One person has given 50 merits to him. Don't you think that he just waste the merits. Just look out the trust points of this profile and the plagiarism.

-snip
honestly speaking, yeah, the merit was wasted and should have been given to more deserving newbies. but we can't really tell what post they deemed high quality enough to give that amount of merit.
also, as far as I remember he busted as a ban evader after someone posted a thread regarding him getting 50 merits.

You didn't read the post directly above yours I guess, this thread was bumped by @Pokapoka124, congratulating the OP, but he was 'corrected' by DdmrDdmr on how the OP was guilty of some misdemeanor on the forum which assisted is his rank up, and why by extension the thread is somewhat not that inspiring after those discoveries were made. I'll suggest you read DdmrDdmr's reply before yours as well as the links in them, to get the full story; and next time try to read other replies, not just that of the OP, before posting.
Upon reading the OP, the tendency is to congratulate him immediately especially just by simply looking at his rank and merit. He just needs more activity to reach a Member rank to Full Member because he already has enough merits. However, it was posted almost a year ago now and realized that the ranking up was suspicious. That 50 merit in this kind of post is very unusual. Glad DdmrDdmr clarified that.

Some won't notice that as well and will just congratulate op. Though there's nothing wrong with greeting someone for their achievement, it would still be better to read the most previous reply/replies so that your response will also be updated.

Where do TMAN could be now?

I was also wondering where could this guy would be. Actually in my opinion is that he is an asset to the forum but sad to say he had nowhere to be found now. The pseudoname he use was sounds like theymos or something like a side kick. However, here in our place TMAN is a firetruck engine model and was known as rosebauer. A good fire fighting engine with high pressure on its hoses connected to PTO TMAN engine.

Anyway, the OP had been inactive I just wondering why the sudden bump from the OP.

The 50 Merits was probably Tman being in a good new year’s post-hangover mood (merited on the 02/01/2020). That was actually what led to the account being uncovered as an alt of some other prior banned account (as I stated a few posts above). 50 is certainly steep, and I personally have not sent (nor received) any amount anywhere near figure. I’d have capped it to 5 overall per month and recepient post, but that’s an old discussion nowadays.

Yes, I think that in addition to the New Year mood, Tman liked the OP's nickname "The-Devil" Smiley. I very much regret that Tman has been gone for a very long time because sometimes there is simply not enough of his "bitterness", which he introduced to the forum.

Not many users are focused on little silent details such as, the time a post was made, if it has been recently edited, the attention it gets and if there is a red flag on the account.
People are blind when they are trying to make money. Their subscription quota requires a certain number of posts, and from this, they scribble their messages, absolutely not reading the whole point of the discussion.
What to do ... thirst for profit always goes with some people, ahead of the very communication on the forum.

My first ranking up was a while ago. I moved from newbie to Jr Member today. Today is such a day for me to celebrate and enjoy. Today I feel very different happy myself. I am sure it is my birthday gift. With the help of everyone in this forum, I am able to achieve Jr. Member. I hope I can go so far. I want the cooperation of all in this foram. At first, I thought it would be difficult for me to rank up. But It is not. Ranking Up can be done easily if you try hard. I will do my best to contribute to this forum.

Thanks.
Such a great gift you have achieved. You are so lucky because you got a nice gift at your Birthday. I think I didn't see your helpful post before but I am sure you have delivered a wonderful posts, that's why you got your gift.
Best of luck for your next journey.

Not many users are focused on little silent details such as, the time a post was made, if it has been recently edited, the attention it gets and if there is a red flag on the account. It's a congratulatory post and everyone is always excited to see yet another user climb up the ranks but, in the case of this particular user, what caught my attention first was, the 50merit a mare 5 line post got from an experienced legendary member! Seriously, I just felt something fishy about it. I had to see the individuals post and it's more of quoting and complaint replies besides, the OP has been around since January and still just a Jr. Member. After a quick check on the trust system with Lauda and all DT on the user, it was clear how the user is not an inspiration in anyway to anyone. You can't be having negative trust and still be very inspiring!!!

Users on the forum should learn to do this at times, instead of rushing to drop your comments, make some observations on silent details to ensure your comment on a post is relevant instead of spamming and bumping a post that should even be an archived post.

First and foremost, congratulations for ranking up! I understand that it is relatively harder to rank-up compared to the time before the merit implementation happened but you deserve all the reward and credit!

Like what you mentioned, contribution to the forum garners merit especially if you contribute something that is at least substantial and/or entertaining to the viewers. In addition, make it a point to think that contribution makes the forum better and the merits that you receive is just a collateral to your actual contribution.

Not that inspiring really, but rather it does succeed in being exemplifying … in a different way.

The account tried to shine too much, and was hit by a 50 Merit spotlight, to the point that it became suspicious to some, and that led to some people to dig-in, and hey presto: It turns out that the account was ban evading, due to the person behind being the owner of a previously banned account.

Check the Trust on the profile, and specifically, follow the references, which will lead you to an enlightening thread on the matter: Does this thread really deserve the attention it has got?

On the one hand, he benefits from what he has done. But after 50 merit it came then it has backfired for him and have destroyed his journey in the forum. I think TMAN has done a good job so far, but without us knowing, he also managed to invite people attention to the account that got 50 merit from him and become a trending topic for a while in meta.
Merit hunters will always get attention because they were doing all these to rank up but TMAN has nothing to do with since he just following theymos words for merit sources, try to exhaust your merits withing the posts you have enough time with.

Well in fact, the 50 Merits ended-up backfiring at the account and, yada yada yada, it led to the account getting pretty tarnished beyond recovery: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=2726750

Rather much in line with the topic I created the other day on our local board on the topic of fairplay …

Whoa, you've reached 50 Merits in less than a Month, that's super fast!

True, it isn't easy at all to get 50 merits in 1 month, that only means The-Devil is doing something good. Keep it up the good quality post and enjoy the success in the ranking up.

It looks difficult to rank up, but is hard if you do it wrong, for those who find the right way to interact with the forum this task becomes easier.

Congratulations for your first second rank up.
First is rank up from Brand New to Newbie  Cheesy

You already have enough merit to rank up Member and Full Member.
I hope you can reach 250 merits before rank up to Full Member.
Good Luck!!

He has now 100+ merits and can be ranked to Full member if the activity is completed but then this Does this thread really deserve the attention it has got?  happened.
He was given 3 red tags by Lauda, marlboroza and morvillz7z for ban evasion and text spinning. If Copy paste is detected, he will lose his account permanently.

You are probably one of the many people who are very fortunate in this forum. Your account was created around 33 days ago and you get enough merit from other users so you only need more posts and activity to move up to the next rank. Congratulations !!

Unlike most other users, we have to go through a fairly long process, struggling to get merit by making constructive, informative, useful posts and trying to make a guide or tutorial on the thread so that we have the opportunity to the rank-up.

I hope you will get more merit going forward by becoming a useful user with your posts. Every now and then I feel jealous of users like you, getting quite a lot of merit easily even though you havent made a big effort compared to other users. But I dont think that is a problem, because everyone has the right to get what they want and this merit system cant stop anyone who wants to rise to the next rank unless they are posters of spam, junk, and low-quality post.

I will also get it at the right time later and make me a Legendary member. Cheesy
