Hello everyone, how was your vacation?

Time to go back capping now for tomorrow's game, we are in a win streak currently and I hope we will be able to continue that.

Tomorrow's game Lakers +2.5 vs Rockets -2.5

Line open at Lakers -1 but the current line now is Lakers +2.5, maybe because Capela will be back from injury and I think he will again
help his team to win. Rockets are getting healthy now, Rivers still questionable whether he can play or not but at least we have the starters ready for this game. Upon seeing the past games of the Lakers, I am now doubting their capacity to win against a good team like the Rockets, so even if they have King James with them which I guess not 100% yet, I think the Rockets will beat them in their first game back at home.

Pick :   Rockets -2.5

Nice to see you back buds, tailing this as I also seen that Rockets will try to keep winning making sure to have a good place before the playoffs,
Harden and Paul already have a good blend so if they will going to push this one up chances of winning will going to be higher, and with what you have said about Capela inside threat will be added.

Good luck everyone, hope we will win again with this.

Now you are back, I've been waiting for your picks.

What I'm thinking contradicts to your prediction so I think I'm not going to bet with this match. Well, I'm a fan of Lebron James so I might just watch the game and won't cast any bet for this game.

Will wait for your next pick though.

I believe that NBA is fixed so this league purely provide entertainment rather than a real game.
If we want to see a real game, we should watch games in Olympics but since NBA is controlled by a group of people
that has the agenda to sell their business, fixed games always happens.

They will market players who are popular and give them favors on calls, this way they will grow and business will progress.
I believe also that they have a share from big sports book so they have a reason to manipulate games.

Olympics isn't really any different, and I don't think there's any sporting event in the world that has not, isn't and cannot be manipulated, There's just a different approach and level of manipulation that can be exercised in these games.

Slightly off-topic,

While we wait for this short "break" to end, here's an article about Tim Donaghy. The ref who with his questionable foul calls in favor of certain teams was able to influence the outcome of many NBA games. A lot of stuff has been written and discussed over the years, it's on ESPN's main page today. To be honest, it's a very interesting read. Give it a go.
That was an old news, I'm a fan of that news until now.

Anyone with some plays for when the NBA resumes on THURSDAY?
I see MIL and GSW at home being possible options depending on the point spreads but both play well at home.

Cavs Suns total right now (way early) is 219 pts.
Seems too much for these 2 teams who barely know how to score.

I disagree, Based on the stats in their last 2 games, the average score is 225.5.
They are considered as the worst teams in the NBA now, and they can score of course, they just loss because of their lack of defense.
So this 2 teams playing against each other might easily hit the over, you can bet on OT as well if you like, it's possible that it will be a close game.
Yeah. I agree with you there. These book makers know how to score a game since they have alot of money riding on them and their customers the sportsbooks.
They know who will be in the lineup and who will not be minutes before the game starts and have seen them change their lines live at times on the sportsbook site I use.
Phoenix does score when devin booker is in the starting lineup cause he is generally their star player who can hit the three when call upon to do it.

People often forget about this scandal and it costed Chris Webber's Sacramento Kings a championship.

Referees are just humans and they will always have a bias towards certain players and how to call the game.

I'm looking forward to the OP's pick on this tho, I think both the 76ers and Rockets matches caught my attention more but as you've said, I'm looking forward to what the points spread will be available at.

For awhile, let's stop thinking about NBA though.
I'm sure OP will be right on time, it's time to enjoy now as when it resumes we will start making money here again.
A friendly reminder, OP is on 2 winning streak, at this situation I would not hesitate to ride on his next pick.

Odds are created for a reason, they show different odds based on the winning percentage but only on the public perception.
Bookmakers are really smart in making odds and even if there are odds like 1.50 it still does not guarantee that we will win all the time, I know
people who gamble in sports all the time will understand that based on their experience.

Me, personally, I stopped taking low odds, I'd rather 2.00 over or will consider 1.90 because I don't need to win a lot to be profitable.
However, this still depends on our own perception, we are gamblers and we are responsible for our own decision.

I agree with that buds, different gamblers have their own insight regarding to this matter, good example as it may, low odds never guarantee gamblers
to win, though some edge might show that's why bookmakers provide this and entic gamblers to play with it, site owners are very wise in regards with
selections of games, they well manage how to segregate betting odds.

That's the main reason why I'm tailing OP, as he have a same outlook regarding to this matter, it'll be for the gamblers to decide about high or low odds.

Snip..

Agreed!
But what does 1.90 gives you if have win 50% of your bets ?
He's ideology his based or most likely profitable for someone with a fixed bankroll.
His idea from my perspective means taking higher risks for better payout.

Isn't it about the likelihood of event to occurr ?!

No, it's not.

Even taking UNDER 330 in the All Star game, in live ... would have been a losing bet ... the fact the initial line was 315 and you get live line of 330 doesn't necessarily mean it would be "under".

I'm not saying a low odd simply means or necessarily mean it would happen.

If it's not about likelihood why was the initial line drastically different from other NBA games, or why doesn't every NBA come with similar odds or line at 315 or there about ?

No, it's not.
If you had believed the game would go UNDER you could have had UNDER 319 for 1.64:
https://www.oddsportal.com/basketball/usa/nba/team-lebron-team-giannis-xneZl3Je/#over-under;1;319.00;0

Does that mean that 1.64 increases the "likelihood of that event to occur"? No.

Sometimes games end near the line and "buying a point" might be worth it, but you can never know when it would happen and by placing 1.60 bets you are killing your bankroll.

Get-Paid is correct. If yall want to take profit long-term you have to up these odds.

1.4 - 1.7 simply not gonna cut it and good luck with "relatively high chance of winning".  Smiley

Here's an example of a 60% win rate with odds around 1.5 - 1.7. Let's say your bankroll is $200 and you place 10 single bets each $20.

Quote
1. $20 x 1.5 = $30 winner
2. $20 x 1.6 = $32 winner
3. $20 x 1.7 = $34 winner
4. $20 x 1.6 = $32 winner
5. $20 x 1.7 = $34 winner
6. $20 x 1.7 = $34 winner
7. $20 x 1.6 = $32 loser
8. $20 x 1.7 = $34 loser
9. $20 x 1.6 = $32 loser
10. $20 x 1.7 = $34 loser

Your 60% win rate sitting comfy $196.
