Congratulations wnet! Is your hardware's name is also wnet hardware?  Tongue
That's a surprise that you didn't just accepted bitcoin/lightning network payment but you did really invested 10 grand on it. What a way to start accepting bitcoin payments. I wish you and your store well at all times. And what's next is probably look at your local neighborhood to look for other crypto folks that's near you.

I would like to thank the people who replied to my topic where I asked a few questions regarding the implementation of Bitcoin. Putting that aside, I have successfully implemented "Lighting Network" Bitcoin payments in my hardware store. Already 4 different persons have used Bitcoin as a payment today. I have not only implemented Bitcoin payments in my store but I invested 10 000$ in BTC.

I am fascinated by Bitcoin and I will definitely stay active in this amazing forum.

You did the right thing, OP. It's not only today your business will be standing out from others, but later when many stores around you will be accepting Bitcoin too, you will have all the right to have a plaque on your window "We were the first ...", or something like that.

Also, by staying active on this forum, soon you will be able to advertise your store in your signature here.

May your business prosper, mate!

Congratulations @OP.
This way, you can introduce bitcoin to people around you who go to your store and tell them that you have another option to pay and explain more about bitcoin to them.
You can be a pathfinder to bitcoin to become popular in your city and as the owner of the hardware store, you can tell your competitor that you are making a change to the payment system.
Sooner or later, if many people are aware of that, they will try to use bitcoin to pay and you can become have more customers who will buy many products from your store and your competitor will start to follow you.

Welcome to the club mate, that's a huge investment, and I can only dream that I have  the big amount of money to invest on BTC. And hopefully, your hardware store will also be successful, and it's very appealing to hear that 4 of your customers have used btc, that's a head start.

I am fascinated by Bitcoin and I will definitely stay active in this amazing forum.
For sure you will be hooked in this community, so many good topics to read and re-learn everything about bitcoin.

Very encouraging to see, and if I can suggest,,, what crypto people did in Singapore which I experienced personally, they tried to get people to use crypto to pay and offered them good discounts or like double stamps in the loyalty card (for example if not discount) if you paid in crypto,,, and that really worked.

Or even like a free small discount for downloading a wallet?

Good luck and enjoy Bitcoin use. Too few people make use important so I am happy to hear.

Congratulations a whole new level built. It's a plus to the crypto industry and also a boast to your venture. You must have considered the pros and crons before pulling the bull by the horn and took the big risk despite the consistent dip. It would still be nice if you could brief us on how you were able to achieve this so future investors might have a clue on how to adopt bitcoin too as a means of payment

Definitely a win for Bitcoin, your business, and your community. Good on you. How about some pictures of signage or whatever it is you use to accept Bitcoin. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words AMD everybody loves a little Bitcoin porn. Let us know how the popularity goes over time.

Congrats!
This sounds good and there are a few small merchants now adopting Bitcoin as a payment and the good thing is they applied Lightning Network that good for microtransaction for example for a small number of products to purchase.  Aside from that, it's totally safe than using a credit card because there's no charge back, make sure at least there's at least 1 confirmation to be done before your customer let leaving at your counter.

and maybe add a link to bitcoin.org in your "bitcoin accepted" signage/website for those who have no idea what it is and wanna learn more.
I like the idea, it seems you're advertising the forum as well.
Below on your QR code device reader, there's a line saying, "For more info. visit Bitcointalk.org for more details". Wink
This is beneficial for promoting Bitcoin.
Many shops now allow Bitcoin to be used for payment.
There are also many people who noticed the Bitcoin forum and came to the Bitcoin forum to learn,
Everyone in Bitcoin has slowly changed from a novice to an old member.
I have shared this forum with my friends and family. I believe that more and more people will be able to truly understand Bitcoin.

I am curious how you going to "distribute" you Bitcoin income? A lot of merchants make use of Payment processors too, so they convert the Bitcoin back to cash to bypass regulations and laws in their country. (Effectively ...you are accepting Cash and not Bitcoin, when you have transactions processed through Payment processors)

Are you going to keep a portion of the Bitcoin received and hoard it or are you converting all bitcoin received back into fiat? (The merchants that I spoke to, keep about 15% of the profit in Bitcoin to capitalize on the potential that the price might skyrocket in the future and then maximizing their profits)  Wink

Congratulations for successfully integrating Bitcoin into your company’s payment system, indeed this is the right step in the right direction as this will help speed up your transaction time and solving the problem on intermediaries.

I took a similar step some time ago and at this moment it yielding positive results for my company. I no longer have to struggle to balance my account as every transaction is stored on the blockchain; I made a similar thread on this you can look at.

That's good, for you and the community.
Also, that was exceptionally fast, only took about 5 hours after you've asked the question in 'Beginners and Help' board, about 4 hours after the first reply.

How did you implemented "lightning network" in your store by the way?
OP probably has some knowledge or has an employee that helped him with the implementation of LN in his store. I agree that it's a good thing for the community, with a business advertising bitcoin for many to see, I think that you're a big contributing to the increase in adoption rate in bitcoin and crypto as a whole, good job and have a prosperous business OP.

As the saying goes, 'big things started small', so hopefully this will be the case for you.

Accepting Bitcoin will have a lot of pros and cons, but definitely if you are a supporter of it, no matter what comes in the future, you will stick with it. And hopefully if some of your buyers notice he BTC logo, who knows, maybe they will be interested as well, so you are like a bridge and part of the bigger picture in the future.

Not new but it's a rather unique kind of store that's accepting bitcoin, most of the time the stores that are accepting bitcoin are food related or general retail related that's making this kind of adoption so it's a new thing for me.

Congrats on that! Having up to 4 different persons using it already shows that it's something your customers could have always wanted but it took a little longer for them to get. (They must have anticipated it). With such a great start, it's just a matter of time before you start getting more customers who will prefer paying with Bitcoin. Well done! Wishing you more success to your business and investments.

Yeah, I'm really happy to have implemented this now! Other stores and shops in my area only accept boring fiat. Who knows, I might be recognized later when Bitcoin will be accepted everywhere!

Grats OP  Cheesy

For additional exposure, I suggest listing your shop in online directories of bitcoin accepting merchants

and maybe add a link to bitcoin.org in your "bitcoin accepted" signage/website for those who have no idea what it is and wanna learn more.
