Don't be too sarcastic, just answer what they want to know, that's what we're here for, helping each other, besides he doesn't share things that are prohibited, have you seen him do that from his post history? Grin
Heh, now you're being sarcastic. Grin..post history? Last I checked he only got one post to speak of which is this one. I get you, bruh. The essence of being a higher ranking member is so you can guide the new ones who come into this place seeking answers because it's deemed that we know more than they do. I really don't support the idea of badmouthing them when they display their ignorance but sometimes, things just find a way of eating at you especially when they throw every obvious questions.

Merit & new rank requirements topic can help you understand it more deeply. Simply put, you can get merit when you help someone on the forum, or provide new useful insights. However, in some cases you can get merits when you take part in challenges in the community, for example @NotATether's topic, he offer 14 merits for users who run Bitcoin Core Node for 14 days and it must be the latest synchronization.
Do you think he'd be patient enough to read through this link you provided if his first post is to ask how to get merits? It's crazy how some newbies put this particular one in front above all else when there are many other things to gain from the forum. You'd argue he's being direct and going straight to what brought him here but then if people like these get merits, I'm sure they would flout some of the rules here.
Everyday, we see new behaviors from these noobs and I tell you, this user may not come back to reply you or acknowledge that he found the link helpful.

I'm well aware that Newbie habits are sometimes bad, but what can I do to prevent them from doing those things? we have all been Newbies in this forum. Don't be too sarcastic, just answer what they want to know, that's what we're here for, helping each other, besides he doesn't share things that are prohibited, have you seen him do that from his post history? Learn about the forum, learn all the rules, follow the rules well. Never do anything outside the rules, and learn more about crypto and btc as you learn. And can go ahead, keep going, you will achieve big rank one day.

OP, I just went through your post history, and it interests me to know that you are putting up everything you are being advised and linked to read into practice for your exposure to Bitcoin and the forum.

Still, from your post history, I can see that you are giving out positive replies to newbies who want to learn about Bitcoin and the forum the same way as you. Keep it up with that, and don't later give up on that your efforts to quality posting are not rewarded with merits because not having merits has made many newbies give up on time to stop being consistent in the forum

I was lost upon registration, not until I found Beginners and help, so I feel this is the rightful place to get the necessary informations I need to know about this community, i was told this is the biggest and best community where I could broaden my knowledge about Bitcoin.
Therefore I'll need any help I can get from older members, anyways what are the necessary steps i must follow? I'll pay attention to every replies i get, thanks.
You have come to the right place. In the beginning you should develop the habit of reading. If one studies more and more while learning, one's scope of knowledge will increase. There are various boards in this forum where one can learn almost everything about the crypto space from top to bottom. Moreover, if there is any specific subject to know which is difficult to understand, then you can get the correct solution of those subjects through this board because there are many knowledgeable people who can give the correct solution to your specific questions. "Beginners & Help" is the most effective board for beginners. Moreover, "Meta" will help you to know all the issues related to the forum rules and regulations. There are also separate boards for Bitcoin and everything else where you can browse and learn about various topics.

Which critics are you talking about? Not in this thread, as far as I've been able to read at least, so I guess that you mean in other threads you visited.
I was also taken aback by OP's comment on that too because prior to that I didn't see or read any criticism of their post. Perhaps, OP had expected some form of criticism ahead.

Anyway, OP should also realize on time that as a forum they shouldn't expect every comment to be favourable to them. Reviews/responses come in two shades - positive and critical. That isn't to say anyone is attacking them but rather that people see things differently. OP should grow a thick skin for that. The earlier the better for them. Otherwise, they will easily crawl into their shell when that begins to happen.

Guys, no offense please my response was based on Finestream's reply to my post, advising me concerning the criticism I'll receive soon from different members, i was shocked because i just got here and would have to handle critics soon. well it's no big deal thank you all for your advice.
I guess I should've quoted him but i just replied straight since I didn't know how to do that then but I've figured it out from the reply of other members in this post.
You will get that alot from the forum members, but instead of being offended by those criticisms, you should rather learn from them. You should understand that there are lots of people from different countries and races which may have different views on a particular topic that may not sit well with you. Remember, everyone must not agree with an idea you share. Glad you have already been pre informed about what you should be expecting here, this will help you to develop a tough skin towards all forms of criticism.

Welcome to the forum newbie, obey the forum rules and you'll be fine. Aside the information you get here, you can carry out your personal researches so you get a wider knowledge on topics that may not have been thoroughly discussed here. Stay safe!
True. There would be negative criticisms that you will receive later on, and that should not threaten you but will motivate you to keep improving your posting performance, otherwise you will keep being criticized and get affected every now and then.

Rules are rules. Though the forum may not be totally strict with some certain rules, but if you keep breaking them, you will not like the result. Either you get temporarily banned, or you get permanent kick out without notice.

Wow are there critics here! That's not fair and could discourage newly registered like me or give us wrong perspective of this forum, I hope there are no tolerance of voilence or abusive words here? Well the best approach to critics is to capture the sense in their statement and disregard the rest. Also, what are the consequences of going against the rules?

It's not criticism that is given but it's just input that directs you to pay attention to what you should do next.
By having input that you can draw conclusions from, it will actually help you become better. Actions start from thoughts. If your mind when judging every input as criticism that makes you cornered or discouraged, the resulting action is true you will be discouraged. Change it into motivation that will make you better.

If the op thinks he can survive without being criticized then he's not going to last here because he will keep getting discharged as a result of how he feels about the comments of other members, I have taken my time to go through the comments of most people here but I'm yet to see any word that looks like criticism that is used by any member here so I assume the op is imagining things.

I think it is better he takes every comment here as a blessing because the ideas and information that members gives out here for free on daily basis other people out their are paying high to get a little of it. I'm at every word you consider as harsh words motivate you to get better so that you will also teach the next generation to come what you have been thought.

Every sentence that is expressed depends on how we eat it, because it will be responded to by the brain and heart when reading comments from others, simply put someone can feel offended if consuming other people's sentences by assuming he feels ridiculed, while there are people who feel motivated by words of ridicule or criticism to become better.

But I'm quite understanding because he's a beginner and may not be used to this kind of situation, where people give advice and express what others want to express freely, the general rule in a vast internet world like this is not to be easily offended and not to get carried away in responding to others.

Welcome to the forum

The first advice I give you is to look at two important elements:

1. Familiarity with the field of blockchain technology in general, and I advise you to start with Bitcoin. It is important to realize that you must learn about the Bitcoin Ecosystem independently of any central services.
This will not require you to do more than follow the huge documentation about Bitcoin that you will find here on the forum and which you can search by using the “search” feature. The search process can be done on Google, with the exception that you must always check the sources before taking this or that information as granted.

2. Learn about the operating rules of this forum, including the publishing rules and general behavioral rules. Here in the Beginners section we have detailed pinned topics that can help you.
Newbies - Read before posting

It seems difficult at first and requires a long breath, but this is the price of knowledge.

I wish you a good journey and that you will be an outstanding forum member Smiley

It's much better for all who read, especially for OP.
If I always put it in a positive box because I only have two eyes that make me have limitations in seeing all the space.
There are no words that I consider it rude even though at one occasion it happened. However, as long as I am active in this forum from Newbie until now it has been Sr. Members, all the comments that were present I made a valuable lesson that helped me that I did not get in special training for all fields.

Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?)

Especially since you are a newbie, you should definitely follow the rules of this forum and be sure to abide by them. And be sure not to think of violating the rules of this forum. However you notice the posts of senior brothers and spend time in the forum, the more you learn from the forum and the more time you spend, the more experience you will gain about this forum.
And get all kinds of advice about Bitcoin because there are people from different countries and different tribes. Make sure you get the most suitable decision from them and keep on gaining knowledge.

You were not supposed to lost as the forum is very easier and simple to navigate. Moreover, you were lucky to have someone who told you about the forum, it will definitely make things easier for you than when you come across it on your own. I hope you have a necessary guidance from him. If not, you are in the right place to get familiar with the forum.

Wow are there critics here! That's not fair and could discourage newly registered like me or give us wrong perspective of this forum, I hope there are no tolerance of voilence or abusive words here? Is there anywhere there's no critics? The only time you are free from criticism is when you are not doing anything which is not possible. Criticism makes us strong and improve from our end if necessary. This is a public forum and not everyone will have the same opinion as yours. Some criticism is to educate you while some are to mock you. Ignore the latter and focus on the former to build yourself.
