Nocks celebrates its sixth month anniversary!

It’s that time again! Nocks has a lot of cool updates for you.

1. Nocks Nifty for WooCommerce
Accept Bitcoin and Guldencoin in your webshop. You can set Bitcoin or Guldencoin as your general currency so you can set fixed Bitcoin and Guldencoin prices for your products. There is also a conversion tool for EUR and USD so users pay a live exchange rate in BTC or NLG.

Fill out your BTC and/or NLG address in Settings > Checkout > Nocks Nifty from your WooCommerce back-end and you’re good to go. Easypeezy!

Download at https://nocks.nl/nifty or straight from the Wordpress Plugin Directory.

2. Transaction limit raised
Our limit of 0.5 BTC per transaction has been raised to 1 BTC per transaction.

3. API
The Nocks API is now publicly available. You can build your own tools and plugins on top of Nocks and integrate Bitcoin and Guldencoin into your own software.

Check out https://nocks.nl/api

Later in the day a new merchant will also reveal itself!

Fantastic updates, keep up the good work!  Smiley This definitely makes it a lot easier for merchants to accept Guldencoin. However, I have one little question that might be very helpfull when it comes to stimulating merchants to adopt Guldencoin. Will it be possible in the future for merchants to get paid in Guldencoin and instantly exchange them for euro's?  This would mean that merchants have the ability to accept Guldencoin without the risk of devaluation  Smiley

The more merchants that only accept crypto and not exchange back to euro will help growth and people will see it more as a currency without worrying about fiat. Merchants who want Euro can use litepaid and merchants who just want crypto can use Nocks. Best of both worlds from what I see?

Thanks, I didn't know that was already possible by using litepaid  Smiley

I had one issue with litepaid which is why I haven't asked merchants to join.

Our next focus is with creating tools for physical merchants and an option to payout in EUR. But who would want that? Wink Happy merchant hunting!

Awesome, so Nocks will replace Litepaid in that regard?  Smiley I think Nocks should be THE one and only Guldencoin app for all kinds of different purposes. Maybe in the long term integrate features like smart contracts, asset exchange etc. The possibilities are endless  Wink.

Very good news for guldencoin!

Cool Great stuff Buearra and Patrick! Can you give an example how it works in practice? Best is to make that visible in a instruction video.

So when I go to a store and a pizza costs say 8 Euro,

1) How this can be paid with Nocks Nifty for Woocommerce.
2) Also how this is installed at a merchant, when he wants to join. And how to set a europrice for the customer or a btc/nlg price.

On the website there is a video of Nocks Nifty, but not a video of Nocks Nifty for Woocommerce.

Again great work done!

I now have between 70,000 and 90,000 KH/s on Hardcore Miners and should be able to maintain this for the next few weeks at least, months more likely. That's approx 5600 NLG or 0.0149 BTC per day at today's price..

Now this is the sort of news I like to see Smiley

If the community is able to come together, we can produce a dedicated hash starting from 100 Mhs, building upwards with increments of 10Mhs, upto a (currently) maximum roughly 4.5Ghs, all yields divided amongst the participants, for an unlimited amount of time  Wink

Building up around 3GH/s community hash would be ideal over the next few years. After the switch 500 MH should provide us great blockchain performance while MPs will still put over 2 GH/s at us during the low diff blocks.

ROI on rentals don't happen but I am doing this to see MP behavior before the switch over and what mining capabilities we need to build up for the future, there is a good chance the drop in rewards won't affect the hash rate as much as people think.

Determining factors.

1. The faster the average block times the more hash will be put against the blockchain. MPs have their own calculations built in, you can see the network hash rate has more then doubled because the blocks have been coming in faster. At one stage Hardcoreminers had 1.7 GH/s against it yesterday, when the difficulty dropped low the pool had no chance against the MPs. This leads me to believe at low difficulty we have over 10 GH/s coming onto the blockchain and then leaving.

2. Litecoin halving coming around the same time we switch over, if the value does not increase that hash will need to go somewhere else.

Other results.

Over 2GH/s dedicated will get us close to 500 blocks a day at this price/reward and over 6 GH/s on the network.

Looking forward to hearing more about what you learn.  Maybe start a thread at one of the community forums for more discussion?

How 24 hour or 7-day hashrate is calculated for NLG is very interesting to me..   I've avoided hosting any average hashrate or average difficulty charts at nlgstats as I'm not sure there is an accurate way of measuring those things when large jump pools are on the chain for very short durations or there are automatic drops in difficulty after long periods of time without any blocks being solved.

Just regarding my last point about over 2GH/s dedicated getting us close to 500 blocks a day, http://nlgstats.nl/, neogulden pool has close to 3GH/s on it.  The ave blocks times have come from 4 and half minutes and we under 3 minutes for the first time. DELTA is working great to provide that protection from MP jumps but also performs well when there is enough stable hash on the network. We also have a few tweaks we can do to DELTA if we ever require a hard fork again but overall the results are as I expected.

It is impossible to get an accurate measure of the network hash power, only a rough estimate, and the lower the difficulty the more wildly inaccurate that estimate will be. The entire thing is a game of statistics/chance so a precise measure is impossible.
That said the estimates are still useful (especially for higher difficulty blocks) as they do give an idea what has been going on - but for a block that is solved in 2 seconds it tells you absolutely nothing of worth.

Guldencoin needs to move away from litepaid and make it's own payment gateway because EFL is riding us and will be riding dgb who also adding merchants. It's not very fair what litepaid is doing.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.12170451
'

Please don't fall for these trolls, This is complete BS.
Digital currency is a free world with free markets, The Guldencoin,Digibyte and EFL users can choose whatever they want but do you really think that people will just buy a coin because it's on litepaid/Litebit? Offcourse not, Digibyte and Guldencoin are in the news allot last weeks and the trust is getting bigger and bigger, People can use it more and more, The development is ongoing and thats why people will buy Digibyte and Guldencoin from litepaid.

Earning trust takes a long time, Loosing trust hurts you forever and can be done in seconds.
Let us work towards the future and let them dream about it Wink

Nicely said. Concentrate on growing and supporting NLG in whatever direction you can and don't fall for the negative, "pick a fight" mob mentality retoric...

5000 blocks to go before rewards are lowered. 2 more weeks of very low prices, I think it will go under 200 by end of next week.

I think buyers will step in sooner, not at the last moment. But we 'll see.

5 mil coins @ 200 sat = 10BTC
You need 5 BTC worth of sell orders to 200 sat.

So... no, now it's time to step in  Wink

this days i will be a miljonair  Cool
