Hi all,

Will Guldencoin somehow be present in bitcoinmeetup.nl this month in the Netherlands?

Tks

Someone said guldencoin doesn't have any marketing people so I assume no one is going.

What does that have to do with anything? lmao..

I have started a food for thought topic regarding Guldencoin supply and how the 1.68 billion should be delivered over a 40 year time frame. Please feel free to get involved in the discussions.

https://community.guldencoin.com/t/the-bigger-picture-for-guldencoin-supply/1081

Digibyte also changed their reward rate from 50% to a 1% decreases more frequently , this is another option that guldencoin can look at. Overall I would be down with a static block reward for 40 years, the coins consumer growth in theory will increase with time so it is a better option. Too many new users to cryptos are scared to get involved with bitcoin at such a high price. Normal users don't think about mBTC and only look at the whole coins value.

From Digibyte announcement post:
Scarcity: 21 Billion DigiBytes will be created in 21 years.
1% Monthly New Minting Reduction: New DigiByte production decreases 1% every month.

I have started looking at bytecent lately and Chris created the coin to have 1 byc reward per block for 55 years, it will never halve. Guldencoin should consider this move because bitcoin is failing with the initial investors owning majority of all the coins. Bytecent has the right idea but they are closed source coin which is something I don't like.

pos pow pom

POM is latest FAD, guldencoin must just stick with halving but if change is needed in the future then community must allow it.

Like I mentioned yesterday on https://guldencoin.zone/threads/the-bigger-picture-for-guldencoin-supply.105/#post-1194\ , guldencoin will be a great success through our actions and not our words, but we have to keep a open mind about things and implement changes that will benefit the currency.

Hi,
I've got a technical issue.  I just downloaded the new mac wallet and copied over my old wallet.dat file.
However when I open the wallet I get this
"System error: CDB() : can't open database file wallet.dat, error -30974".
and this
"A fatal error occurred. Guldencoin can no longer continue safely and will quit.
EXCEPTION: St13runtime_error
CDB() : can't open database file wallet.dat, error -30974
guldencoin in Runaway exception"

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Do you have another backup of the wallet.dat file or tried using the wallet from another machine?
I've downloaded the wallet again from page 1 here rather than the website.
All my transactions have confirmed with a black tick rather than a green one, maybe that's normal, and I no longer get the error message when I close the wallet.

Welcome Nutty,

Sometimes it gives that error if file permissions are wrong and it can't read it, eg if you copied as root, it can also be some form of corruption with the old wallet.

However it sounds like you have come right, but let us know if you still having a problem.

Development Update:

MaNI has been working on analysis graphs for Multi Algo testing which will begin in June, this will give us a clearer picture on how many ALGOs is the sweet spot when it comes to block times and performance.
Once we have what works best we will look at what is practical when it comes to individual block times vs price for miners to make sure it's still attractive for each algo to get a fair amount of hash behind it.

All testing will be done on the latest bitcoin code base which will be bringing us many new features and putting us on a firm footing to move forward with our own innovation (Besides DELTA) and being up to date with what bitcoin has. Our Multi-Algo solution will be unique to what works best for us.

Looking forward to the multi-algo. Happy testing MaNI!

Guldencoin really is going places. I see the price got dumped to 265 earlier this week , I need to learn to put in lower buy orders Sad
