The education system is so diminishing at present that you cannot afford to get a admission even if you have scored  good numbers that will not make any difference unless you don't pay a donation and the education has become a business and even the teachers are interested only in getting a salary.

This is our future.  Their mommies told them they're smart and we have to deal with the repercussions of 'educated' idiots making the decisions.

This is the exact problem of the millennial generation.   They feel entitled because society permits it.

It has been observed that some of the private colleges in India take donations from students without giving the receipts , in turn, proving to be a source of 'black money'. Furthermore, the entrance exams are not conducted in a fair way. Deserving candidates are not able to gain entry to colleges due to financial problems.

@bold: In India?  Huh  My mom completed her post graduation in Law without paying a penny as she got a scholarship from the Government and Freeship as well. I too got a scholarship from the Government during my Engineering course.

It's wrong to quote statements which are untrue.

You must be talking about 19th century then..lolz..I don't know what your age is but just go the universities for  an admission and you will get the clear picture. Are you really from India?? I doubt. That's why students from India prefers to go abroad and study as the expenses are same but atleast you also hold a PR in countries like Australia and Newzealand till your course is over and that is an added advantage.

Thats correct. Education is no more Education now. It has become a business nowadays. Either you need strong reference point or you should have enough money in your bank a/c to buy the seat rather then earning it. Deserving Candidates are struggling and non deserving candidates gets the opportunity.

That's right. Worst situation in India when it comes to education. If you don't have money you can't expect admissions in better universities and rich people are just busy in buying the education so poor people stay away from better education and rich people enjoys.

Completely agree the donation level in any colleges and universities are so high it becomes difficult for an middle class person to take admission in his dream college and his dream will be always be dream and education is a business nowadays

Ad maiora!
Education is what you make of it. If you have some sort of goal or ambition, you can achieve things with an education that would be impossible to achieve without.
However, the problem with schools is not the 1% of students who are actually there to learn something, and it doesn't matter who pays for it. The problem is the 99% of students who are institutionalized idiots. The kids who only understand the routine of school and are attending post-secondary institutions simply because they don't know what else to do. These are the kids who threaten any prof who doesn't give them high grades, regardless of the quality of work. These are the assholes who will go into the real world absolutely unprepared to actually participate, contribute and work.
I don't think that's ever been different, maybe there were a greater percentage of kids who actually tried rather than coast through as earlier generations had to grow up amidst too much hardship to be as disgustingly entitled as millennials.
We need a total global war. A conflict that kills about 40% of the world's population, mostly under 30, and throws everyone into hardship, struggle and a common goal. That will put things right. After the dust settles everything will be fixed, for a generation or two, then its back to adult babies who don't even know how to wipe their asses, yet expect to be awarded every privilege accorded to those who actually contribute to society. See you in hell!

So you think I am 100 years old? I am from India and got the scholarship recently. In fact every student does get a scholarship or freeship rightfully depending on his percentage or financial income.

I and my mom both got scholarships and more than 50% of our fees were returned.

@bold: Expenses are the same  Cheesy You got to be kidding me.

What's your education BTW? I'm surprised that you haven't heard about a scholarship or freeship?

Education is only the part of things. You have to be skilled. In order to be skilled you need a job expetience. In order to have a job experience you need a job. To get a good job without connection from a start is nearly impossible. You need to know ppl. To be from a rich and powerfull family for example. Money is everything novadays. Just a college education will not get you anywhere.

meet people like you to create those connections. paper means nothing, it is buying prof`s time

I partially disagree. "Bought" education is only worth in government and some corporate positions.

Medical and industry people with university education in their respective fields were never worth more, than today. This trend will likely continue as these people get paid for results, rather than credentials.

Yes, everyone's aim is money including those providing and even those pursuing education.

Students have to learn so that they can earn well and colleges focuses on placements and annual compensations. The real purpose of learning is lost in the entire picture.

Very True. If you are skilled you don't need a degree to prove yourself. But the thing is if you go for a job they ask for your qualification the person who doesn't deserve the job gets the job and one who deserves doesn't gets it as he is not holding a degree.

I also forgot to mention that the education system has been turned into a institution to create more brain dead easily controllable slaves.

Not just limited to that, but they have actually turned education into a BUSINESS, "you send us your children, we sell them education". lol

Cost has been going up 2.5X inflation.

What it has come down to is this, I think.  The demand curve has become relatively inelastic.  People need college to get any sort of job.  Universities are going to the bank with that.

It's a total scam.  Just another scam in the seemingly endless sea of money grabs.  Now to send your kids to college you've got to go broke doing it or they come out so buried that they're totally fucked for a decade or more.

So, I'd say if mommy bought you an education, you may not be smart but you are very definitely one step ahead of the game.

Between that, the drugs and the poisoned food a lot of these people are gone.  Nearly zombies. Another nasty factor,  I think a lot were just born with stupid in their genes.
