watts as cooling measurement makes things confusing.

maybe there is a confusion error in installing that AC because of that 2800w/2600w label.

30m2 area can be cooled ideally by 2.5ton which is around 2600watts (electrical).

Wow, it's explained the reason of your electricity bill
Your A/C is power hungry, 2600w

But I think you can share more info and we can help you in a better way to reduce your electricity consume

Is it necessary to turn on the A/C?
Most cases you can solve the problem with fans, good airflow and undervolt.

as replied above,

i just wanna find a way to exhaust some of the hot air out of the apartment, simply opening windows doesnt help much !...

Lets try a different way to explain this.

How many rooms do you have?

If you have a few rooms and not one room how easy is it to shut the one sure hot mining room off from the other rooms.

If you can keep the mining room disconnected from the rest of your place let us know.

If the mining room has two windows not on the same wall let us know.

Hello

I felt Obligated for the community sake to keep you guys updated on my situation...

I got someone to check on the AC couple of days ago...

In my RENTAL appartment apparently they had a WEAK AC unit for the living area, as showed in the image posted (but no one suggested anything  Tongue) that unit is having a Cooling Power of just 2800w

There was nothing wrong with the Multi SPlit Unit ACs except the one in my living room was REALLY weak for the living room area ! (can u see where am going ?...)

so my living area measured is 30m2

converting 2800w cooling power to BTU that AC has just under 10,000 BTU >>> https://www.unitconverters.net/power/watt-to-btu-it-hour.htm

https://www.unitconverters.net/power/btu-to-ton.htm
So thats LESS THAN 1 Tons for a 30m2 room with open kitchen ! (excluding storage area, mining heat and bathroom area not taken into consideration !)

My uncle has the same living area he went with 3 Tons AC unit while mine is less than 1 Tons !!

Finally I had to figure out how many tons id really need to simply keep my living area at nice 25c, apparently i need at least 1.5 Tons (excluding mining heat, bathrooms area and storage)
using this caltulator to find out >> https://www.calculator.net/btu-calculator.html

So thats 18,000 BTU

Apparently the appartment owner CHEAPED OUT LIKE FUCK ! by getting a cheap weak inneffective AC to cool a living area which is too big, as a result, the AC could never bring down the living area temp to 25c and as a result that AC COMPRESSOR was pretty much running 24/7 for over 2 months and hence the crazy high electric bill i got !

The repairs guy advised to set the temp on the AC to 28c (no mining) once i did that the AC was able to keep the room temp at 28 (lol) and the compressor went off and started saving power ! but by no means 28c is comfortable !

Even when set to 30c (with mining) the AC Comrpessor kept operating and never switches off because simply its never able to cool down the living area in order to go to power saving !...

Lesson Learned: while its NOT my mistake, and i DID NOT buy those ACs, one should NEVER cheap out on ACs and always get an AC that is AT LEAST able to cool down the AREA intended for while not overwhelming that ACs and saving on your energy cost...

this calculator helps you to choose the correct AC needed for the room size intended: https://www.calculator.net/btu-calculator.html

Only thing am trying to think of right now is: How much is 1000w of mining electricity consumption does it produce in terms of HEAT,

we learn something new everyday !...

$0.11 USD will be a very expensive electricity bill for you after Ethereum mining ends. There are no new coins, and low profit will probably discourage you from mining. With such conditions, it might be worth considering selling at least one mining farm.
as per nicehash profitability calculator and my real earnings currently its not the case Smiley

when i go to bed at night i put the miners in the living room (where one of the ACs) but i turn it off to save power, and i kinda downclocked both rigs to prevent mem temps from exceeding 88-90c, is that safe ?

i admit i cant run 2x ACs 24x7 thats a dum idea !...

Now I have a better understanding about your situation.
It's hard to have rigs in same room you sleep, noise and heat are hell in the mid term, I used to have my rigs in my room, after a couple of days I had bad nights trying to sleep.

If you live in 1 bedroom and in a rental you don't have many choices, I know.
A simple way is to buying a desktop fan and put it behind the rig blowing hot air to the windows.
2 desktop fans and you can create airflow in your room, but noise and airflow constantly can be bad to sleep.

Trying to reduce the clocks and undervolting can be good too to reduce heat and eliminate the need of A/C.
You'll earn less coins, but will save tons in electricity.

I don't like the idea of turning off your rig to move everyday to the living room. It's bad in the long term.

You need to create airflow... just opening the windows for exhaust in a box isn't going to do it...

you need to establish an intake and an exhaust to create airflow.   the intake air replaces the air exhausted out.

can you isolate the miners in 1 room and run fans .

then never let the heat from the miners leave that room and go into the rest of the house.

i wanna do that except am in a 1 bed room apartment + i have a 1x2m store room with big windows, that room used to have one of my rigs a while ago but even with the windows open (not a good idea lots of dust accumulate on the rigs and possibly hazardous) the heat gets build up in that room, i wish i could find some way to EXHAUST the hot air from that room, if i did that YES i could live without an AC during the day...

any DOI method to build an exhaust fan with tubing to exhaust the air outside the windows ? its a rental so i cant drill anything in the windows...

It is a multi split ac, it can have two evaporators and one condenser. Therefore it is a powerful ac, yes an ac can consume 2600w for 2-3hp models.

It is also an inverter ac, the more your room heats up the more electricity that ac consumes until it maxes out its cooling capacity.

Maybe that 9kg is the amount of refrigerant needed in that system.

what do you mean by this ? am having the AC set on Cooling function and set to 16c, Am not setting it on Auto !...

It depends on your A/C if it is with an inverter which in most cases they are, they consume like 3.1 Kw when starting but soon after 30 minutes to 1 hour have passed they reduce drastically their power consumption,I have done such a test with my Gree A/C that I have at home at 12.000 BTU and the power with a watt meter after like 1 hours was showing 950 watt power consumption which I think is the lowest any A/C can get for the 12.000 BTU thing.

You should turn it off as that would drastically reduce your power bill, from what I have noticed when opening up an A/C at work where I have some small rigs with Gtx 1050 ti the temperature of the cards go to 63-64 degree Celsius from 66-67 degree so the A/C is not making any huge difference here, but your situation maybe different, you should isolate things one by one until you find which sucks up a lot of your energy bill.

yeah It maxes at 2800 watts and normally does 2600

so 30 x 24 = 720 hours a month/

worst case it always runs

so 2.6 x 720 = 1872 kwatts

add 1.1 x 720 = 792 kwatts

total of 2664 kwatts

Recently ive been receiving huge electric bills, i was thinking running the AC 24/7 was the reason for that (besides my 2 RIGs) but then i started to see the bill increasing even more

i checked here in turkey regarding the electric rate apparently its 0.07$ USD for up to 210 kWh/month then 0.11$ USD for exceeding 210 kWh/month !

First my two rigs both are sucking 1100 Watts 24/7 in total, so how do i know my monthly kWh consumption ?? Because according to the power company i have consumed 3266 kWh for the past month, so how to check and calculate my actual consumption ??

i used something like this:
https://www.inchcalculator.com/watts-to-kwh-calculator/

when entering 1000 in the first space and 720 in the second blank i get just 720 kWh for a whole month, wat less than 3266 !...

thanks,

sorry to reopen tis thread
am still confused about my excessive AC bill, but am only wondering about something, could some ACs be rated at 2800w ?? or that excessive ?

i took a screenshot from my AC and it looks like tjhis... (although its in a foreign language)
https://ibb.co/84tFnZR

the first value 2600 is the cooling capacity (is this the same as power consumption?)
the second value is heating capacity...

and its a 9 KG AC...

If you have a separate wire for mining farms, then install this wattmeter
https://aliexpress.ru/item/33060615027.html?
If you use a home outlet, then with the help of this wattmeter you can find out the real consumption of mining farms and air conditioners from the wall.
https://aliexpress.ru/item/1005004242421472.html?
It is inexpensive, but it will help you to calculate the profit very much.

If it is hot and humid outside you will be miserable in a home without AC. I shutdown all my rigs in the summer and turn them on in fall / winter  /spring.

I live in a hot city, today for example we have the max for 34ºC and we are in the winter. It's easy to have 32ºC or more.
I never used A/C to mine due to electricity costs.
Maybe OP can find a good spot with good air flow and make it without A/C, I just share some ideas.

150W for a desk fan is a lot I've got one and it's using abt. 55W max.

Like I said consuming maximum of 150w, I have 2 desk fans here, one small and one bigger, the small one uses 35w min and 60w maximum, it's enough for most cases, but when I had to test some rigs in my room, I had to use the bigger and in the max speed, it's 150w, but it can make a lot or air flow, pushing the hot air from my room to outside.

Just a tip for you
With only 2 rigs it's easy to maintain and deal with temperature
Of course if you live in a country of 30ºC or more everyday, it's a bit harder, but 2 rigs you can maintain only with small pc fans of 12cm, if you do the right air flow combined with a good overclock / undervolt and fan settings.
If things are hot you can even use a desk fan consuming maximum of 150w, and only use it in daytime

There's no need for A/C in most situations for us home miners
