Happy Gilmore still makes me laugh....

It's all in the hips!

Happy Gilmore was during the golden era for Sandler - not seen the film in a long while but I do recall enjoying it.

Casablanca. It amazes me how many people have never watched it.
or Captain Phillip , American hustle, Lewyn devis are recent alright movies

I have tried to start Lewyn Davis like 3 times, but I haven't gotten through the first 10 minutes...

I know it's blasphemy in film snob circles, but I'm actually not a big Coen Bros. fan so I'll be skipping it as well.

I don't care for them either. They're very overrated IMO.

Anyone have seen Donnie Darko? if you watch this movie and understand it after one roll, that means you are awesome Cheesy

If you think Donnie Darko's thick, check out Southland Tales.

Southland was terribad. Only seen it once years ago, but I remember it being a confusing clusterfuck of a movie.

oh yeah sh##...sorry about that guys...didn't even think about that before I wrote it.

Edit your posts, you idiot. You'll spoil it for everyone who hasn't seen it. And I don't think it ended on a cliffhanger at all, but it set it up nicely for the next season.

Did anyone watch the Baftas or the Golden Globes? American Hustle looks really good and quite funny. Gravity looked a bit cheesy to me, but I'm still looking forward to them.

American Hustle was good, but nothing great (IMO). As for Gravity, it's worth seeing on the biggest screen possible. On DVD/Blu Ray, it loses its appeal.

just completed the second season of House of Cards.  It was pretty good... I knew it would end on some sort of cliffhanger, which sucks because the 3rd season won't be out for a long time I am sure...

Yeah... I guess we have about a year to go! I'm curious to see where they'll take it.

SUPER BIG SPOILERS but I think he's dead. Way dead.

For season 3, maybe it'd be fun to see someone new try to work his/her way up and manipulate Frank as much as possible.

You think Frank's assistant dude is dead, or you think he's still alive?   Somehow it will get brought to light that he pushed that reporter girl in front of the train...

I'd recommend transformers 4 even if it's not out yet Tongue I've been waiting for this movie for a looooooong time.

If you feel like watching a movie on Netflix, check Shaun Of The Dead. It's a comedy zombie movie and I really enjoyed it!

Movie "Limitless" is pretty cool.   Definitely not award winning or anything like that, but definitely entertaining.

The Counselor was decent despite all the negative reviews it received

Yeah, for me The Counselor was all about appreciating the monologues and the scenery being chewed by the actors. If you're looking for traditional narrative, you won't like it...

That said, I also wouldn't mind seeing it again in a few months. Ridley Scott did a good job with the visuals (as always).

I agree, though I did find it overly long. I can't think of what the "Extended Edition" can add to it, other than making it even looonger.

I think the one that has been floating around the internet is already the extended edition rather than the theatrical version..
