have you tried ebay? lots of chinese sellers there sell replacement fans for cheap. i bought a replacement fan for a 6770 for $4 shipped, works great. It wasnt the exact same model fan as what was in there before, but it was the same diameter, depth, fan blades, and 2 pin power connector.

This one is 92mm, but only 15mm deep, not 25mm. also mighting holes might be wrong, i dont know

this one is 92mm diameter and 25mm deep, might be compatible

...SNIP

Anybody pull their fans off their 5830s to do water cooling?  Make me a reasonable offer? Preferrably in USD but will do BTC.
Thanks!

No, it's not reasonable. I have got a few of these things (Sapphire 5830 & 5850, different fans) here from local market in Beijing, each for ¥50 (~US$8). You can find the same fans in less than half the price in Shenzhen. Just search Taobao. I am current using a water cooling solution that costs only ¥160 for my 5870s, and it works just fine. But I don't think a 5830 worths a water cooling.

Sorry, out of context.  What I was hoping was that someone ELSE had taken THEIR fans off their 5830s to do water cooling, and maybe had those extra fans laying around and wanted to make me a reasonable offer to sell them to me. Smiley

As far as the local Beijing markets - I'm out of luck there, as I am in the States.  I'm also in an area where the only thing CLOSE to a PC components store is a Best Buy.  And I'm thinking they aren't going to have one of these in stock. Wink

I'll probably try to retrofit someone like mc_lovin is working on... I'll post picks as well when I get something figured out.

Also... unless I add a 4th card to this rig this suggestion might work:

since I have a 5830 here that needed the same treatment, I proceeded to change the fan.  The only 92mm fan I had was an Antec 3-speed, which is allllmost what the 5830 wants but it still got into the 80's so I had to find another fan.. and then I found this tiny little screamin' fan, I think it's like a 2" from a server, and I mounted that on the heatsink array as well and it's doing a great job!  2 fans + an hour of time = problem solved!  I'll post a pic of it as soon as I can.

Ha! That's funny because I already removed the shroud for better cooling and to get at the fan (to get the part numbs, etc. )

I'll give that a go If I can find the right size fan laying around here....

I have a better solution.  What I did with a 4770 and a 6870 when the fans died, is I took off the plastic shroud (you have to take the whole cooler off) and then reattach the heatsink without the fan, so it's just a big heatsink.  Then you can zip-tie an 80mm or 92mm fan to it, and you'll find the card runs at like 50 degrees now, total upgrade!  And it doesn't cost anything!

28,- for shipping is &%&$&, i pay for a standard shipping from China about 2-3$

So 28$ is absolutely No-Go.
I don't think that's the right fan?  That looks like a reference one.

Absolutely Wrong Fan.  The pics I sent are identical to the fan I pulled off the card.

isn't the vibration bad for ur hard drive...? what about this vga cooler (though may take another pci slot..)
