Hi guys,

Here are the odds I have for tonight's games:

What are your predictions?

I am leaning towards the Rockets @ 1.838. And probably the Spurs @ 1.611 they should do the job, maybe minus the points (-3.50 @ 1.916).

Thoughts?
I take this two for my parlays, playing for fun and just a small amount as I really have a good feelings that spurs and and rockets will take this game away from their respective opponents, Harden loves to play against tough teams and he really wanted to showcase his skills when facing competitive players, while spurs might found their chemistry and playing as a team more likely now.

The Rockets with that odd at home is a good take. I also have a bet on Bucks against Jazz which I think should be a safe gamble. I do think that the best way to bet on NBA is during the playoffs where nearly all games the teams will do everything to get the wins.
"safe" is a stretch here. Utah is 6-1-1 ATS in last 8 games playing on one day of rest, and Milwaukee 0-4 ATS in last 4 games against West Conference foes (ok this stat is not the most meaningful but I'll take it into account).
I like Utah + 5.5 points. So we can both win here, perhaps a win from Milwaukee 103-100 or similar.

I bet on basketball and it depends on the playing team and odds, if the odds are +9.5 on the underdog it kinda bothers me to bet on my team. Just like on GSW vs Rockets. Rockets +8.5 then the final score was 134 - 135. so yeah, lose. it's unpredictable even with the odds.

I got one day day off just to think over why I had a cold streak so far. Now, I think I'm back and ready to break this losing streak.

Rockets vs Nuggets

Both are good teams, but I like the Rockets chances to win as they are playing at home and Harden is playing like a real MVP so far.
This looks like a trap but I wouldn't mind being trap, I just have to go with my guts and play the Rockets here.

Pick - Rockets -1

Another losing day, both of my loses are games that went to OT. Harden was hot tonight, they rally in the 2nd half.
Moving forward on tomorrow's game. I will bet on both exciting team to watch, very offensive.

Both teams are in a 2 winning streak, they have a good momentum, but this game I will choose the team with a home court advantage, which is the Trailblazers. No injury report for them, so they should match the OKC very well.

Wed January 4 - Blazers vs OKC

Pick : Blazers Moneyline

I'd like to hear your thoughts about my pick

Honestly, I never see Trail Blazer will win this match against Oklahoma City Thunder even they have the homecourt advantage because of Westbrook and Paul George tandem compared to Damian Lillard and C. J. McCollum. For this match, I'll go with OKC.
You're right, they lose, but it's a close game.  With that being said, I guess I have to move for tomorrow's game.

My pick will follow later....

THU January 5- UTAH -1.5  vs DETROIT +1.5

They will have their first win as they go back at home. the team are full of injuries but I think they can battle the UTAH JAZZ here.

Pick : DETROIT +1.5 Take it or leave it.

I totally agree with this one though, the point is home court advantage is not a real advantage if you have got losing streak since 5 years ago. And I really hope that Westbrook is in the best performance,
I'm not really looking at this factor, therefore I don't consider this.

Just for the record, Westbrook never won on Moda Center since 2013. Smiley
This one is a killer, OKC needs to break that drought because I start backing them, I bet based on stats, not on the motivation of the players, you can't see emotion, right?

P.S I invite you to join regularly the discussion at NBA thread "if you like". Since you are asking about thoughts, you can have some quiet discussions there. Smiley
Been watching that thread all the time, and have posted many times, maybe I'm just busy in this thread. lol.
Soon, will participate on the discussion, it's a fun thread, lots of NBA enthusiast there.

You can take that since if we have to based on odds given on Moneyline, it's quiet identical to the Oklahoma City Thunders.

Just for the record, Westbrook never won on Moda Center since 2013. Smiley

On the other hand, for let's say Westbrook will got again into off night performance, his backup cager Paul George always there to step up. There are lots of previous games that OKC won wherein WB doesn't performing well.

Odds wise, nothing wrong with the pick. I can also pick OKC if I like.

Milwaukee Bucks - Atlanta Hawks   TIP Brook Lopez 12,5  pts   odd  1.75

Lopez is playing fantastic recently, must be said he is in great form. He is scoring 12.6 pts avg. per game. In last four games he was one of the best in his squad, scored 20, 17, 24, 25 pts. So 13pts is something he can achieve with ease tonight, odd is more than worthy.

Boston Celtics - Dallas Mavs.  TIP   D.Smith Jr.  11,5+   odd  1.90
Celtics with 22-15 win-loss ratio including two stringed wins at home. Celtics are playing great defense, D.Smith was injured some time but after injury he played four matches and scored 14,14,10,18 pts. Last two games he played 20 and 22 minutes because of blowout but I expect him to play 30 minutes tonight if we exclude blowout. His avg. this season is 13.2 pts per game.

Do you have any bets for tomorrows game? I just wanted to copy your bets. I feel like you're a good NBA bettor. Or can you suggest a match that you feel this team have a higher chance of winning?
(Trail Blazers vs Thunder) This match for tomorrow. Which team you think gonna win?
He usually put his bet early but after the the result of his current bet.
His record is positive but we cannot say this will be consistent throughout, his style of betting is good as he only bet one game a day, this way, it increases his chance as he can carefully analyze whatever game he will choose. Been watching this thread also, if he will wins tonight, I'll tail tomorrow.

What does the -8.5 mean please?

It's just a simple handicap line. Warriors start the game with 8.5 pts deficit and in order for stadus' Pick : GSW -8.5 to be winning, Warriors have to beat Rockets by at least 9 points.

Thought so, but wasn't sure.

Can you also explain the money line to me?
Moneyline is when you bet on a team to win straight up (SU), it's the term in sports betting, you'll get acquainted to it as you go on with your journey.
For example, in the game tonight between the warriors and the Rockets, their odds when betting on moneyline is 1.25 and 3.95 respectively.
Which means, if you bet on the warriors and they won, you will only win 25% of your bet as they are the heavy favorite, on the other hand, if you put your bet on the Rockets and they won, you will win 295% of your bet, which will give you a very good return.

After the latest game between Milwaukee and Detroit, I have started to believe that Bucks will be the winner of their region and why not going to the NBA finals. I thought that their great performance won't last long and it will stop at the beginning of this year, However, they still continue to perform great. Do you believe that it is worth betting for them to reach the finals?
Detroit is a shitty team right now, only Griffin is constantly scoring, but I believe the Bucks has a shot to be in the Finals or even take the championship. They are the warriors destroyer, so if they'll meet in the NBA Finals, they have a decent chance, although they are still an undergo on the series.
