Bitcointalk forum is very enjoyable since it has it's local board where you can easily express in a way with your language. Also this forum has many concerns to the newbies in the forum in a way that they teach newbies on how to be part of this great forum.

Agree, that area is the source of scam and other related activities. It is not good to avoid but better to be careful because many will going to offer you in the replies or thru PM that they can let you get into fraud by them.

Another thing to avoid are getting into negotiations like never trust anyone here and a good practice is to check the trust feedback of that user and if it is newbie then rhat would be high chance a scammer.

The sections/areas I visited,

Local - I am glad after seeing that we have our own section in the forum which I could use my native language.
Marketplace - I do not really know the posts in the section. What a big question in my head visiting some of its part.
Meta section - I have read the section description and says that the section is all about the bitcoin forum. (This forum probably)
Beginners & Help - It talks about scam, and some guide I found which is very useful in the future.
Bitcoin discussion/Altcoin discussion - full of topics and replies being made and I can't figure for now what the users are talking about.
Economy/off topic - Well a good start for me to participate in that area because I can make some inputs regarding to economy discussion especially here in our country.
Politics and society - another good section for me to participate but I am afraid I do not like to get involve in political issue. I do not want to say against any government system that could destroy their reputation.
Mining/Technical discussion/Project and etc.- I have no idea on these sections but pretty much sure I will be checking it in the future.

personally I think that when you go to visit this section:

- Currency exchange

- Announcements (Altcoins)

- Gambling

Goods

always take extra care and always search a lot on google and here: Scam Accusations to find out if they are not scammers, and in this section: Investor-based games just avoid using any website that is there

I think I was just lucky for the users around with their generousity in giving some merits. I would like to continue exploring the forum and hopefully will learn a lot in here. I will be glad to get along with other users as well. For now, I do think the best way to learn is to read. It took me some time already just doing online and reading.
Not lucky mate. Usually merits arent easily drop on a newbies account without any attention from high ranks. Your record is not rewlly bad but a good start for a beginner. If you dont believe me. Ive got to earned 10merits for a very long time and you are receiving fast but that's the thing. When you already on this stage just continue it. You are also right. Reading here more threads will increase your knowledge on different stuff use it and learn from it. Surely you can create quality posts related to those. Good luck with your journey here.
That's true, there is no luck from receiving any merits from this forum, it is all the result of your hard work and good information you have shared from this forum. There are no newbies that will receive merits if they don't even give some efforts for creating quality posts. You may create knowledge through your good knowledge, you may also share your skills and experience, you may also use the internet for search the topics you want to create, just include the link to avoid being plagiarized.

Well I am proud to newbie who can make into the right path not like us before doing shitposts like submitting reports on bounty task for social media even if it didn't make some earning. It was just purely a waste of time and resources. I am just being envy with newbie tha just started and earn merits. I had wish I could turn back time and then do things like earning merits and ranking up like what other do. I may be able to rank up at this rank but it was not likely fulfilling as what others do. Anyway, i still hope I can make it with just posting motivations I think I may be able to make it.
It's good to see that some newbies are motivated to earn merits and make quality content posts to make themselves useful in this forum, instead of making spam or low-quality posts to join in bounty campaigns that will take long for you to earn. So I see this newbie as a crypto enthusiast that he is enjoying and motivated in learning and accumulating in the world of cryptocurrency to achieve success and goals in his life.

For a newbie you've done great I have seen newbies that are already on their 50th activity but still stuck on newbie status, because they cannot even get one merit to rank because majority of their posts are trash and only use their account for airdrops and bounty submission
You keep up maybe after a year you will be two notch higher.

You are on a road to becoming a good contributor of this forum because you started in a right foot by acknowledging the various rules of this, so many newbies are not the same, they only have money in their mind just participating in bounty campaign and reporting their bounty reports and do not contribute to the health of this forum which is very unfortunate for them.
Good for OP. He's showing keen interest on the forum, provided how he thinks of it (and the different boards) and not thinking about how he can earn here alone.

If he keeps that attitude towards learning, he'll surely achieve the benefits from this forum and it's bonuses like improved knowledge in crypto and the like, ranking up, and earning. So, to OP, keep that up! Good luck. Smiley

Rank is often looked up to, but it is not tied to people’s worth. Eventually, you’ll decide that for yourself, and it will likely be based on observation of the content they provide (alongside other aspects such as tone and willingness to help around), rather than on the rank they hold.
You are right about that point. Ranking isn't everything. Ranking is only as an achievement that we can exceed the target we want to achieve. This forum provides a challenge for its members to be more productive with the merit system, so that members who are truly serious and members who just want to earn money can be selected without having to contribute much.

It is important that when we can present relevant and good content and comments, it will get more value. Troubleshoot some of the problems and participate in the discussions held in this forum.
That's what we catch because making money in this forum is only additional value, what we have achieved can be called our better achievement with relevant and productive comments, I am sure this forum with a merit system is much better than before, many people will continue trying to get through the challenge of contributing to the forum in order to get a merit that deserves a ranking is not as a pledge but content and ideas that will make people feel excited about you because you have presented useful content in this forum.

I guess this is the best place to learn about bitcoin.

Never limit your knowledge source to one point (i.e. this forum). One platform which you should check out, is Reddit which offers a vast of different subreddits, or subforums to check out on the latest news and how-tos.

I did chose to shitpost too by doing bounty reports which very tiring doing compliance in which you do not like to do but still you make it because you were thinking that you will going to earn. If I were you do not believe on every user saying that they earn in promoting scam ICO. Maybe there promotional ICO that really pay but it will be only some few cents or they just get lucky join a good ICO project. Anyway, the best thing to do as new in the forum is to follow every users suggestion here. Read and read guides that will be helpful for you to acquire knowledge and skills in bitcoin.

As far as it concern me, I see that this forum has rules to abide, well most likely every forum should have rules and regulations and this is not a problem to me. I have also the intention to join any promotional activities that could let me earn. For now, I do not want to get involve. How could I promote something that I do not even know what is it all about?

Yes, if you're promoting ICOs and altcoins, there's a good chance you are promoting a scam. Think about it, you probably wouldn't help scammers in real life, and you also shouldn't do so in crypto - it actually would benefit in this ecosystem if shady projects stopped getting any attention at all, so no signatures on this forum or reposts on twitter.

When I was a newbie. I used to do a lot of bounties, and some of them were scams, so my actions indirectly led to some people getting scammed, because I was providing exposure to scammers. So, always research what are you about to advertise, and think how it will reflect on your reputation.

For now I am taking a picture how I would be able to get all things done here smoothly. A special thanks to a friend who share this to me. It seems that I am not late in joining cryptocurrency because some of my friends does not really know what cryptocurrency/bitcoin is all about. I am confident and have the positive vibe that I can get along in here. I am glad to be part of this forum.

Take your time , as you go along and you get in more activity and more post, you will eventually get used on the rules and your posting habit, you are going to do it normally like engaging in a conversation but the difference is you are writing and you are conversing with people that is hundreds or thousand of miles away.

Yaiks, I thank you for the reward of merits you give. You were the first user to give to me and that would be remarkable to me. On the contrary you might also regret this for giving newbie a merit. I know that I could make mistakes here however I could be more careful not to get a bad reputation in this forum.

Earning merit is like a motivation or probably a sign that I should do exert more effort for it is still a long way process to achieve like you did. I will not expect to have a good progress here but as long as I will be learning about bitcoin specifically bitcoin investment. I have more time now to explore about bitcoin because of the forum. This is one of the best way to get inform about current events of bitcoin the forum. I guess this is the best place to learn about bitcoin.

Again, I thank you for the wonderful and warm welcome. I hope your having a good day today as I do. 😁

Note: I've merited your OP, but I do get the feeling you are not that new (one of the side-effects on this forum is that you end-up being wary about many things, even if that leads to false positives based on perception).

My only perception is that respect should be above all.  I have high respect to all users here especially the high rank users. The forum has hierarchy system of ranks and ranks of course determine your worth as a user correct me if I am wrong.

Ranking up also will be basing on reward or earning of merits. This is what determine the users capability in doing well in the forum. Congratulations for those who made it. I hope so that I could achieve something here in the forum. Good Luck to me!
Respect is a must no matter what your rank, how much your merit, how good you are etc.

It's true but not really correct.
Before merit system introduced (on early 2018) you can rank up easily because you only need activity as the requirement. After this merit system exist, all of old account who already have activity requirement for some rank... will got airdropped merit/initial amount merit as their rank. But for new account created after this merit introduced, they must get merit from other member to able rank up.
