Thanks for sharing your valuable experience with the community. I think a lot of newbies here would be benefited by knowing how cryptocurrency market can give you a lot of profit out of very small investments and at the same time it can also take away all your hard earned investments. Like you said; experiences like this will only help you to become wiser. Hopefully; people will understand that too.
I started my cryptocurrency journey around July 2017. I bought some altcoins; verge; dodge, Xrp Siacoin on Bittrex and left some on bitcoin. It was a roller coaster for me around November to December 2017, particularly with verge, my crypo investment of just about $120 grew to a little bit over $3,000. I never new on time until I opened my bittrex. It was wao!
I took out some money since I was in need about $1000. With the euphoria of bitcoin suppasing $20,000, so I watched until my investment shrinked from about $2000 to $1500, then $1000, I decided to take out some little more until I had about $800 left.
That amount have shrinked further to about $450. The worst came when I took a third of the amount to buy Mithril coin when the news came that it won a vote to be listed on binance, and suddenly it was disqualified, and the price have falling like packs of cards, more than 50% right now.
Its a question of if I had known, I would have withdrawn the $3000 the moment I saw it on my bittrex account. Who can tell the future?
But I am wiser now.

Oh i confidently think that many of us had the same experience, not only with bitcoin, but with cryptocurrency altogether!
Too often than not, people make the cautious mistake of waiting on for something big to happen instead of taking advantage of the current market.
Yes, none can tell the future, but one can tell when a trade or an exchange is worth every bitcoin on our wallet.

Based on my experience in 2017. I see that market prices are not controlled. So that market prices continue to soar. Will it be repeated? All will wonder for 2018. How far is the market price compared to last year. But nobody knows because these fluctuations continue to be seen in the last few months in 2018. I hope this price will be better than before.
Peoples are investing because they want profit. All bitcoin investors are earns profit from this project. That’s why i think it is the sweet experience from bitcoin.
These are the experiences that prepare us for the future investments; rather than seeing it like a loss you have made; people should see it like what they have learned from such experiences. After All; this learning points are what makes us stronger and wiser. Moreover; investors should always have a positive approach towards investments otherwise it is easy to lose cool and make huge loss by making stupid decisions.
Like what old people says, the best teacher you will have is getting through mistakes. Making your mistakes as a lesson is the best way to recover from it. Its nice to see people who makes their mistakes as lesson. Keep doing what you think is best and dont lose hope on your goals here in cryptocurrency. Its nice to know that people like you take their mistakes as a lesson. Its nice to see that you didnt lose hope and you continue on supporting bitcoin. I hope that if other experience something like this it will make them even stronger so if someday that it will happen again they have the right mind to choose what is right for them. I think it as an experience mate. some days are awesome but there are also days that we have a few wounded that a life here in cryptocurrency and thats good because it teach you to become more wiser for the next situation to do
Obviously there is risk in every investment. Cyptocurrency market is not predictable; so no one knows about its rise or fall but learning from past you must take wise decision that what you need to do in future.
I had a similar expirence, although I didn't cash out in december and my $5k portfolio shrank to almost $1k.
Bitcoin is a great project for invest. Because bitcoin the market leader of this market. So you can easily earn profit from bitcoin because its demand always increasing.

Bitcoin is the most popular and profitable crypto currency in this market. From the last year it has made many people milliner with its market value. But the start of this year has shown a great down fall of it. The price of bitcoin has come to $5k from $20k.
Most of the old members of crypto have almost the same experience. We have seen how the crypto market grows from zero to Infinity and now we are seeing a superstar fall down! In this terms, I think Everyone has the same feelings when we checked our wallet in December 2017, Everyone was very happy, such an incredible moment that was. 120 USD to 3000 ISD! Just amazing, and no one can expect more than this. But now, ETH is 360$ and keeps Falling down. Every single USD down hurts me a lot because I really not like to see ETH in Under 400 USD.
I participated in bounty and I got a reward of 300$ and after two weeks I think it became 500+$ i don't sell them yet and now the price is 120$ only.
One can experience both the sweeter and bitter experience; it is really very unpredictable; anything can happen at any moment because any investment is related to risk. believe me or not you are the luckiest person on this market, the 120 became 3000 and you took around 2000, this is a very good profit, I have friends who have lost more than 30k during that time and haven`t got any of profits to cash out.

That feeling of 'if I only knew' is very common among traders and investors but there is no point in doing that because you will never know, besides you seem to be complaining about what happened when, if I read your post correctly, you still got incredible profits you invested 120 and withdrew 1000 and still have money left and if you wait for long enough you investment will recover, so the only thing you need to do is to become more accepting about the way this market moves because believe me there are people that would love to have gotten the results that you are describing.
