high and earn big, reverse has always been the case.

Do not risk what you cannot afford to lose.'

I never liked this because most of us will feel bad losing things we can afford to lose. For instance, losing a house would be a disaster for most people, but losing a summer house, or a cabin wouldn't be. But imagine that you've worked for years to buy that summer house and now it's gone. You can afford it which means you won't starve, you will still have a place to live... but can you really afford it? If losing something makes you feel bad, don't lose it Wink
So I'd say don't lose anything if it's stressful and puts you in a bad spot. Take care of what you have and don't try to take shortcuts to get more of it.

a lot of Gamblers here on this forum has great privilege over other gamblers out there. With so many good benefits from this forum and also a way to get good advice and techniques on being a good and responsible gambler.
Could not agree more. Well said!

it's pure clickbait.
At least a successful one  Grin thanks for clicking!

From the way you talk you look like someone who hasn't spent much money gambling, if any at all. Many ideas and little experience
I don't know if it is a bad thing or good but I will take it as a compliment and only wish it to be true.

Setting a time limit for gambling can help you achieve responsible gambling.
Different things works for different people for me personally setting time limit is of less use because I will be going harder at climax Grin and I want to avoid this exact adrenaline rush.

Indeed, but do you think no one ever mentioned about that? Probably it has been told million times by thousands of members still people learn things in the hard way.

It doesn't really need a dedicated thread to say something that has been already told so I suggest OP to lock this thread.

Self realizations would really be that relevant on which on the time or moment that you would really be that making yourself dealing up with gambling then it would really be just that normal that you would really be
having that roller coaster like kind of emotions on which it would really be that affecting your gambling experience if you are someone whose really be that thinking about winnings or simply you are really just that making yourself that too hopeful and positive towards on the things that you are really that dealing on with. Its not really that bad to enjoy and making use of gambling, you should really be that watchful
in towards your actions because on the time or moment that you would really be finding yourself that being too impulsive towards it then you are just that basically making yourself putting into much trouble. This is why on the moment that you will really be having that gambling engagement then it would really be just that understandable that you should really be able to feel up those things. So moderation and control
would really be the key on this aspect.

Basically all the advice that leads to precautions will always be the best advice that a gambler needs to do including the advice you gave which is to only bet small amounts that will not cause problems in your financial situation, which will not make you emotional or frustrated and also which will still allow you to enjoy the entertainment and fun of the game without experiencing stress and tension due to worry.

I understand that it is the best idea to stay safe and secure from various unwanted possibilities in the long run, but I think it all comes back to the understanding of each gambler, in the sense that if from the start a gambler sees gambling in the wrong way then it is clear that their perspective will also lead to something that should not be a priority such as winning, or simply when a gambler comes because they are interested in the opportunity to win then I am sure that the idea of betting small amounts will be difficult for them to apply in their approach to gambling because they clearly know that they will only be able to get big wins if they bet big.

Believe me, all the redundant advice that you gave are already being discussed and commented many times on bunch of gambling discussion related gambling advice.

All the point that you mention is correct but the only problem is execution in actual gambling game since it’s very hard to control your emotions when you are in the presence of gambling. You can’t stop yourself to do careless move when you are gambling so it’s better to have a limitation set before you gamble at all.

When all has been said and nothing happens. It could be not just the gambler's addiction, it could be that there is no other way to make money but to gamble. The economy isn't coming back the way before Covid when people can still find a job. Or it could be because the advertising of casinos is way too irresistible. They enjoy it so much that even the money meant for the food on the table is spent on gambling and so limitation may not work as well.  The partner/wife will be able to help.

Having a gambling budget will help do the magic of using an amount that you can afford to lose for gambling and it does not just stop there, you must be able to discipline yourself in order for you not to go beyond using that amount to gamble when you have lost it all. Self control is important when gambling because that is what will make you stop athe game at the right time.

Setting a time limit for gambling can help you achieve responsible gambling and don't be greedy, because when you are not satisfied with the outcome of your bet or with your profit, it shows that you forget the fact that gambling is based on luck and that will make you gamble more and lose more.

Gambling is fun when we are not looking to use the envisioned winnings to solve a problem. It is also fun when we are not looking to double our bet from it. Gambling is also fun when we are not looking to have a 100% profit or return on investment before taking and break. Gambling is also fun when we are not using it to cope with boredom, loneliness, depression, or a mental health issue. These are also some other important advice to enjoying gambling too

Sometimes it takes time to perfect this. There will always be urges to deposit one more time once you lose the money that you can afford to lose and sometimes it's inevitable. But if a gambler reaches a point where he can resist that urge, there goes the happy times, the fun times where you would say "I will just use this money win or lose." Experience is what a gambler will need to reach a certain point and sometimes losing way too much can also be the key to making it happen.
When we realize that we are wasting too much time and money with our bad habits, that's when everything could change. We deposit once, accept that we might lose it all and then we rest if ever it happens. My suggestion is to play games with cheap minimum bet, that way you could prolong the battle and enjoy it.

Gambling can be fun but most times its usually heartbreaking, especially when we make huge losses. But then if you are able to control your self emotionally and psycologically, then your experience with gambling with be different.
When we find our selves on the losing edges, the first thing to do is to back down. Take a break and re strategize. This way, we are able to know where our mistakes were made so when next we play we know just how to avoid them.
