Your competitor NAScoin was just added to the first exchange: dgex.com

your move NEM!

I always find it amusing that people buy into the whole "competition" world view.

Why look for an enemy? These systems have nothing to do with each other and aren't even ín competition.

Drawing lines on a fictional map of currencies is silly at best, counterproductive at worst. Smiley

I'm invested in differing amounts in all of them. No reason at this moment to build forts and start defending them.

If nas was added to dgex nem wont have any problem to get on exchanges

I always have an eye on coinmarketcap.com and have noticed some interesting points.
Ripple looks like it's dying a bit. Interest waning on the centralized crypto?
These airdrop coins of late are Booming at first but they sure are Busting later on.
I'm sure I saw Marinecoin over a billion earlier today and now less than one million market cap.
NxT is sticking in there though proving that high tech is worth something?
Glad I'm in with Nem, another quality coin like NxT that I'm sure will lead the way in crypto land. No boom and bust here methinks.

What's all this talk about charities and auctions? Let's just stick to Utopian futures plan guys. Let's not get
things too complicated.

I think the first step is to get rid of the dollar signs in your eyes. Nem is more than coinmarketcap. It is more than a Pump and Dump. We are talking revolution here. And we won't settle for less.

exactly, I don't even own a share. Just on the waiting list, however NEM means more than money.

I hold a stake in all of those too. To be honest it was a shameless atempt of creating some fuzz about this coin Wink If you post something controverse, then people will look more likely into it !

Nem has been my entry ticket into crypto-currency. I've been reading about some of the features Nem is trying to implement and it really is interesting. Looking forward to experience Nem first hand. Maybe it will be nice to organize a meetup after everything is launched and working properly.

auction is a good idea, would be cool if NEM would be known for trying new things and having fresh ideas. A community who is not just following old patterns but actively creates new ones will be much more interetsing and attractive to all kinds of investors.

Im not afraid of NAS, but NXTL makes me a little nervous.
Hope that market wont get saturated with 2.gen too quickly.

What is differences with NXTL and NEM? I have given a look and screenshots look good for NXTL

I don't know what NXTL is, but in case its a copy of NXT, thats a difference.

NXTL is another launch that is coming, funding has been sketchy as dev's English is a little rough, and he was eventually forced to stop funding until he showed some actually working code.  They recently completed "Phase 3" which was a web based client that assigned original genesis wallet.  Seems to be coming along, maybe launch before NEM is completed.

I've invested in NXT since January, but it's crazy that DGEX.com hasn't increased it's security or graphical interface, I wouldn't want to launch NEM on that exchange first, as lack of 2-step verification is often a non-starter for many.  I would hope we launch on mintpal, or cryptsy if they have fiat by then.

Precisly. What is up with DGEX, why arent they changing a thing about it, exchange already made a nice profit, why arent they updating design. They are aware of criticism towards its shady look and security, but seems like they dont care. I thought that after releasing own IPO they will work on bettering every aspect of it, but I dont see any progress at all.
And what about our own NEM exchange, there was some talk about it earlier, is it still planned?

NEM's list was almost out, this is exciting. Now this downturn can see a glimmer of hope, let us rekindle the point-to-point transaction, to the center of the confidence of trading. Look forward to the day NEM listed transactions.
Thank you

Not in the same league, so not a competitor.  Nas coin is a poor copy of NxT with a sockpuppet developer who has already been banned once.

it exists. so yeah currently another league :Wink

Solid point )

Although Nem (and Nxtl) looks better than Nas but still those guys already launched it. As they say when you're working on a startup don't wait until it's perfect, launch it asap and then make it better. I'm pretty new to all this cryptocurrencies stuff, but I think we need to launch Nem at least before Nxtl, Ethereum, emunie and other 2nd generation competitors.

EDIT: in the event that everybody on the waiting list gets a stake I agree with the above poster: auction off the remaining stakes for charity.

Great Idea.

What's the obsession with charity? We are not a charity fund. If someone want to spend his money for charity - then go for it, but don't use money that belong to others for it. We need a strong coin and we should spend all available money for development and marketing. I'd better give all money to dev team so they could quit their day jobs and focus on Nem. After all $40-50K spent on development and marketing may increase coin capitalization 10 times and everybody can spend 10 times more money on charity if they're so obsessed with it.

It is no obsession. If the people on the waiting list will pay for their stake I think there is sufficient funds for development, for marketing and for the devs to pay the rent and go on a well deserved binge.

My reasoning is the following: the best IPO ever was the Counterparty IPO. Over 2000 BTC where taken out of the market and thus payed to all holders of BTC as a dividend. All people who burned BTC made a profit, and by doing so everyone in the community made a profit.

If NEM is released it will be on an exchange and the minimum price for 1 NEM will be 1 satoshi. This equals >0.1 BTC per stake, per definition. Profit for all.

An auction for more development funds and marketing funds smells like greed. Greed for a larger profit than the profit we already made. IMO, this would go against everything that made NEM a valuable idea in the first place.

Since the NEM team has made us a profit already, and since I'm a communist at heart, I believe those that didn't have the chance to participate should share in my profit, since I didn't do anything to deserve it for myself alone.

A good charity for the hypothetical auction would be this:

https://www.counterparty.co/full-bitcoin-nodes

http://nodeshares.com

We'd pay a tribute to the crypto community by financially supporting the above initiative. Bitcoin paved the way for the NEM team to be able to create NEM, and it will continue to pave that road for the foreseeable future. Call it charity. I'd call it common sense.

Shit if 1 million NEM will be .1 btc at release you can bet your ass I'm buying a fuckity fuck load of stakes.

The price vill be higher, 20000BTC market cap for start means 0,000005btc per 1NEM

For charity......  from every transaction fee Nem comm. gives % to charity
+1 agree

It is likely that NEM will come out before Ethereum.

I thought NEM launched june/july? Ethereum launches Q4?

Has the launch been set back?
