Lately, I noticed that in the entire forum - people are practicing too much negativity, especially the DTs, more precisely the new inexperience DTs. Some of them DTs wake up to red tag other members. It's like "you want to be or stay in the DT network then tag as many members as you can". This is very dangerous practice for the community. This is triggering questions like followings...
# Should we leave red tag to delete post in self-moderated topic?
# Should we leave red tag to advertise service like gaining twitter followers?
# Should we leave negative for quoting entire post/bad post?
# Threat to leave negative if user failed to read a campaigns terms etc etc.
DT network or the entire trust system is to protect the community. But protecting does not mean that you become the devil and forget to forgive. If we forget to support each others, if we forget to correct each others then we can not claim that we are going to the right direction. We can not create good forum members instead we will create haters who will hate this forum eventually. This will make the community weak.
Anyway, I will use some example of good philosophy which may improve the situation we are in now.

before leaving feedback, ask yourself if your feedback makes the forum better, and (if applicable) is it worth destroying someone's reputation?

1I dont understand why you all are getting so trigger happy with tagging people for every case. Sometimes the logical method also works. Obviously if the person repeats offenses then a neutral tag would be appropriate.

Maybe now I understand what TheUltraElite meant when they said :

If you don't like the idea that your posts could get deleted, then don't post in self-moderated threads. You can't be upset when the OP uses the tools available at their discretion.
Notice the feedback left by theymos himself. I guess we have something there to learn from him.
At the beginning he used to leave negative feedback then overtime I see there is a change in his habits. He even left neutral feedback for a user who held 250
BTC but his current state was unclear to him but we could see several DTs would tag him red (well they did LOL).
Also, noticed there are a lot of the negs from him because of this kind of fake usernames. It's understandable that people tries to trick other creating username which is similar to him.
I hope I was able to make these points that...
- Feel good when you leave a positive feedback.
- Practice to leave neutral feedback. It's there for a purpose.
- Learn to forgive and help others to correct their mistakes. If they don't listen then leave the negative.
Based on the feedback leaving habit I have changed my trust settings. I will frequently update my list (entrust and ~distrust more people). If I included you in my trust list then it's obvious that I believe that you are one of the few who believes in creating good forum members.
discussion welcome
See you around.
1 Sorry mate I misunderstood you last time. You are a good guy around.
