Been thinking a bit and it seems at Nem we have 2, maybe 3 important things done really well.
1)We have a real piece of innovation and a brilliant dev team that has put a lot of hard work to build the foundation for a very promising long term project.
2)We have a great community.(Willing to help, contribute, etc)
3)I think we will hopefully go further than any other coin in achieving simplicity - bridging the gap for the end-user. (It is already happening with the client and other sutff.)
So probably the most important need of our movement at the moment would be an equally talented person on the marketing/PR side.
From all I can see, beside lack of simplicity in every promising project, this may be the greatest need of bitcoin, indeed, whole crypto-community as well.
We don't need someone just to fill the spot. Rather in addition to all we are contributing to building, in light of the lack of quality marketing we see, this is where we could really bring a competitive edge in. We need someone to try to emulate Apple in marketing. This is the easiest way to think about it.
This is a long term project with a lot of hard work and real value put in it, now we just need someone to express all this stuff in the most effective way.
If we want to really take this movement to the next level, we need to focus on quality innovation(aleady doing), simplicity(need more of this, it's never enough) and great marketing.
As I said, beside Doge who is fighting another fight, Blackcoin is the only coin who is showing some real marketing skills. You may have heard about their new project to hire a Marketing/PR company for 90 days to do some work/campaign for them. Don't know how it will work out, but they are definitely trying really hard to make things work and be useful in the real world.
Has someone applied for the open position until now?
Why NEM?
What is our answer to this? Lets come up with a really good official one.
I think that unless the dev team has something up their sleeve when it comes to marketing, we will look back at this subject as one of our stumbling blocks.
It's ok, NEM has many strengths, and I believe in NEM and I am in for the long haul.
This, as of now is NEMs biggest weakness, unless there is something I'm missing. But when it comes marketing, then this is a subject I wouldn't miss.
No matter, I have faith in UP and the community to catch us up on this issue.
I fully support NEM and will help wherever needed.
Keeping this in context. NEM A+ all but marketing
