Do you run the BFL-Software? Did you consider using cgminer instead?
I don't know how well the BFL-Software works, but cgminer seems to distribute shares among pools very efficiently, so only few shares are lost, if the main pool is lagging or down.
This is a good question.... I have heard very good things about cgminer.

Also now that we are getting to business... did you have any plans of putting up a status page OgNasty so we can check on the farm status?

As backup-pool I would like to recommend eclipsemc. They seem to have nearly equal conditions as ozcoin.

Auto-tuning it now with BFL software to determine the proper bitstream.

I auto-tuned the BFL Single and installed the 832MH/s bitstream as recommended.  Testing is currently underway and this BFL Single will be hashing for us before the end of the day...  Which brings us to a question.  What pool do we want to use?

For those not familiar with GPUMAX, when public work is not available, it falls back to your standard pool.  I'll admit I haven't researched Bitcoin Mining Pools in a while, but did go over a few of the larger ones last night.  I decided that Ozcoin Mining Pool would work best for our purposes, due to their low fees, automatic NMC->BTC conversion, and Double Geometric Payout Method.  If no shareholders are opposed, in addition to GPUMAX, we will be mining with Ozcoin.  This morning I setup an account and set the donation rate at 1%, but am open to suggestions on what we should be making as far as a pool donation as well.
With my measly share count I have the following input:
  • Use GPUMAX, as long as we don't have some of the timeout errors other have been reporting
  • I think 1% donation is a good idea, karma people karma
  • I am not in a position to compare pools, so I will abstain from that vote

Also I assume that the dividends will not payout at the contracted 20Mh/share yet.  Do we have a count of what the Mh/share will be for these first tiny payouts?

Actually that's a Rev. 3 (heat pipes). The sheet that came with it says rev 1.  I think they kept that same sheet for most of the newer orders.  Keep 'er cool!

Interesting.  I thought all the Rev. 3's had a second fan installed on the bottom. Auto-tuning it now with BFL software to determine the proper bitstream.

On another note, I've received an email from Butterfly Labs saying that our next 2 BFL Singles have shipped and we should receive them by Monday.

In an effort to get dividends for this operation rolling as soon as possible, I have come to an agreement to purchase 1 BFL Single from forum user kibblesnbits.  This single should be shipped out tomorrow and dividends will begin being paid shortly after receipt of the device.

Looking forward to becoming a fellow shareholder.  Have it shipped first thing Monday morning.

I have in my possession, a revision 1 BFL Single sent by kibblesnbits.  Tonight I will use the BFL software to test and load the appropriate bitstream.  Once the appropriate bitstream has been loaded, I will begin a 24 hour test to make sure the unit is functioning properly.  If everything checks out, I will get this thing hashing for us in hopes to provide a small dividend this coming Saturday.

I kinda prefer a regular set time each week.  Easier to keep track of things.

But I won't be upset if I received smaller dividends frequently throughout the week.

+1

It's much easier to compare Nasty to other listings if dividends are paid weekly, just as most other companies do it.

Will the dividends be paid weekly?

I've been contemplating this.  I am torn between paying them weekly on a set schedule, or paying them randomly whenever I am in the GLBSE account.  Anyone have a preference?  Random payments would most likely be much more frequent.

Just like I invested in MergedMining, I will also be investing in this ASAP.
OgNasty has yet to fail in paying out consistently.

Thanks Kain.  Always great to hear praise from a member who has been around longer than myself.
