When people do the math, and realize what promotional power 15% of NEM (>5000 BTC), plus over 1000 unique stakeholders will bring to future value, I see these stakes at auction going for a mega-shit-ton. Then, this makes the 15% worth even more. Its an amazing idea.
10 BTC easy!!

We will see how the market will decide it. Bur remember NEM is not launched yet and has not prove anything yet.

I would not mind buying an extra stake or two Grin. As a present stakeholder am I eligible to bid for a stake. A problem that can happen should the price for an auction stake gets too big is that some stakeholders might be tempted to sell thier stakes under the table or are stakeholders allowed to auction thier stakes too? Huh

I don't think we can or should actively prevent people selling/ buying stakes under the table as long as everyone takes an extra caution to avoid scams.

To remind everyone that the current final stakeholder list does not include the waiting list yet. I will contact the waiting list in a few days to invite them in. However I would like to write a brief proposal on the NEM governance and and future road map first.

It would also serve as an additional source of information for people planning to participate in NEM auction later on.

auction will be open for everyone or only for peoples on waiting list who didn't get any shares?

should be open to everyone.
Even who have 2 stakes?

By the way good job up, before last night l always thought there will be 1.333333M for each stake,it's good though, but not perfect in my mind. Now we have at least 15% stake we can use for nem growning up.That's an awesome idea.15% is a huge amount we should use carefully.

Hi Everyone,

Need some advice please. I got interested and started investing in cryptos last year and am lucky enough to be one of the stakeholders in NEM (huge potential).

With that said, my main concern is security. I had no idea the ease at which people could hack accounts until I started reading all the horror stories about crypto thefts. No I am using >50 random key passwords. I feel more secure but at the same time it is a pain in the ass to remember and to type in. I have been looking at password wallet options like Dashlane and wanted to get everyone's opinion on the best options out there.

Are Dashlane like solutions reliable and safe? They still require a password so aren't they still hackable? I feel like it's a huge catch 22. There has to be a better option than storing your passwords in a safety deposit box.

Thanks as always.

I can't speak with authority on this issue, but I had the same question a while back.  It was recommended to me by somebody who has been around a while to use Keepass or Lastpass.  I have been using one of these and really like it!

There are two first lots of auction I have in mind: the first lot would be for 10 NEM stakes with all the proceeds going to a charity of NEM community choice. Charity will be delivered at our official launch;  and the second lot would be 10 NEM stakes with all the proceed going to NEM logo design and branding package. Each bid would be for 1 stake in a lot and 10 highest bid win the lot.

Hah... it's really a good idea
