My 7 year anniversary is coming up next month. It is hard to believe it has been so long. I guess time flies when there is so much drama going on. (hopefully the drama will slow down moving forward, as it seems to have in the past few months).

Congrats on 10 years!

It seems that your 10 years on bitcointalk has coincided with you having exactly 11000 posts.

I wonder how many members registered in late 2017 are still active today, because that time period saw tons of accounts being created and I think a lot of them went inactive after the ICO boom went bust.

Accounts registered in the last 3 months of 2017 and first 3 months of 2018: still active 1755 out of 812k, so about 1 in 460. To be fair, many of them were utter throwaways. If we exclude ~600k users of that period who don't have any posts at all (e.g. nuked or proxy-banned), it becomes 1755 out of 203k, or about 1 in 116, which I think is not too bad considering that it's been nearly 4 years.

Surprised you're congratulating OgNasty, suchmoon.

My opinion about OgNasty is not based on his registration date so why not.

To put this into perspective: ~18k users registered 10+ years ago, of those only 44 posted within the last 30 days (about 1 out of 400).
That's an interesting statistic, and I won't even ask where you got it from.  It's proof that most of the early adopters of bitcoin outgrew this forum--I just wonder how long it took on average for them to do so.  Betcha it was right around the time that signature campaigns started to wreak havoc on bitcointalk in the form of shitposting, when the signal/noise became so low that it became obvious that no one was reading anything.

10 years is a long way. You have shared a lot of informative things in this forum from which there are many like me who have learned a lot. Even after 10 years you are still active and sharing informative things will really make a positive impact among the new members. I remember at the beginning of my Bitcointalk journey I used to follow some members to learn something good and you were one of them. New members have a lot to learn from you, so I hope you will be as active in the future as you are now.

Congratulations OgNasty on your 10th anniversary.

10 years is not an easy thing to go through but you are so impressed because you have reached 10 years of being active in the forum, I want to congratulate you because you are so maintaining this forum as the greatest education and lesson about bitcoin knowledge.

I have been on this forum for almost 6 years and have been inactive for more than a year because there are more important matters that concern others, but this time I have really fallen in love with the bitcoin education forum that I learned from seniors, so now I have I can be more active and active for a long time until my death arrives.

I have found a decent life after knowing this forum in terms of trading insight, investment etc., so the info from this forum is very important for me.

Thought I would be able to join the giveaway because that's a pretty awesome silver coin and I find that there was a lot of effort put into the engraving. Hey, congratulations on your celebration for a decade in this forum, more years or decades for you to come and hopefully, the next giveaway, I will be able to participate and hopefully win.

For 10 years of your presence at the forum, you have a rather interesting story. Some so many people trust you. And also, in contrast, there are quite famous people with whom, as we see, you have misunderstandings. What is the reason?
We can't always be good to everyone. We create our own opinion and reputation for all people. I respect you for always staying in the ranks. 10 years is a very long time. And it would be fair to call such people a truly "big legend" since many of the stories of this forum are behind you.

like a dream, Can't believe you've been on Bitcointalk for 10 years, that's a long time, you missed two presidential elections, you're a dream for all newbies, I wish you were here a little longer, because you have an educational nature, on the Bitcointalk forums.

I remember when I was a beginner, the first one who gave me 'Merit' was you, I remember that until now, very happy at that time, I forgot to say thank you, today I say that, thank you.

Regards
Yoshie.

I made it!  Ten years since I stumbled onto this site a curious newbie.  The price of Bitcoin went from $6 to $30 in the first week and back to $15 the second.  My first introduction to Bitcoin.  This would set the stage for a tumultuous decade of rapid adoption that would lead to unmatched volatility on the road to becoming one of the greatest value growth stories in the history of mankind.  The promises of freedom and changing the world alongside the invention of the blockchain were too enticing to resist wanting to be a part of and help out however possible.  Bitcointalk.org was the obvious first step to take on my Bitcoin journey and to this day I would still recommend this site as one of the best resources to learn about Bitcoin.  There are so many users here so passionate about this place, and while we don't always see eye to eye, I think it is important to remember that we share an amazing interest in something really special together.

So what does a guy do on his 10 year bitcointalk.org anniversary you ask?  Well, I spent a great deal of time this week engraving 100 silver coins for a giveaway (link) to members of a Bitcoin organization I am a part of.  These coins totaled over $14K worth of inventory from our online shop (link).  It was an early dream of mine to mint my own silver coin.  Being able to now give away silver creations I am so proud of that utilize the blockchain in an innovative way is literally a dream come true.  Thank you to anyone who has ever supported the people and organizations dedicated to advancing Bitcoin adoption and use cases.  It is because of you that these last ten years have been so rewarding.
