I have a new monitoring script if y'all would like it.
It looks for things in the command line like job failed and if a gpu crashes and resets the miner
It not longer resets after so many seconds it only resets if a problem happens like watchdog on claymore

Might be nice to have.

The script I used did not work well.

Right now I run genoil with -g 0. Which gives me 1 gpu per pc and it shares with claymore.

I run Eth claymore with does the rest of the gpus

Result is say 3.5 of 4 gpus doing Eth.

And .5 of 1 gpu doing zec.

It is stable so far.

Be careful with MB temp Phil.

I noticed on 1 of my 5 GPUS rig running 3 ZEC GPUS and 2 ETH GPUs that MB reached 150°c in a short time.
This temp disappeared as soon as I shut down or eth mining , or zec mining.

the -k zec zec zec, just pushed the 6x480 to overdrive (over 200 sol/s) but the rig is pushed to its limits... its hashing but I need to leave it alone... its a low budget ETH rig btw, 1840 Celeron, H81 Pro BTC, 8gb ram, 120gb SSD

Do you think this mode can damage GPU?

Thank you both for the answer.

I was stupid about the -p , too much headache with the others problems... lol

But still not sur about the zec zec feature, should we try zec zec zec for better results and decrease if it's not stable ?

the newest genoil miner it has a watchdog built in but i have not tried it

with all my miners now on zcash im making 80$ after power at the current price.
monday tho i made 140$
also a sidenote to know if you have a dual core process that doesnt have hyper threading it will stay under load and the gpus wont be at max mining ability. zcash miners  need more than 2 cores to start and run smoothy it seems

Thanks you so much for the information.
I shut down all cpu mining and gpu hashrate increased way more ...
I lost lot of time and money because of it but now I can try to recover a little ...

Genoil 6 seems to stay stable with nanopool by the way.

you can thank phil
he helped me a lot over a year ago to get started into mining
im just doing what he did for me for everyone else thats needs it

I learned a lot with Phil too ! thanks guys.

Hashrate is better now without cpu mining , with genoil6 and nanopool. Almost no crashes.
Do we have a setting that allow cpu mining without any loss at gpu mining ? (even is cpu mining is reduced, it could be better than nothing)

And did you get more information about how the guy went to 1ks.s ?

I'm about to flip my rig for Zcash, especially with Claymore miner comming out in 1 or 2 days.

Might try Genoil tonight ... if I can cash out a card with Zcash I will be happy.

EDIT: BTW I know use the flag -gser 2 for my cards with Claymore, looks like to help with the initialization. I tried -gser 1 but I still had GPU4 not starting (0 mh/s).

I'm trying now with genoil6 + nanopool because it's not stable with flypool . (genoil 5 was not stable with fly but ok with nano)

I don't understand the -k zec feature. Can someone explain ?

and I what is the z without the - ?
in the nanopool help , they put x (-p x) instead of z (-p z)

-k zec is how many instances of the silent army kernel to run, by default is 2 so zec zec I think you make it 1 zec for cards that can handle it or 3 for better cards
-p (lower case) is password so you can put whatever after the space as value, z or x or abc or whatever.

-k zec means it opens only one instance on the gpu
-k zec zec means it opens only two instances on the gpu
the more zec zec you have the more hashs you get
but the load gets heavier on the gpus with more than two zecs
-p means password it can be anything

Claymore says he will be ready with his ZEC miner ins a few days (that was few days ago).

I stopped meddling with ZEC pools and genoil.... I just left it at nanopool and flypool with half baked genoil v0.5 resetting every 3-5 hours - it ain't elegant but i prefer to save my energy and wait for Claymore's ZEC miner.
