Is there any kind of processing ETA?

There is obviously opportunity cost involved here with funds "in the air" in the MtGox accounts.

Given that 60.000 claims normally should be made, how many people are going to process these?

Since the provided proof will have to be cross-checked manually / by eye I assume, this literally means > 60.000 click-and-compares.

Should I prepare myself for July at the earliest or..?

They can automate most of it. The more difficult cases will be done by hand.

Also I hope the password entry and storage format is compatible with all 256 possible characters. Would be truly ironic if the new superduper hardened password I chose ends up being stored wrongly, thus locking me out once confirmed..

It took me a while to find something complex enough.. 16 characters of random upper/lower case and digits wasn't enough - had to go to 32.

Of course then I fatfingered the password storage app and lost it.  Sigh.  Lucky I've got nothing in the account.

I have submitted my account recovery with no problems.

Just lost 20 minutes because I was using my email as a login, instead of the login. You should probably make it clear that you want the LOGIN instead of the EMAIL (half the sites I use use the email as a login).I thought it was perfectly clear.

Tux, I couldn't login to my acc some hours before mtgox down, and the email was removed from my account. Also I'm not the only one who got this problem at that very same time Sad.
Now it's "The password for this account is invalid, or this account is not currently under claim process." for me, pls see through this.
I use kenpass to generate this password !

would not this claim page allow people with user names and cracked passwords to claim old accounts that
possibly have something in them if the previous and true owner just happens to be too slow in a 24-48 hour
window?

You need to provide more infos, especially if the account has non-zero balances.

As for the "password strength" we compute it based on length and randomness Smiley

I don't think having a username and an "easy" password is enough to claim an account successfully.

By the way, Mtgox doesn't need to store the passwords in plain text to know they are "easy". If you type in your password and the hash is the same as the hash stored in their DB, they can look at the number of characters in the password you entered to know it's crackable.

That's rather a lot of information about your internal file structure to be giving away.  Recommend switching verbose error reporting off.

My account was giving me the "not currently under claim process" error, but it worked a few minutes ago.

Hey Tux there's another post in economics but this is what happened when I tried. Mine says "The password for this account is invalid, or this account is not currently under claim process."  I don't know if that means my account password was strong enough, because it definitely is the right password.  Anybody have this happen?

Same thing is happening to me

I see one possibility for this... I'll add a patch to see if it helps.
Ah, I see you are already on to this.

Will you process manually all claims? Even those with an associated mail address?

Also, is there any account with lost funds?

Yes, I get the same thing and am pretty sure I'm using the correct previous pwd.
