so who can participate in the alpha ? stake holders or absolutely everyone ?

Current plan:

Phase 0: core devs
Phase 1: core team
Phase 2: absolutely everyone

No idea how long one phase lasts. It will depend on how well things work and on how much data devs want to collect.

We need more detail.

Like what ? What information is it that you are missing ?

Are there any app programmers out there that can make a simple NEM wallet for a smartwatch? I will help add to the development bounty if this ever becomes a project.

Here is a teardown of Samsung's new Gear 2 smartwatch www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Samsung+Gear+2+Teardown/23990 Some neat features include immersion up to 1 meter of water, 2MP camera, heartrate monitor and IR TV remote.

I know a developer who make a payment app for Pebble https://getpebble.com/. The last time I talked to him about Bitcoin he is not that interested but that was just a brief mentioning of Bitcoin. Anyway if that's the something the community wants then at some point it is best starting to look for a developer and contract him. Bounty system works best when it is really big and got advertised massively.

This looks really promising!

While everyone is waiting on the NEM Alpha, here are some more updates on wearable tech.

We should make wearable NEM clothing that lets you transmit NEM, like people shared music in this paper: http://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/978-3-642-02556-3_59

Has there been an app released so far that can send and receive altcoins by Bluetooth or NFC?
I mean, keeping it as consumer friendly as possibly, and not needing to show long addresses.
Just a few clicks, and the money is sent.

Maybe NEM can be the first. That'd be great if we had an "in" with retailers, and have it implemented at POS.

I have to get me one of those smart watches  Smiley

Dunno if it has been done but it's a great idea. Payment via NFC is almost common now so why should NEM be an exception Smiley

I've been a long-time stakeholder in NEM, and think it's one of the best future altcoins out there.

Kudos to the developers and the team behind NEM.

I really want this coin to succeed.

Take as much time as you see fit.

Yeah, it is a good post. The author or someone should clean it up and work to get it on a crypto news site/coindesk.

Any news about forging system??

 Smiley

The first version is implemented and is currently being integrated into the alpha.

EXO is faster. Many beta versions already launched.

So what
LOL
As a matter if fact, who cares. What does that even mean?

NEM is in a whole different class. Like saying a bike is faster than a computer? Why cause it can move faster down the street? Because it can be put together faster?

NEM is much more intricate. Im no computer wizard. But my guess is that you can go have fun riding your bike around town with your newNEM tshirt on. Pedal, pedal, pedal!!!

Oooohhhh Aaaahhhh that's fast!!!

Great example!

If some hard core NEM holder don't know what to do with NXT in a pocket.
Grin
I have simple solution: auction Nxt CPU silver

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/916428/Nxt_3dprint/Nxt_CPU_rare_04_1024px.jpg

That looks like an old Intel 4004 (a 4-bit CPU, circa 1971!). The DIP packaging is old school and does not convey the future of NXT. SOIC (Small Outline IC), PLCC (plastic leaded chip carrier), QFP (Quad Flat Package), PGA (Pin grid array), QFN (quad flat no-lead package) and BGA (ball grid array) are modern SMT packages. Just a little constructive criticism.

Don't want to flood this topic with logo-pictures, but here's my latest addition (ver4) behind the link:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.5045181

letter N, inverted pramid, growth, friendly-green. Recognisable in the small 16x16pix coinmarketcap-format too.

I kinda like it, but the Asymmetry looks a little weird.  Interesting though, but doesn't have the same impact as the N shape like You have on the globe.

Maybe we could start a blown up survey, to define the prize the users and holders are going to be about to pay in the beginning. This could be the opening prize Smiley
