Congratulations on the Russia Today interview! I almost spit out my coffee!

do you have a link?

I wish I had thought to grab a screen shot, I was too stunned. It is not available a la carte on their website yet. I am watching the live stream and waiting for it come back so I can grab a screenshot.

Interesting. Is it broadcasting several times, as you say you'll make a screenshot next time?

Good things are coming indeed! One of the major true values of this coin is the relaxed and long term perspective. This sometimes means things take a little more time than others, but in the end, Guldencoin delivers! And man, I know whats in store Shocked

Lets just say, "Christmas is coming" Grin

That sounds good, LTEX.

What are you refering to Grin

Curious also here. We'll see.

Hello everyone!. Yesterday GAW miners launched a website for their new coin, Hashcoin. They claim that the tech behind their coin is better than that of Bitcoin. On https://hashcoin.com/white-paper they explain the Algorithm. Can anybody with some knowledge analyze this and see if maybe Guldencoin can profit from it.

Guldencoin Crossroads

The way I see things right now is that guldencoin devs doing work on something that is not going to benefit the coin against other coins who have more stable network. It has to be new algorithm to make
it all worth it because it take too long to fix. I know it need to be done but it also prevents other advancements in guldencoin as devs keep all focus on algorithm change.

On positive side this last 2 month has shown how strong this community is who have added to Guldencoin, Don't get me wrong the updates still come fast but not from dev team and more from the users which is better as coin does not rely on team so much.

Patience, all good things come to those who wait, once our network is running smoothly we will have that plus A LOT of other things 99% of the other coins don't have Smiley
Looking at the timeline on the OP always amazes me how much has gone into Guldencoin, if anything I would say marketing is most likely the biggest weakness.

While the hashpower simulator may not be the algorithm change, it's a solid tool that I believe will be invaluable to the development of all coins, not just Gulden.  Can you imagine how many struggling coins are going to test with this?  I can see the concern of not actually coding an algorithm change(correct me if I'm wrong, and this is being worked on), as we could just use the testnet, but this will also help us figure out what is wrong with the current code.

I for one am excited to test it out.  The Criptoe team will probably use this extensively with our code testing.

Hello,

I have a question: I sent 50 000 NLG to Bittrex, I was in a hurry and did not realise that it was my old version wallet the 1.2 and not the 1.3.
Will this be a problem ? If, yes, how can I get my coins back ?

Thank you

I think this will get your coins back:

1) save your wallet.dat (in appdata/roaming/) first on another place (backup), but let it in there also.
2) install the new wallet version 1.3
3) remove the maps "blocks"and "chainstate" (in appdata/roaming/guldencoin/)
4) start the new wallet.
5) wait to reload the blockchain

Wait on comments of others as well, but I think it will work, because the coins you sent with the old chain will come back in the new chain (as if not sent with version 1.2) again, I think.

Thanks Veertje for the quick answer.,.

Give it a try, other option is not there, I think. Hope it succeeds!
(The coins you sent with the old chain will come back in the new chain again (as if not sent with version 1.2) , I think.)
Unfortunately, it did not do it. I did what you told me to. New wallet is fully sync. but under last transaction I can see the - 50 000 NLG.
I think I will have to try something else, have u got another idea ?

Thanks

Maybe open version 1.2 again 1 more time after doing the same to reload the blockchain again to remove "blockchain" and "chainstate". Maybe it stops at the last block of that old chain, without the transaction made. Hope so for you. Else I don't know what to do. (Make a backup of wallet.dat again also)
Thanks Veertje... Grin Gulden are back.

Is November going to be a good month for Guldencoin? Does anyone know what is planned?
I am hoping the algo change takes place this month so the team can keep moving forward with it's plans with iOS.

Every month, even last month, although it didn't look like it to most after September, has been a rather good month in my opinion. I agree with algo-change, that hás to happen. But that and iOS aren't the only things. Someone on the official forums was working on getting NLG in a magazine, LTEX's rebus/puzzels and his projects is also still coming I guess, I am working closely with another community member on something that will nock your socks off and that is just projects that I know of. There are probably some other community members working on projects and products.

This is why the team has the time and space to work on the algo, which takes up most of the time. We've seen GJ code live, the beast that he is, we're in good hands. And his last updates about the simulator that he is building to determine the best algo for NLG. Seems to me, we're doing pretty good Wink

We could use some good media coverage in NL and more users and miners, but without news or updates, in my opinion, coverage is quite useless. So with new algo, iOS, any of my or other members' projects going live, new merchants, accepting charities etc. etc. November should be good and good coverage in the media can follow shortly. Followed by new users and new miners.

They caused hashing problems with bitcoin in the past (>51% hash rate), compared to them clevermining is peanuts... do we really want that?

It wasn't problems with Bitcoin and Ghash/Cex.io was it? It was the fact that they have so much hash added to the network that they could launch an attack but swore they never would. Clevermining is a multipool that only mines when it's most profitable, Cex.io isn't a multipool that works this way I believe?

Sure, they are not the same. But, it all comes down to trust (how much do you trust the words of a/any pool owner that they wouldn't do a 51% attack). >51% is something no pool should be able to get at one point, that would be the best. We are currently unable to cope with clevermining's hashing capabilities... my worries are that things would get worse if Cex.io will start mining NLG. But, I could be wrong.

Fair enough. Oh and Sven, Litecoin is mined there as well Wink That should answer your question. Also I doubt that Ghash would add more than 5GHs to NLG if they were to add mining of NLG. They would probably only add it to the trading section. Like NMC, AUR and some others that they don't support mining for in their systems.
