MultiMiner having problems with GPU on one of my computers

Hi.
A few days ago I've built a computer with some spare parts (Asus Z87I WS, i5, 16 GB RAM, Gigabyte R9 270X 2 GB, Win7Ult, Catalyst 13.12) but I have a problem with MultiMiner (my preferred mining application).
The application detects my GPU but as soon as I set the optimal settings (--thread-concurrency 15232 -w 256 -I 19), settings that worked perfectly with the same GPU on another computer, mining doesn't start. If I leave the settings field blank or I set the thread concurrency to a low level (e.g. 1024) the GPU starts mining but just with 6-7 kH/s.
I tried to use GUIminer scrypt (with CGminer) with the optimal settings on the same computer and it works giving me about 450 kH/s.

What could be the cause of this problem? Huh
I'm working with MultiMiner on my main mining computer (with the same OS) and it is working perfectly.

Thanks.

Bye

Same here I updated and went to bed after clicking start once the update was done.  None of my GPU's are mining.  Putting back the previous version fixed it.
I just updated again and am trying to sort what it could be.

I have a problem on latest version update.

None of my gpus are mining. I have connected up as normal clicked start it does nothing and just sits their doing nothing. No errors or logs on it however older version was working

Edited

Seems to have cleard now not sure what was going on

Okay folks, I got the feedback I was looking for from several users on 2.7 PR2 and 2.6.4 and am now pushing 2.7.1 out the door.

MultiMiner 2.7 is now generally available with the following changes:

  • Statistics for Network Devices are now submitted to MobileMiner
  • Added the ability to rename all devices
  • Added the ability to restart Network Devices
  • Added the ability to switch pools for Network Devices
  • The full list of Workers for Network Devices is now shown in the Details pane
  • Newly added Coin Configurations are automatically assigned to un-configured devices
  • The hardware list is now saved and restored when reopening the app (hardware is no longer scanned on every startup)
  • Fixed issues with Network Devices not showing their full hash-rate
  • Optimizations to the Network Device detection
  • Minor fixes and UI improvements

Ah ok, my misread there.

When does the update hit the Play Store?

Nothing to update - there is a new Python script available for Cointerra users and the Notifications API is for software developers who use the MobileMiner API (e.g. Asteroid, MacMiner, MinePeon, etc.).

And now for a MobileMiner update:

MobileMiner App Users

You can now monitor Cointerra hardware using MoibleMiner. See the following URLs for more information:

http://mobileminerapp.com#miners
https://github.com/dprophet/cointerra-monitor

MobileMiner API Developers

You can now begin pushing your own custom notifications - both Push and Email - out to your users using the MobileMiner Notifications API! See the following documentation to get started:

Love your program. I am new to Bitcoin mining, I just have one Antminer U1 running as a seed rig. I was wondering how to insert the over clock command for the Antminer U1?  I would love a screen shot if possible. I am running 2.6.4

Sure, you do it under Settings > Advanced miner settings:

After updating this last client, Multiminer does nothing but freeze up... (Win 7 x64)

Can you try previous releases to determine the version that introduced this problem for you? Haven't seen any issues myself or had anything reported (yet).

Can you check the Event Log in Windows under Applications and see if there are any entries for MultiMiner?

Edit: Could you also post a screenshot and / or video (e.g. using Jing, it's free) so I can see exactly how it is behaving and locking up?

A restart of my system seems to have corrected it actually, previous updates didn't have that issue.

Just to report I had this exact same issue. After update to newest version, many freezes/stalls on miners and conflicts/bad hash rates (antminers and block erupters were the only ones with issues)  After a quick system reboot all problems vanished. So if anyone is having issues try a reboot first then test I suppose.

I have a weird question.
Now that I have it seeing my Avalon I have an odd display bug.
What happens is that I have MuM on two systems.  Since both systems see the Avalon for some reason it shows up as having the Avalon's hashrate twice in total network gh/s display.
Is this a bug or do I need to check something somewhere as I do not see anything.

Hi there - this should be fixed in 2.6.4 which is now available:

  • Improvements to the way MultiMiner Remoting and Network Device auto-detection interact & integrate (more accurate network-wide hash-rates displayed now)
  • Added the ability to turn off Network Device auto-detection (under Advanced application settings)
  • Fixed loopback IP address being considered as the local network address
  • Fixed the hash-rate in the status bar always showing the local hash-rate (even with a Remote instance selected)
  • Fixed some Network Devices not displaying their total hash-rate

I've just re-installed 2.7.0 and run it, and did a hardware scan (although there are no changes and 2.6.3 worked with the same settings) and this time, (typically!) it's run OK.  It took a -long- time for the Antminers to start working; for the record (not sure if I was clear) they appeared OK in MM - I could see all 3, but mining didn't start (I left it for a couple of minutes and nothing happened).

So, it appears to be OK - sorry about that, not sure what happened.  Oddly the restart issue I described earlier also doesn't appear to be happening now, which is good!

Just tested the network restart of my network miner - that worked fine.  I've only got one pool set up on it and I'm away from it at the moment (I can't SSH into it), but I'll set up another pool and see if that works when I get back, probably tomorrow.

I've got three groups in there - GPU, ASIC (all Antminer U1s) and my network bfg setup.  With 2.7.0 when I run it, the network setup works fine, and starting mining gets the GPUs working properly, but the Antminers never start up.  I've tried re-starting the app several times to no avail.

Try scanning for hardware after you start the app.

One of the larger changes in 2.7 is that the app no longer scans for hardware every time you open it. Instead it saves the hardware details from the last time it ran. It may be that your AntMiners for some reason are now on a different COM port or path.

Let me know if that resolves the issue. If not try launching BFGMiner directly by right-clicking in the Process Log that way you can view the results directly.

Okay folks - it's time to start kicking the tires on 2.7 pre-releases for those who have the time!  Grin

Version 2.7 PR1 is available for download here:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/rcu3y19txi78j4t/MultiMiner-2.7.0.zip

I've just downloaded that and tried it, but have hit a problem.

I was going to post a question related to this; while on 2.6.x everything starts fine when you start the app, sometimes when I use restart (if I've changed coin on the scrypt miners), it doesn't re-start the U1s; nothing appears in the stats columns, and there's no mining being done by them.  If I hit stop, leave it for 20 seconds or so and then start, it works fine.  Not sure if this is related, but it appears on the face of it that 2.7 always does this regardless of being 'start'ed or 'restart'ed.

HTH?

So if I have 3 different pools setup in my Avalon then I can switch pools through MultiMiner instead of having to log into the Avalon?
That is great!!
You are a madman of programming.  Do you dream code??  I used to dream server configs all the time when I was building out a couple big installations.

Huh Huh That makes no sense. Then why am I using MuM if it doesn't control what coin is being mined Huh

What's that got to do with diff Huh

There are two things you can do with a standalone Network Device (such as the AntMiner S1):

  • You can either enable the Stratum Proxy feature in MultiMiner and then point the Network Device at the IP / Port of MultiMiner, which allows you to control the coins being mined etc.
  • Or you can enable RPC API access on the device and it will show up automatically under the Network group - if you try version 2.7 PR1 (linked above) it now lets you switch pools, but these are configured in the Web UI for whatever ASIC device you are using

Hopefully that clarifies the features.

Anything we can do to encourage un-road-blocking?

No, no problems just waiting.
