Lebron won the MVP, I thought the award should go to Davis. Was the criteria for judging is the overall performance in the in season tournament or just the finals? Because if it was the Finas, Davis was the one beasting, so he should have won the Award.

Anyway, we saw the lack of maturity of the Pacers, it wasn't what I expected to be honest, I thought somehow they'll be able impose their dominance but we didn't see that, their star players were bothered by the good defense of the Lakers.

I took the handicap because I had faith for in the Lakers to win. The Pacers were simply outgunned. Lakers always have an answer when Pacers are about to stay close.

It is a whole In-Game tournament MVP award so Lebron James has the merits to take it. Anyhow, Anthony Davis had a monster performance. 40 points, 20 rebounds, and a number of blocks were made. Davis scarcely missed his shots.

Albeit this is just a minor accomplishment compared to the playoffs. This is how terrifying the Lakers will be in games necessary to them. But in order for them to do it, they need to be healthy.
I placed my bet on Lebron James because I thought they were surely giving it to him but I think Anthony Davis deserved it more. Thanks for clearing it up about if it's for the finals or the whole tournament. Whole tournament makes sense. Otherwise, if just by the finals only then Davis would have gotten it. And I can't stop but pointing out to something, it is Lebron's 21st season. That is just crazy, man. It is great that not only he deserves being the mvp, but just him being a candidate about it is amazing.

So after a day of break, the NBA regular season will resume tomorrow.

I'm thinking of selecting few games only, just the quality games I feel I'm confident with my pick.
So, here are my early leans.

-2.5 Magic over the Cavaliers.
(Magic is 10-2 at home, they should win and cover the spread)

-11.5 Sixers over Washington Wizards
(Last time Wizards covered, this time around they'll not be lucky)

-2.5 Denver over Hawks
(Hawks just a bad team at home with 3-6 record, Denver should win)

-4.5 Kings over Brooklyn
(I just like the home team here)

If that was the basis, no doubt about the win of Lebron being the MVP. He is the one with consistent contribution, Davis somehow had a big game in the Finals but prior to that it was Lebron. Pacers had learn from that experience, they will surely make a lot of adjustments to match up a team as good as the Lakers once they'll be in the playoffs.

Albeit this is just a minor accomplishment compared to the playoffs. This is how terrifying the Lakers will be in games necessary to them. But in order for them to do it, they need to be healthy.

It's only a one game competition, NBA finals or players are so different as it's a best of 7, but at least they already show a glimpse of what they can do.

EDIT: 5 straight points by the Pacers, cutting the lead to 3, Obi's 3 and then a steal for a layup.
I think that's the closest they got in the 2nd half. And it's not about the error of the Indiana Pacers but it's about the defense of the Lakers. Damn, they were all full of energy. Lebron James may have said something that boosted them. Actually, he did say something about the $500k and that's why they are all fired up. Grin I lost my bet but that was intense until the Lakers made a big gap in the 4th quarter.

Congratulations to the Lakers and I think this is a successful event made by the NBA. Somehow every team will be fired up next season when the In-Season starts again. I could firmly say that I love what they did and I also congratulate them because it made NBA fans have something to look out for next season. It will not be a boring season anymore.

Now, they have to think about something that will also make the All-Star a great entertainment again. All of their events are not that fun to watch anymore.
Perhaps adding a prize pool will make it electrifying too just like with the In-Season. Put something on the line. The charity stuff didn't work maybe something else.

I think this kind of tournament is not boring at all, maybe teams was at a lost in the beginning and that's why they treat this as just a regular game. Not saying that the Pacers didn't deserved to be in the finals, but I think it has something to do with teams didn't know what this tournament is.

So congrats to Lebron winning the MVP and Lakers for the first team to got this In-season Trophy. Some of us might have lost this game though as we all thought that the Pacers might pull the biggest surprised.

But Lebron and AD has other plans, monster game by AD and I do agree if he can just be consistent as what we saw him in this game, the Lakers could definitely be a team to beat for this year.

Though the game is not yet over but it seems the Lakers is too much for the Pacers. Davis dominating the paint causing Myles Turner to be in foul trouble is huge since no one in the Pacers bench could guard Davis better than Turner I think.

Lebron is again in beast in the third quarter as he is fresh since he has not played so many minutes in the first half due to foul trouble so congrats in advance kabayan for that ML bet.

It was a dominating game for the Los Angeles Lakers Anthony Davis dominated the paint Lebron James dominated 4 defenders taking the rebound, and the Los Angeles Lakers were all over the place, it was like the highlights were for the Los Angeles Lakers alone, and it was a clear win for the Los Angeles Lakers, Indiana Pacers looks like a newbie team compared to the Lakers,

So for sure Congratulations to the Lakers

If AD played like that consistently, we could easily assert that the Lakers are a championship team.

The way they made the usual scorers for the Pacers, Hali, and Turner, struggle speaks volumes about how strong their defense is. It's the experience of the Lakers was their weapon in this championship game, marking another chapter in the history of LeBron and AD working together. Congratulations to the bettors; I'm sure we have many silent winners here, as the Lakers were the obvious picks.

If the Lakers continuously did something like this, and Anthony Davis stayed healthy for sure the Los Angeles Lakers would be the champion for this season unfortunately Anthony Davis is really consistent, Consistent in getting injured there is no season where he stays healthy for sure and I have seen him pushed himself again in this game so for sure there will be a rest in between for Anthony Davis and Lebron James for sure or maybe in their next game Anthony Davis will be injured but I really wish he will be OK I am just saying the fact that might happen to him,

I unfortunately took the Pacers and took a loss, but it's hard to win when Anthony Davis was so dominant. 41 points and 20 rebounds is about as impressive as it gets. Lebron had 24 points with 11 rebounds and Reaves had an impressive 28 point performance. The Lakers were there to prove a point!

Actually, I enjoyed the game watching, it was really fun watching both the Lakers and Pacers, unfortunately, that is all Tyrese Haliburton can do he looks tired already but seeing his performance for sure he is still improving and I could be a Golden State Warriors fan but I surely enjoyed this game for sure I am OK if the Los Angeles Lakers or the Indiana Pacers turned to be champion this season I will not be upset and be OK with it,

Well Don't forget the Blocks and Assists Anthony Davis and Lebron James did, and those insane rebounds they literally dominated the paint and the rebounds for this game,

Yup, just like what I mentioned, support is really needed and with how the Lakers play the game, we have all seen how they respond with Davis towering over the team, if everyone is involved not just with the offense, but more on rotating with their defense, they really got the height and speed to cover the lane.

It is not easy to make an easy shot with moving guards who are willing to sacrifice defending the offensive attacks of their opponents,
Congrats to everyone for managing to take profits from this game.

This small run by the Pacers during the start of the fourth quarter got me nervous since it had a lot of back and forth. And then the Lakers got their turn to push the lead back to double digits.

Even though the Pacers lost, it was still impressive that the game remained competitive despite their low shooting percentages.

so congrats in advance kabayan for that ML bet.
Thanks, and congrats to everyone else who backed the Lakers.  Smiley

Congrats! The Lakers managed to bring that game to their favor after that short run by the Pacers, I did not manage to watch the game and I failed to spare some coins for them. They play great game as AD really dominates, plus Reaves and LeBron back him up to produce decent numbers that they needed to secure the win.

Pacers on the other hand, did really try working to keep the gap close, but not enough to make a rally to snatch the game. It's a sweet win with a decent ML!

I got the same bet because I can't bet against the Lakers again after their game against the Pelicans. I avoided the handicap because the bet can quickly lose if they suddenly can't hit more than half of their shots, similar to the Suns game a few days ago. And as much as I like the Pacers to win because of their impressive underdog run, they probably won't have an easy time running their explosive offense against this Lakers team that is improving on the defensive end.

Though the game is not yet over but it seems the Lakers is too much for the Pacers. Davis dominating the paint causing Myles Turner to be in foul trouble is huge since no one in the Pacers bench could guard Davis better than Turner I think.

Yeah, I wasn't able to bet on this game, but in any case I will go with the Pacers here.

So let's see how it goes, another 12 minutes for Pacer to turn the game around. But it seems that the Lakers is really poised to get this one, Lebron and his team are putting a good showing.

Davis is making it very hard for the Pacers to get inside. Lakers still leading 92-84.

Yeah, looks like the Lakers is the right bet, but we cannot celebrate early as the game is not yet over. In NBA, no big lead is safe and the Pacers are very much still in the game. Davis should be okay, I saw he is humping a bit after they compete with the rebounds, but he continues so he's okay.

We are in the middle of the 3rd quarter, too early, there's even 4th quarter waiting, so let's hope the pace will continue for the Lakers.

The result of my picks for the games yesterday for the NBA

Charlotte Hornets (2.80) VS Toronto Raptors (1.47) - LOST

The Charlotte Hornets made a close game against the Toronto Raptors it was so close I thought that the Raptors could eventually make the table turn, like this but the Charlotte Hornets were really great Scottie Barnes for the Raptors made a triple-double while the Charlotte Hornets clearly has the more firepower than the Raptors they have Brandon Miller, Terry Rozier, Miles Bridge, and Gordon Hayward on this game,

Orlando Magic (1.19) VS Detroit Pistons (4.90) - WIN

The Orlando Magic was great in this game and we can say that this is a pretty much one-sided game the Detroit Piston is really at the bottom of the standing having only 2 wins but the Orlando Magic from start to finish has made this their lead it was Cole Anthony, Paolo Banchero, and Franz Wagner who dominated this game

Boston Celtics (1.37) VS New York Knicks (3.20) - WIN

the 1st half was a close game it was a back-and-forth lead game, but the Boston Celtics eventually got it in the 2nd half, and from that have made a decent win against the New York Knicks for this game it was Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis, Jayson Tatum, and Derrick White who have cleared this game and win against the Knicks,

Going with Lakers ML tonight and not just because LeBron is playing amazingly at his age but because Lakers do have something to prove this year and In-Season Tournament seems like the best opportunity for them to do that.

Odds fresh @ 1.57 because I'm really not so good when I bet on NBA even if I watch it quite a lot weekly so I prefer to go with a "safer' route.Grin
I'm looking for the upset and took Pacers +4. I think the young kids are going to bring the energy and make it a game at the very least. I do not expect a blowout like the Lakers did to New Orleans.

If you believe they'll upset the Lakers, go with the moneyline.  Smiley

Actually I did take the ML with 2.50 odds, but I understand you want a safer route, your choice... As for me, I took a higher risk but expecting a bigger reward. I'm willing to risk money trusting my guy to win this, young hungry and really good.

Go Hali!
