1 week more to go and the NBA will officially resume, I'm happy to see that as early as this, you are already sharing your opinion of the first game guys, yes, the Lakers and the Clippers are great teams, it's hard to cap this game, we can stay away if we are not confident with our pick, but since this is an opening game, I think I would regret if I will not put my bet.

To add spice for those speculations about Lakers vs Clippers, I also agree that the game will be a pure offense.

I will give Over 218 points with an 80% chance to happen. Those Clippers who aren't expected to play are more defensive type players.

But for who will win between them, I understand it's hard to choose but Lakers won't miss any of their key players so I think Lakers will take this one. Paul George and Kawhi Leonard also no need to push hard to win on this game if they see they can't handle the Lakers in the early quarters. Playoffs spot already secured. No homecourt advantage so seeding might not be prioritized by these top teams.

Thanks for that wonderful analysis, I read all the analysis here, I appreciate here, not for me but for all of us, but I will not put my bet right away, there's still plenty of time to bet, so I'll just wait at the right timing, as usual.  Cheesy

1.7 ML for Lakers is a very good odds for now if it is still available because of the news that Patrick Beverly will be leaving the bubble to attend family matters. If only the odds for that game is available on my bookies i would exploit that one, not a sure win though but at least it will give some advantages to the Lakers.

Huge blow for Clippers ahead of scrimmages as Patrick Beverley leaves NBA bubble
With or without Patrick Beverly for clippers my bet will still goes to Lakers. This because I have trusted the line up and Lebron is also there that could carry the team. The lakers now is one tough team for having a good line up with inside and outside players. This is what the coach wanted I guess for letting lebron having his old shooter friend like green. Other than that inside players like Davis can get the ball if ever 3 pointer ball will going to miss. The best part is that 3 pointer could confidently throw 3 point ball game because of good rebounds they can get from the team.

My point here is that if you are really betting for the Lakers then bet now as the line will move later because of the news that one of the core player of Clippers will not play. There's no question that the Lakers is a strong team now but you have to exploit the odds given by the bookies if you want to win a little bit bigger.

Well, since Patrick Beverly leave the bubble, the odds might change, so let's wait for the movement.

The news already came out but there's been no changes with the line, it's still the same the last time it was shared.

Lakers still at -1.5 and 1.789 for Moneyline bet.

Will check this again tomorrow, sometimes it doesn't react so fast, and sometimes, line movement will only reflect hours before the actual game, so it's really important to carefully monitor that line.

If you are betting with the Lakers, better take it now, but if you are in the opposite team, then wait until the line will move so you will get a better odds.

Clippers are good shooters as well, actually both teams are good so it's really hard to analysis on this particular game, what we will decide now will only be based on what team we love to watch as I don't see any advantage or disadvantage here that could make a certain team a sure winner.

Thank you for your suggestion, but I think I would not bet on the over 218, I have a little doubt on the line,

Players are aggressive and excited to return. Over 218 points will be an easy goal for them. Lakers and Clippers are averaging 114.3 and 116.2 points per game respectively this season. I'm expecting a regular exchange of points for every possession.

But for ML, it's hard for me to choose over these two top teams. If only Lakers have at least 1.9 I will choose them. But it's still a week before their game, odds might be adjusted if those missing players of Clippers will now be playing.

Agree, this Over points will be likely meet as both teams are both firepowers and with this lockdown players are all excited to play ball.
Most of those will going to keep shooting and average might be exceeded. In terms of ML both have their favorites and can possibly
win over another.

It's difficult to analyze now.
Do they really need the win or will this just look like a scrimmage too?
If it will be like an All-Star game where the defense is whack to avoid injuries then, a high score could happen.
Higher chance of winning Over 218 bet.
Maybe wait until July 30 before you put your bet, in more than a week, a lot of things could happen, we need to know who will play and will not play.
These teams does not need to play like other teams that who are in the bottom, so an over is a good bet, but like I said, let's wait a bit.

But I might just wait for games which needs a win the most. i.e. Blazers and Pelicans.
Unless there is a better offer for other games.

The odds is where we can find the offer, if you look at the site, the odds for other games is already available, it's up to you when you start betting.

Good point too, and they are not anymore fighting for the spot since they are already in the 1 and 2 position, so maybe this is something we also have to consider, in fact, I'll consider this before I would pull the trigger.

I will be adjusting, I'm on the dog between the two, but I will not take an odds lower than 2.00 even if I have to adjust on the point spread.

Do you have an analysis on this first game, Lakers are the favorites now, so, is it good to take the Clippers here or Lakers?

Some of the L.A Clippers' key players might not make it on the resume of the tip-off (L. Williams, M. Harrel, I. Zubac etc.). Although we know K. Leonard and P. George can still carry the Clippers, at least, playing against the healthy Lakers should need a healthy lineup too. M. Harrel is notably doing good before the NBA canceled the season. He was even chosen by the ESPN panel as NBA's Sixth Man of the Year because of his big contribution to where the Clippers is now.

As for my own, I'd rather skip betting on Moneyline between these two teams. Although there are scrimmages before the official game, I see that they are still in the phase of being used to play in the environment inside the bubble.

I preferred Over 218 pts between the odds of @1.7- @1.9.

Thank you for your suggestion, but I think I would not bet on the over 218, I have a little doubt on the line, I think oddsmaker knows that players are playing in unfamiliar court so they might have a struggle scoring, and both teams are good defensively as well, so they might play hard to maintain the spirit going to the playoffs.

For the Lakers vs Clippers, I am not skipping this game I guess, I would still bet as I like to watch the first game when the NBA officially resume, and we are talking of Lebron vs Leonard here, so it should be an entertaining game to watch.

I will finalized it a day before the game.

If betting is available for this game, I'd love to put my bet as well, but I think there's no betting line for this?

I'm skeptical that will see options to bet on those scrimmage games next week, but that's not a huge surprise, at least to me.
Most teams are not in full-squads (due to various reasons) yet, i just read that the quarters will be cut down to 10 minutes...bookies will definitely stay away from this.

It is now 100% confirmed that all exhibition games will be televised in one way or another:

Plans call for all 33 exhibitions to be televised by some combination of local TV, national TV, NBA TV or NBA League Pass.

edit;

Each team will play three exhibitions, and the last two for each club will have the traditional 12-minute quarters.

A small correction, so only the first games for each team will have shortened quarters (10min).

Thanks @Distinctin, at least we already have an idea now.

You're welcome, I just like everyone to be aware, this thread needs to appear from time to time as the season reopening is approaching.

I think some of the early lines we see now will undergo very significant changes/adjustments over the next 10 days.

I am already expecting that, but if the odds is available already, I'd love to put my bet early, just to kill the excitement inside.

Starting from 22 July teams will have 3 scrimmages to play, (almost all, if not all will be televised) they should give us (and bookies) a general idea of what to expect from teams, roster wise, team fitness, chemistry etc. I think for those interested in betting week 1 games, these scrimmages are a must-watch.

Full scrimmage schedule here: https://twitter.com/NBA/status/1279445379587739651

If betting is available for this game, I'd love to put my bet as well, but I think there's no betting line for this?
