Do they have any trouble with BTC related sites? May be a good option if their free micro instance plan is still active.

Don't think they have any problem with Bitcoin, there are several people who use AWS for Bitcoin sites.

I would recommend digitalocean when it comes to VPS

You can hire the server with them through a third party https://bithost.io/ where you can pay for your servers using bitcoins.
I second that. Their advantage is not really price. You may get better deals from http://lowendbox.com/ but they may not be so reliable. DO is cheap and reasonably reliable. That's better than dead-n-a-month VM.

Out of curiosity, why has AWS missed everyones list?

If you want to setup bitcoin node for hodling wallet, then you do not need VPS. It has to be strictly offline node under your control, supervision along with multiple encrypted backups of keypools.

If you just want bitcoin node to run for blockchain parsing or as just network participant, try Digitalocan droplets.

I would  recommend gandi.net, better if you plan to scale up  later on .

Do they accept Bitcoin ?

Not  right now, they  dont.

Hi,

I am a newbie and want to buy vps hosting to try to set up a bitcoin node and one other website which is currently on shared hosting, can someone suggest which hosting provider to select, I have narrowed down to these three:
Hostgator
Bluehost
Godaddy

I am not sure about linode or digitalocean hosting as I need a managed hosting service with cpanel.

Thanks.

If u are looking for a VPS, I request u check this VPS Comparison to order your preferred configuration.

Avoid GoDaddy like plague when u r dealing with bitcoin. They can suspend u anytime. Hostgator & Bluehost are the 2 different brands of the same hosting giant Endurance International Group.
