Crypto won't be as promising as you say. Terra (LUNA), which is considered a potential altcoin, has made many investors go bankrupt. That's a real thing with altcoins.
That's true. Investing in altcoins are more risky compared to investing in Bitcoin, though it's not bad if you like to diversify. But you need to dig deeper in order to find a good coin, and unlikely to have the same fate as LUNA.

If you want to reap beautiful results in the future? collect Bitcoin little by little.
And it's never too late to accumulate specially now the price is still cheap. Investors who are used to seeing the price turning up and down are aware on what's the best thing to do in times the market is in bearish. When the bull season occur, investors who bought during cheap price will realize that it's worth the wait. Of course the risk is still there, so invest only the money that you can live without.

Clearly, by the LUNA fall and then we are experiencing a bear market. No one can deny that.

So you are concluding the LUNA fall or scam was the reason of the bitcoin bear market? I don't agree with this. The bear market was already in effect and this LUNA drama acted as a nail in the coffin.

Secondly, if we see the price history of bitcoin from 2009, we will see that bitcoin always rises and gives the highest return on investment and lowest holding time. It is a maximum of four years we may have to hold and see another all time high bitcoin price.
You wont really be saying off these things if you've been here on this market for a while but when you are noob then  you would definitely saying most of these wrong perceptions and beliefs but on the time that you

had gained up knowledge and experience then you would definitely be able to tell the other side of things. When it comes to bear market then it is really a normal condition or trend on which a market does have.

Just like the rest been saying that this market cant really be called a market if we would be only seeing on direction of price movement which it would really be that common sense that,
the best time to purchase or buy is on the time where prices are declining or decreasing and not on that fomo moment.

you cannot think that just doing hodl the person will have a guaranteed profit, I said this in the thread before this one, that a person can buy today for the price of 20,000$ and stay for 2 years and the price will be at 20,000$ and then the price will go up a lot and the person doesn't sell anything, but months later the price drops a lot to the point of falling below 20,000$, then that person would have stayed 2 or 3 years doing hodl and not see profit, on the contrary, there would be a loss, that's why you should having a good plan when it comes to making hodl in the long term, it's not just taking a loan and going to buy acryptocurrency and then being in harm's way and coming to complain here on the forum

for example:

investing in altcoins is a big loss, most old altcoins are losing value against bitcoin

Yeah I totally suggested relatives who invested in Bitcoin to totally forget that their money exist. If we are in bear it means it will end one day. Especially Bitcoin as pioneer of these markets will always return and strike back from bottoms of ocean. This never changes. Altcoin investments are really vulnerable its undeniable but Bitcoin is safe and solid as stone. I plan to invest some point right before bull run to multiply amount of Bitcoin I hold. I am waiting for golden opportunity. I suggest same to everyone.

Long term investment will always be the best choice. Only Bitcoin and not crypto.
Crypto won't be as promising as you say. Terra (LUNA), which is considered a potential altcoin, has made many investors go bankrupt. That's a real thing with altcoins.
The advice you gave to choose Bitcoin and implement it in the long term is not wrong, because Bitcoin has been proven to be good for more than ten years and many people already know about it. But for the case experienced by altcoins like Luna, I don't think it's worth taking it as a basic reference for other altcoins. Because other altcoins have different stories, developments, and support from Luna, there is no need to assume that cases like Luna will happen to other altcoins.

I agree with this, because it is very appropriate to choose Bitcoin and collect as much as possible if you want to feel the beauty in the future. But that will only happen when the price of Bitcoin is getting more and more expensive and the increase in Bitcoin can happen continuously without obstacles from other things such as inflation and war.

I have often seen, people panic and complains a lot during the bear market. Rather they should treat this as an opportunity to grab more coins. Bear markets are just market cooldowns which are caused due to the big bulls manipulating the market. So if you are a person who has done long term investments, then you shouldn’t panic at all. Bear market is the beginning of a bull run, so as soon as a bear market ends, be ready to see price hike in all the coins. OP’s advice also delivering the same meaning.

You are welcome to bitcointalk.

I just want to say to all the members that will read this that a bear market doesn't say anything about your investment. In the long term you are going to reap profits from the coin you have selected, especially if your coin is a well established one with developers with experience and passion for crypto evolvement.
There are some coins that do not reach all-time-high after bitcoin hit all-time-high in 2021. People should be careful, those that invested on some altcoins when their price was very high may not achieve the aim, expecting the price to increase and reach the price when they invested it, they may be disappointed after they have waited for years, expecting the coins to reach the price when they invested on it but remain unrealized loss when bitcoin reach all-time-high. I will advice people to invest in bitcoin.

That's why we should use diversification methods when investing in altcoins. If I invest in 10 altcoins then there is a chance that 3 of them will cross their all-time high. Most of the altcoin is 98% down so only 3 projects reaching in target can recover all the losses. It is a risky part so if someone wants to stay safe they should have stayed in BTC only as its history of breaking ATH is consistent.

On the other side, diversity is good, but I wouldn't put like 10 altcoins in my portfolio, majority will be bitcoin and the rest are solid altcoins, the most I will have is just like 5, like ETH, BNB and ADA.

But bitcoin will be like 60% of my portfolio, yes I would agree that altcoin tends to give returns in the next bull run, but it was not an assurance, and the risk is very high as compare to bitcoin.

Bitcoin could be volatile, but if we look at it's past history, chances are in the next bull run we might be seeing 6 digits, at least $100k minimum and that will be huge.

This sounds simple to do but it's no doubt that the majority are having difficulty doing this and that's the reality.

There are valid reasons though why it's hard to accumulate more even on the bear market:

- Anticipation that the price will decrease more
- No signs that a possible bull run might happen that's why still observing the market
- Not much money to risk especially if the purpose is to hold for long
- Not all people like to hold. Some try to take advantage if there's a price swing
- Others just follow on hype before accumulating more

If it's only simple for some people to just accumulate during the bear market for the purpose of holding long, we should see many of them rejoicing on good profits once a bull trend now starts to kick-off but it's not most cases we are seeing.

The bear market present a great buy opportunity, most here know this.  However, for some reason, the typical masses prefer to buy in during bull market, missing out on significant and at times astronomical gains- don't be this.
Buying during a bull market is of course because they have been exposed to FOMO that the market will continue to go up and up, whereas when they start buying in a bull market, a dump will immediately occur and this will be a willing trap that can be very detrimental.

The truth is buying in a bear market as it is today, Bitcoin price is still quite cheap if we look at bitcoin's last ATH. and buying when bearish must also be with a strategy, don't do all this because it will be dangerous. it's better to buy gradually when the price drops. leave some money in reserve in case the price continues to fall.
^ I think anytime you can enter the market as an investor either a bull market or a bear market, if the price continues to go down you can do purchasing in a DCA way if the price keeps declining just continue purchasing, and the last one is doing the math and calculate it to determine your goal of making a profit. As long as you are not selling under the price where you purchased, you are safe. Keep in the long term if the market falls down, there is nothing to lose once you did not sell it. We have seen different advice and I hope we can able to apply it to ourselves.

As a first post I wanted to try and motivate people in the community. If at least one person will be motivated by this post, it is a win for me!

Clearly, by the LUNA fall and then we are experiencing a bear market. No one can deny that.

I have been in the space since 2017 - I wasn't just too bored to write here, since now  Grin - and I have seen a lot of ups and downs from the market all this time.
It is obvious that people are losing attention when the market is down and they try to grab opportunities from serious even from scam projects during a bull market.

I just want to say to all the members that will read this that a bear market doesn't say anything about your investment. A hint for that is the growth of Bitcoin through the years.

Bitcoin ROI is at 13820.78% right now, cosindering the fact that the price is pretty low right now it can still explode.

Keep accumulating crypto and you will reap the rewards in the future!

Agree, in the long term we will get profit, I once bought bitcoin when the price was rising at around $52k, had a chance to sell when the price was $69k but I think that the market will continue to rise, and I'm optimistic 2 or 3 years from the price can reach 2x than what I've ever bought.

It's always strange for me to see schadenfreude about the fall in the bitcoin exchange rate for example. It seems like something between envy and unwillingness to get out from under a stone. Cryptocurrencies area living organism, it reacts sensitively to events in the world and the crypto world. But that is why it is subject to the same principle - growth follows recession, and decline follows growth. You need to be able to wait and react in time.

Past performance alone is not a good argument for anything. Shitcoins and ponzi schemes also have amazing ROI, until they collapse. A better argument is that Bitcoin's fundamentals have not changed, so this bear market is just a period of speculative cooling off. There are no good reasons to think that Bitcoin is in bear market because something is wrong with it.

Keep accumulating crypto and you will reap the rewards in the future!

Buying random "crypto" is a good way to lose money. Altcoins are losing their value in the long run. They are crated to generate hype, get money from investors and market manipulation, and then the devs move on to a new flashy project with the same formula.

Your advice regarding bear market is really appreciated. In dear market we need to accumulate with a lot of good projects. And bear market is necessary to enter the crypto market or to fill the bags with crypto. So we should research by own in this bear market before taking any decision.

We can't just keep buying everything that comes our way, OP. There are differences between a particular altcoin project and a lot of other altcoins, so you ought to advise people to keep buying strong altcoins that trade in large volumes on exchanges instead. Many of them won't make it through the current bear market. You claimed to have been here since 2017. I assumed you already knew this.

I think the only people that should panic about the current market condition are the newbies, they are the once that really need the advice because most of them haven't experienced that kind of market condition before, I believe they will definitely panic because is not really easy seeing your money reducing on a daily basis, but for people that have been in crypto space for long term, the current bear market is not new to them, so I don't think they should be disturbed. The bear market gives people opportunity to accumulate more bitcoin.

We all saw what Luna did this year, am sure any altcoin can also do the same at any moment so we have to be very careful when investing in altcoins, seriously I always discourage people from investing in altcoins, the only coin I do recommend for people to invest in is bitcoin, just buy and hold your bitcoin and you will have rest of mind.
