So I registered with MtGox about 6 weeks ago...but the account still says: "Your account verification request has been received, and will be reviewed within the next 20 business days. (All verifications which are not in Japanese, English, or latin script will be reviewed within 20 or more business days) Please contact support@mtgox if you have any questions or comments."
When I try to fund the account it states that: In order to make deposits you need to have a "verified" or "trusted" account status. Please visit ...mtgox/forms/verification... to apply.
When I go to the verification page, it shows that my photo ID and proof of residence are uploaded. Click to verify and it reads: "The account verification process has been completed. Thank you for submitting your documents for verification. You will be sent an email notification of validation or rejection after our staff have reviewed your submission." I've done this at least 4 times now.
What am I missing here please? Is this typical? Anyone have similar experiences or advice? I've heard that MtGox can be problematic...

Yes, is normal, don't worry. Mtgox delay 9 weeks to verify my account... And I know they take more time sometimes.
For verify an account Mtgox sucks. Another sites, like Bitstamp, the verification take just a few days.
Anyway u can send tickets if u want.

I've also verified my account with MtGox. Now they want me to upgrade it to "trusted" status for no reason.

My verification took 3 Weeks (but this was mid of 2013)
I got verified in 2 weeks! I dont know in what order they hanlde the accounts. Mtgox rocks.

I finally got verified there, it took almost a month but it happened. I don't plan to use it though until their payout problems are fixed.

That's because they delay payments so people can't take their money out.
Don't use gox. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before it dies completely.
mtgox isn't working very well lately, it needs some extra work to withdraw money..

Ya mt gox is bad news, this account was already verified and info faxed before, now they want me to do it again. Just lame excuses to keep funds imo. When asking why i can't do a bank transfer I get this.... Glad i already took my assets out. Theres a reason mtgox is so high, and not because the demand in japan is magically higher...

To have your bank account verified you should first fill in the identity form associated to your Mt.Gox account(write in your name, DOB, address etc).
In order you can do that, we have to downgrade your account. Once you filled the form, your account will be upgraded to "verified" status again.
When your account is downgraded you will not be able to complete trades or do any transactions, so we suggest you to finish all activities on your account, tell us that you are ready, we will downgrade your account, you will fill in the form and let us know asap that you are done so that your account can be returned to verified status quickly.
As a first step, let us know when you are ready to fill in the form.
