WARNING: There are long term users here who will scam for large amounts, including Escrow operators. A lot of people got caught out by Projects a few weeks ago. He ran away with an awful lot of money after playing the long con.

I'd suggest doing transactions in chunks you can afford to lose. For the sake of a few more transactions it could save a lot of heartache.

how right you are!
i stopped some deals with "honorable members" because it turned out to be a scam-sheme. if people don´t agree to share deal to smaller parts, be warned!

Why don´t they get personally known and confronted ?

Was there a mention anywhere that suddenly you need to be a verified account holder to withdraw bitcoins?

Unverified accounts can not transfer their assets out, even if Gox suddenly decides to allow withdrawals.

Nice move by Gox, and I expect it keeps a hell of a lot of BTC and cash on the exchange. I have a feeling they will not break a sweat processing new applications for AML verification.

Im curious what the  news release tomorrow will be.

Tokyo, Japan, February 17th, 2014!
"
Dear MtGox Customers,!
"
We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the recent suspension of external
bitcoin transfers. Fortunately, as we announced on Saturday we have now
implemented a solution that should enable withdrawals and mitigate any issues
caused by transaction malleability (please see our previous statements for
details on this issue). "
"
Thanks to our friends at Blockchain.info, MtGox now has a workaround that will
use a unique identifier created by Blockchain to show whether transactions have
been modified or not. This will prevent any fraudulent use of the malleability
issue and protect the assets of our customers. "
"
Resuming Withdrawals!
"
With this new system in place, MtGox should be able to resume withdrawals
soon. At the beginning we will do so at a moderated pace and with new daily/
monthly limits in place to prevent any problems with the new system and to take
into account current market conditions. "
"
In order to launch the new system, we are going through the following steps:"
"
-" Re-indexing the entire Blockchain (approx. 32 million entries)"
-" Fully deploying the new NTX ID"
-" Implementing a new bitcoin withdrawal queue that needs to be tested"
"
We will update everyone again by Thursday at the latest. "
"
Additionally, you may have noticed that we have added a new login system that
sends you an email when you successfully access your account. This is an
additional security layer, but as always we strongly encourage our customers to
use the 2-step authorization options available in our Security Center. "
"
Thank you again for your support, and we look forward to resume bitcoin
withdrawals as quickly as possible. "
"
Best regards,"
"

Everyone selling big amounts of goxBTC at the moment is arbitraging. You can easily make 50% in just a few hours by doing this:

1) Deposit into Gox via OKPay - it takes a few hours to clear.
2) Buy goxBTC
3) Sell goxBTC for "real" BTC at 0.6ish while the real price is 0.4

Example: at $250/goxBTC, for $10,000 you get 40 goxBTC, you can sell them for 24 realBTC. 24 realBTC on stamp at $625 equal $15,000.

4) You can send the real bitcoins back to OKPay and get ~$15,000.
5) You now have $15,000 to buy more goxBTC with.

Rinse and repeat and it's a money printing machine, a pretty fast and incredibly profitable arbitrage.

Prices are going down because there's a lot of competition between people doing this, so the market corrects itself.

I don't see the hour to deposit to Gox via OKPay, how is that doable?  Do you send directly to mtgox wallet from OKPay?

This is a horrible idea right now. I am waiting for almost 24 hours from okpay to gox now, support only says it will take 24-48 hours and I have to wait. Just hoping I get it before the press release tomorrow or I might be GOXXED again. But maybe that is what I deserve with this name  Angry

How fast are the OKPay transfers? I've heard that it might be hit and miss, and sometimes it takes a long time?

One issue is that OKpay won't work with customers from the USA.

Can't make a spectacular offer like AutoCoin, but I will sell you Gox BTC for 60% today.
I have been a member here since May 2011 and have made a lot of deals in this thread and on this site without any problems.

If I want to sell my Gox coins to another Gox member how exactly does this work? Can someone guide me through the procedure. Here is my account:  http://imgur.com/a/MoufW
I mean how do you transfer internally when the coins go through the blockchain? Are you telling me the transfer bypasses the blockchain? Is there a procedural loophole I don't know about?
With trade values hovering in the sub-$300 I'm losing my confidence in Tokyo and will probably offload them before their exchange crashes. Looking at 60 to 70% but slightly negotiable to some extent.

You're not gonna get those numbers. I just bought 39 goxBTC for 0.54 BTC each. Considering the volume I am fairly confident that is the real price right now.

Then I might let them go for 55 or 50% but really have to think hard about this. This is like a hostage situation where I have to pay a ransom to free my coins. A very unfair ransom.
