Does this freeze apply to US Bank -> Dwolla -> MtGox transfers only? Or MtGox -> Dwolla -> US Bank transfers too? I ask because the wording in the email from Dwolla seems to indicate only the first: "real-time Dwolla-to-Dwolla payment to Mutum Sigillum LLC..". I initiated a MtGox -> Dwolla transfer yesterday having not heard about all of this, but I have not gotten an email from Dwolla, however nor have the funds appeared in my Dwolla account.

On what authority can the dept of homeland security do this?

Terrorism.  That's what they'll claim when they finally make a statement about this (If they ever do).

This Arstechnica article sheds more light on the reason.
Apparently the feds consider MtGox to be a "money transmitter" without a license.

Recall the recent flap about regulating the conversion of BTC to USD.  This is the first fallout from it.

I emailed Gox support and they offered to cancel my transfer and refund the cash into my account.

I guess I have to do a wire transfer now, but at least I didn't lose any money.

Glad to hear they were able to respond so quickly as well.

The lulz in all of this being, of course,

Quote
Apr 04 00:16:02 *   dub suggests to #mtgox that they list on MPEX to raise capital for engine
Apr 04 00:16:10    banned in 3 2 1
Apr 04 00:16:12    muhaha
Apr 04 00:16:28     dub: except that'd be illegla

MtGox thinks MPEx is illegal. MtGox thinks MtGox is legal. MP points and laughs. MtGox has its French accounts frozen, complains, is kicked out of Europe. MP points and laughs. MtGox has its US accounts frozen. MP points and laughs. Coin* thinks it "brings Wall Street to Bitcoin", half year to a year after MPEx already has. Coin* implodes in lolsuit. MP points and laughs.

Bitcoin. Backed by drama and lols.

MPEx. Failing last. Since 2011.

MPEx may fail last, but that upfront 30 BTC registration fee is wall I'm not sure I wanna climb.

Got an answer to my e-mail.  They said the transaction from yesterday will go through but no more will from now on.  They did say no other customers were affected which sounds like campbx would still work.

Seriously, why can't CampBX deal with a little bump in traffic...
It has to be the slowest, most inefficient web site I use...
Both Virtex and Liberty have been zipping along 100% up time today.

That's just where the Federal court is where they filed.
I bet we could look up the case.

I couldn't find it here, but that doesn't mean it isn't there.

Almost.

The article identifies the "court orders received" as a "Seizure Warrant", which was not a part of the email.  In addition, it promises updates, hopefully at the same URL.  We'll see.

Is there a way to get money from okpay into your bank account without paying fees?  Or is there a $15 fee like it appears?

okpay withdrawals incur fees, for larger amounts the okpay/mc debit card is a better way to get funds out when wanting to purchase something...

Yeah, that doesn't really work for me, I need to get the cash to a place where I can use it to pay bills.
