vs3, quick question: why do the bitfurys in the nf6 design not run at their top frequency (6x3.5 = 21GH vs ~12.5GH)?

NanoFury NF6 DIY kits update - I have 4 panels left, which can be yours at $80 per panel.

They're 8 boards per panel.

As a few people asked "Where do we get the bitfury chips from" - here is one good option if you're in the US:
I still have about 200 chips. I have been getting some pms about these lately, so I updated the BTC prices to match current market value.

BitfuryStrikesBack currently has their store closed, and I havent seen anyone else selling these, but if you can find a better price I will beat it.

Update regarding the DIY kits - I had several people asking for the schematic and design files as well. Those are available to the manufacturers at this time (and please get in touch with me if you'd like to become one)

However, as the previous DIY kits were also used as a proof-of-concept/capabilities for future manufacturers I'll add those to the 5+panels deal. And since I have just over 5 panels - there will be one such person.
So - if you order 5 or more panels I'll throw in also the schematic and all design files.

Aside from that they will be going to github in a few months (which was by request of the few manufacturers who have sponsored the development so far).

I notice that error rate start very high and after slowly go down.

Is soft startup of Vcore a way to improve it?

That's for the 6-chip device, or at 15GH that's roughly 2.5GH per chip.

(and I already discussed that with pinkfloyd11 over PM so this clarification is just for the rest of the folks)

Thought I'd respond to this here -

And as for convenience - I think this is among the easiest (if not The Easiest) device to enter the hashing world - it is literally just plug-and-play ... it doesn't get any more easier than that ... Or if someone has any ideas - please share! Smiley
The NanoFury 6 is almost plug-and-play - you still need to download the software and set it up right.  Purely as a thought:

The way big miners solve this is typically by including a Raspberry Pi that acts as both the host to the miner as well as presenting an interface to the miner to a terminal user, often over a network connection.  That's well outside feasibility for smaller miners.

What smaller miners could do is present themselves as an external drive when first plugged in, with the required files and a setup tool included (optionally with a suggested autoplay that still gets presented to most users), and switch to the actual mining device when setup has concluded; alternatively, present itself as both devices at the same time.

If done, it would truly become 'plug and play'.  The reason why it's just a thought: the storage required - it tends to exceed the available space on most microcontrollers, and external storage is relatively expensive in both price and board real estate.  So for a fairly small bit of convenience (people who use these do tend to be fairly tech-savvy), it adds quite a bit of a burden on the design and price.  Distributors would be better off providing top notch service by having a web page dedicated to setting it up and/or including the necessary files and documentation on media included with any shipment.

Vcore is 0.918V~0.92V; some active cooling but notice the error rate!!! only 1.5%

Yeah - those chips can tolerate some heat, but they really love it when the temperature is in the 60-70C range Smiley

that works out to: 0.92V * 3.0A = 2.76 W

2.76W/3.5Ghash = 0.7886W/Ghash; and this is only a mild overclock. i can go up to ~1.05V, just need more cooling
